Help me choose a paint color!?
I need a little help choosing a paint color. I’m not looking for anything extreme, but I also don’t want a basic white/off-white color. Here’s a little background on my furniture/other accessories:
I have one large room which will be a living room on one end, and a dining room on the other end. I can divide up the two rooms by color, as well. My two couches are a light tan color with dark espresso wood legs. Also, the remainder of my wood furniture in the living room area (media tower, barstools, coffee table, end tables) are all the dark espresso finish. The only color I have for this space are red throw pillows and a red lamp with brass features. I was originally thinking a deep gray would work, but I’m not so sure. I can also buy other paintings/accessories to tailor to any wall color, as long as it goes with my existing furniture.
For the dining area, there is a bit more color. I have the same color scheme in the furniture (light tan cushions on the seats, dark espresso coffee table and bar). I also have red, orange and yellow in my accessories and art (orange and red in the main painting, red vases/glassware on the bar as decoration, and an orange table-runner with brown and tan candle assortments in a centerpiece). Any suggestions for this part of the room?
The only color I’m adament about staying away from is yellow, and I’d prefer for the color to not be too deep or too bold, unless it’s just an accent wall.
Thanks!

mom wants to know if you are depressed yet
with all those dark woods and tan furniture and red
she says peaches on the walls to soften all the testosterone in the joint and for heavens sake get rid of the reds – well unless you want to advertise a permanent bachelor joint with no intentions of settling down ever – peaches come in a slide of hues choose the lightest one you can stand
NO accent walls for you – all that dark wood accents enough rigidness – you don’t need to put a wall between you and any person who would try to get close
the red pillows will limit the color of the wallsa blue may work
Go with DESSERT CAMEL (Benjamin Moore) on your wall, it will pop out your couches and your red pillow. will match with your other furniture too.
