help choosing paint colors?
My whole house is painted one color (which is a lite tan almost white). I want to repaint every room. – need some suggestions on colors. I have a living room with all brown leather furniture, kitchen with attached dining room black appliances with brown cabinets and table, laundry room, master bedroom brown suit, master bath, 6 year old girl bedroom with brown bed and dresser bedspread is polka dotted with yellow pink green blue dots and bathroom , and a band/computer room. Please give any suggestions that you have.
Sorry. The carpet is really light tan very neutral in every room

From what you have said, you have a lot of dark furniture & appliances. To keep the rooms looking small, you need to go with light colors. You don’t want chocolate brown in the living room because you have brown furniture and it will make the room look very small.
You didn’t mention carpeting…so it is hard to give exact colors.
You could also use accent colors in pillows/table clothes/place mats/curtains etc… to add to what is already there.
You could also go and purchase wallpaper borders. I love to paint, but don’t have the room to move furniture around as we live in an apartment (yes they let us paint if we want), so I bought a border for the bathroom & got everything else to match it. Same with the living room/dining room. It is an open floor plan room, and I painted a border in the dining room part, and put up a border in the living room part. Now it looks like I have 2 separate rooms.
You can also do theme rooms without painting. Our kitchen is apartment white, but I’ve added wallpaper cut outs that match the apple theme (which carries over into the dining room). Our bath is rubber duck theme, living room is birdhouse, 2nd bedroom is Scotland (my husband is from there) and our bedroom is Americana. Accents are great….and I didn’t have to paint anything.
Take a picture of each room, go to your nearest paint store with them and ask them for a palette suggestion. Better still, have a colour person from the paint store come to your home.
