Puppy just pooped in the the house four times in different rooms?
My puppy finished his perscription for coccidia medication a few days ago. His stool was getting firmer on the medication, but once it ran out, his poop got looser again. I took in a stool and urine sample to the vet because there was mucus in the stool, and she analyzed it and didn’t find anything. He was dewormed two weeks ago, and tomorrow will have another deworming pill, so I don’t think it’s worms. He has eaten a bit of grass and his food and water today, but nothing else as far as I know. I watch him like a hawk outside.
Anyways, just now he went into the kitchen and pooped, then under the kitchen table and pooped, and then into the living room and pooped, and then into his roomand pooped. It got looser and looser, with the last being a bit liquid-ey. He usually indicates he needs to go out by standing by the door, but this time he didnt do it.
I plan to take him to the vet tomorrow, but does anyone have any other advice? I am really worried about him.
To clarify, I am not worried about the behaviour of pooping inside, since he has been learning well since we got him. What I am concerned about is his health.

stick his face in the poop
Depending on how old the puppy is, he could just be getting used to the food he is getting, because I remember when my dog was a puppy she would crap all over. Eventually her stool firmed up and it stopped. If you are really worried calling the vent cannon hurt.
I had sorta the same issue with my dog, I took him to the park and he played in a pool of water and ended up getting giardia. he took meds for it for two weeks. I also had him dewormed three times just in case. He continued to have the runs and the vets couldn’t find anything and other than the runs he was a very healthy dog.
I started wondering if it was food allergies so I got him on an all natural diet, I feed him blue life protection formula, with natural chicken, and brown rice. Try having your dog tested for giardia, its a very cheap test and if it comes negative, Try giving him different foods and see if it changes.
What kind of food are you feeding it? What kind of food was he on before? I have a friend who just got a new puppy and the food that they feed them in a shelter is donated and not usually the best food quality. Anyway she came home and started him out on a high quality food and it was too drastic a change and the puppies belly couldn’t handle the drastic change in diet. Find out what food the dog was on before and wean it onto a better quality food. In the mean time, don’t feed the dog anything for about 8 hours( it will do his belly good to rest it for a while). Then start it back on a bland diet of boiled hamburger and white rice. Don’t season it at all it has to be bland. When his belly is settled after a few days start him back up on the food he had when he was weaned from his mother. After about a week, mix it with a slightly higher grade food ( about a 30% new to 70% old food mixture). Then increase the new food every day. Then start over with the next higher quality food in the same way. The slower you introduce high quality foods to a pup the better. This is what they had to do with her puppy. He is now 4 months old and is doing fine. It was just the initial drastic introduction that didn’t agree with his digestive system. Hope this helps, Good luck with your puppy.
This type of pooping can also be caused by food allergies, I have a dog that does exactly that, several poops getting more liquidy, signs of straining when attempting to go. I have not worked out exactly what mine is allergic too, but I know one is chicken, 1 chicken neck equals 24 hours of runny stools. So, just be careful that there is not two issues here. Have you changed the dogs food at all?
You can google colitis and read up yourself, it may sound familiar to you.
Actually you are not supposed to allow a puppy full run of the house, it is overwhelming to them. One room at a time, limited space, supervised, and when he can behave in that space, he can graduate to more space, supervised of course. He should not be allowed to get under furniture, any place that has cords like computers and tv cords should be blocked off, and he shouldn’t be allowed to get under beds, he could get stuck and you might have to be the one to lift the bed and get him out. You might try cottage cheese, mashed bananas, yogurt, cooked scrambled eggs, or cooked plain rice to settle his stomach, but that won’t fix what is wrong, the vet will have to help you. Try and make sure he is drinking enough water so he stays hydrated. I hope he gets better.
