Well, in my opinion as a dude, since you have white furniture only and you don’t have much light entering your basement, you should repaint the walls a very cool and light color, such as lavender, light pink ( not hot pink), maybe baby blue. Something like that. But to be honest, I don’t think there should be any specific themes. For lighting, just put some simple fluroscent lights on top. If you want, refurbish the floor. Maybe add some wall to wall carpeting or put a nice finish of smooth wood, maybe tiles. I would go with the tiles. If you’re going to go with the tiles, make it white. Hope this helped!
Painting the wall in a light aqua color will lighten things up and give a open look. With white furniture you could go with a beach resort type theme. Shells, fishing nets (decor type) hung on walls are great for displaying pictures and other small keepsakes, simple lamps with white or aqua shades, and aqua bedding with white throw pillows. A really cheap way to "make" a small closet is to buy a moving box from a movers place. They have ones that are cardboard with a bar in it. You can paint or wall paper the box to dress it up. The other thing would be to buy a free standing wardrobe closet from a garage sale or thrift store and paint it if needed.
Good Luck!
