Our old slide-in range is about 20 years old, located in the island with drywall behind it and barstools behind that. We are getting a new slide-in range next week and have been told that it needs venting room behind it. Can we just knock out some of the drywall under the counter? It’s all "empty space" behind the range.

My concept is about a relaxed place which is romantic at the same time.
It is a place in which you can go to talk and have fun with your friends, your girlfriend or boyfriend or just go by yourself, and read whilst you enjoy a coffee.
On the first floor, there will be a drawing room with books available, and 2 tables in which you can read and drink coffee. Passing the drawing room, there will be the first bar area which can hold the capacity of 30 people. The illumination will be tenuous with some candles on the tables. The second floor will be a terrace with lounge furniture. In the two areas you can eat, and drink any kind of beverage.
The food will consist of appetizers such as nachos, cheese sticks, queso dip. Pizza and pasta will also be available. Beverages that will be offered include different kinds of coffee such as chocolate, espresso, frapuccino, and lattes. Beer on tap, and bottles and glasses of wine.

Goal and target
The goal is to provide a space for people who want to relax in the evenings to read and drink coffee. Friends can go and chat during the week and people can find time to escape their daily routine. Couples can come to enjoy coffee or a bottle or glass of wine.

Age
I would say that 16 and up will be a good age, but anyone of any age are welcome.

What two colors will work for a living room and a kitchen?

My living room flows into my kitchen and there is a "bar" to separate the rooms. You are able to see into the kitchen so the colors cannot clash. My dilemma is what two colors will go well together or should I pick one color and do different shades? I have a rich brown, comfy couch in the living room with brown furniture and a neutral carpet. The kitchen has dark cabinets and counter tops, light floors, and the appliances are white. The kitchen table is glass and dark metal. Hope that helps!

I owned and operated a billiard room with retail supplies for over 15 yrs. I am now looking for employment but I’m not certain what I should be doing at this point. So, I will be painting my room in 2 weeks but I want more changes than that, I’d like some suggestions ! The walls will be all cream with one brown accent wall, which is the one with a window. My bedspread is simply navy blue and white. I wanted to try something new with my room, but I have no idea where to start. I have a white bookcase that can’t be painted, a HUGE (6′ ?) black barred cage for my chinchilla, a white desk with a brown top on it, a brown dresser, and a small dark wash wooden bedside cabinet thing with a white marble top. It’s basically all of my parent’s old furniture that I got stuck with, but it’s all I have. I can’t buy new furniture at all so what do I do?
Like I said, I’d like some cheap, do it yourself way to add to the beachy-ish feel to my room.
