First, I would find out where the buyers found the jerk. Then, I would complain quite vehemently to the person that recommended or employs him. Even if he is an independent contractor, he more than likely gets his leads from either a bank, realtor, or title company. I would be angered also, and what is the reason you had to leave??? that is unethical let alone, unprofessional…. You have a legitimate gripe, and I would not let this go. If he is that sloppy, seems he needs to be inspected.
i wuld not of left my house with my stuff in it for starangers to go through. I would watch over them well while they were there.
NO. It’s not. I would call his agency and tell them. Sounds more like he ransacked the place than inspected it, and what was the problem with you being home?
That is so not professional. If you get an extensive list of stuff to fix from your potential buyer, you could tell them that you don’t trust a list from someone so irresponsible. I’m sure they won’t want to spend the dough on another one so you may get out of some costly repairs.
Let me start by saying. home inspectors are not professionals. They need no training nor license to do an "inspection". Spending money on a home inspection might be better spent on a linseed contractor’s inspection. As for leaving your house. Is anything missing?. This business of inspecting homes maybe be a good idea for they buyer but there is no guarantee from the inspecting party that the work they did was of any value. A typical home inspectors warranty lasts as long as they are at your home. When they leave the warranty is void. I would indeed make inquiries as to the choice of inspectors and report his actions to anyone who will take note.
