Benching at 14!?!?!?!!?
should i be doing it?
I just started the P90x program and i know all about eating and meals and what not. And p90x doesn’t require benching at all cause all i use are dumbbells, a pull up bar, a chair and those cushiony bars you use to do push ups. but i know benching is the most effective for my chest.
but i have heard that if i lift too young, it could stunt my growth. and that’s the last thing i want because i’m doing this for basketball. is this just bullshit or is it true and when should i start benching.

Lifting can’t stunt your growth. That is a bullshit myth man. I was lifting when i was your age, I’m 6"1 now. You can start benching right now. Don’t worry about it.

Exercising in general will not stunt your growth unless you are overdoing it so badly that you are pulling muscles loose. Go ahead and bench press. Just like any other weight lifting, alternate days to give muscles a chance to recover.
no im trying to do the same thing and no my coach said it wont stunt my growth and i am 14 too!
