Are antiqued nailheads too rustic or can they be on furniture in french country decor?
Here’s the furniture piece I just purchased and realized the nailheads are on the top:

I don’t understand why you are concerned. French country is supposed to be rustic. Perhaps you pictured French country as manor house rather than farm house. However, French country includes the linear and plain as well as the curved and ornamented. French furniture was handcrafted locally until the industrial revolution, and there is wide variation in style.
