It was in an area with a candle shop and a reproduction furniture shop. Visited there 5-6 years ago but can’t find it on any web search.

My sister and I had two male parakeets about the ages of 5-6 years old. About 3 days ago, a cat had come in through the back door and toppled their cage off the stool and to the ground, in an obvious attempt to kill them. My sister witnessed this just as it was happening and scared the cat away before any more damage was inflicted. She described the birds as being very calm and unharmed right afterwards, despite their cage being a total mess. However, about a day or so later, we noticed that one of our birdies could barely fly. He was always an adventurer and he liked to leave the cage and fly about the kitchen and dining room, but he remained on the kitchen floor and hallways, crawling about for a couple hours, unable to fly back into his cage. I noticed that he was able to fly about a foot or 12 inches high, but then would come crashing back down to the ground. We managed to get him back in his cage manually, thinking that his wing(s) would heal within a matter of time. A couple days later, which is today, I peered into his cage to find him lying face down on the floor of his cage, dead. The other bird was flying around like normal, but my poor other bird was smack dead. Confused and distraught, as he was otherwise a very healthy bird living in a fine environment, I put him in a lined box so we can bury him later today. I have not yet told the rest of my family- they are all still asleep. What do you think the cause of his death was? =(

Hi everyone. Well heres the story, almost 2 years ago we moved into a new home. We know have a huge and beautiful backyard. We have a nice deck but we need some new furniture for it. The deck has two levels, a small lower level which is only a step down from the larger level which is the main area. Currently, on the lower deck we have our grill and a chair. I have designated this as a good area for the cooking. The larger deck area has a table with four chairs, a lounge chair and footstool and a few extra chairs and end tables. The problem is that all the furniture is crappy plastic stuff. We have had it for about 6 years and it just needs to go.
We are going to be re-painting the deck within the month so I really think new furniture would show off how great the backyard really is. We are on a budget though. So heres what I’m looking for you guys to help with:
*Dining Table (under 0 and not plastic lol)
*Chairs for table (4-6. under each)
*End table (1-2. under each)
*Extra chairs (1-2. under . not big lounge chairs just different from the dining chairs)
*Accessories (small things. under 0 total)

I would like to buy a new kitchen/dining room table.
I have two toddlers and hopefully will have another on the way soon, so it needs to seat at least 6. I want a table that is not tall (the kids fall ) and has no upholstrery (the kids spill), and does not have lots of cracks or glass to clean. A nice wood table would be good.

I can spend up to 1200 bucks. I would like it to last at least 6 years. Hopefully longer.

I have tried looking at several stores: JCPenneys (the tables were wobbley in the showroom)
The stool and dinette factory (the guy said they would break fast)
Ashley Furniture (they cant tell me what it is made of)
The roomstore (didnt see much that matched my description)
Lots of little stores around mesa and tempe az.

Any ideas of a good place to look for furniture?

I have a 14 year old male cat. Here is his history:

I adopted him 6 years ago from a friend who couldn’t take care of him any longer. He is fixed. He was overweight and prone to urinary tract infections. 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with diabetes. A couple thousand dollars later, 2 insulin shots a day and special diabetic food, his sugars have been controlled, he lost weight and has gone into remission (no longer considered diabetic) and for a year has been off his insulin.

I had a baby 9 months ago. The cats (I also have a 3 year old male and the cats gets along great) were both fine when the baby came home. About 3 months ago, the cat in question started pooping on our bed and our guest bed. We have since barred him from both rooms, and he seemed to be doing fine…until now. I just recently discovered that for the past week, he has been peeing on my baby’s pkayroom floor tiles. There is no way to stop him. I am scared to death that my baby will contract something from his urine (I know the ammonia can be dangerous for babies) and to be honest, I cannot afford to even bring the cat to the vet anymore since he’s already cost me thousands and costs me over 0 a month just in food as it is. I am not working as I am off with the baby, so funds are extremely limited.

What do I do? do I put him down? Is it worth bringing him to a shelter? Would anyone really want to adopt a 14 year old cat with a history of UTI’s, diabetes, peeing and pooping on the floor/furniture and a 0/month food bill?

Sorry about the confusion…the babie’s playroom is not her bedroom. She is never changed in the playroom, so there are no dirty diapers in this area. Also, this doesn’t expalin the pooping on the beds issue either.
Of course I have tried to see if anyone would be interested in adopting him, but nobody is. I live in a small community on an island with no humaine society, only 1 shelter. There are no foster programs in my community.
While I appreciate people are passionate about animals, please don’t compare a cat to a child, mother or any other human being. Asking me if my mother was dying of cancer would I put her down? Really. That’s going a bit far.

2 kids, 1 eight years old and the other one 6 were talking about that it time for them to swear, the older one says to the younger one "OK, I’ll say ‘hell’ and you’ll say ‘a$$’, Got it?" "Got it" says the 6 years old one. They went down stairs and meet thier mom in the kitchen, then she asks to the older brother "What do you want for breakfast?" I want a hell of a bowl of Cheeriros." The mom bakhanded him making him go bakwards off the stool then she turned to the younger one and asked hin, "Well, what you’ll having for breakfast?" and the younger brother says "I dunno, but you can bet your a$$ ain’t gonna be Cheerios."

I moved back home after 6 years of sweet independence after a breakup.It was supposed to be a 3 mo thing until my bro and I had money for furniture and such.He cannot keep a job or hold onto his money and so he is WAY behind on the deal.Its now been 8 mo of living there.My parents have "banned" us from doing certain things, like sleeping over at friend’s houses,going out too many nights during the week.We are on a family plan as far as the cell phones go,and b/c they suspected I was talking to/seeing my ex they looked at the records to see the numbers I had been calling and then confronted me about it.I have said many times that Im 25 and I pay rent to live here and I should be free to do what I please barring coming in wasted or hurting someone.I think this is a total invasion of privacy.They think Im ungrateful.They dont pay for the phone or anything else having to do with me.I have a friend who needs help with her mortgage and I need a place of freedom.
They think that they owe me no explaination about anything they do.They refuse to tell me how they know I talk to my ex even though I already know how.(they went online) My question is when is it too far?Do they have the right to know everything about everything in their adult child’s life?Do they have the right to institute rules and bannings?My friend needs help and I need a place, but I have much younger siblings that will be heartbroken when I go.They did know that it was temporary at the beginning and I was supposed to wait for my bro but he is really slacking and its been too long.I feel like I have to ask permission for things and ask for my freedom, and that bugs me.My parents are still very intimidating to me for some reason.How do I get the "balls" to really really tell them NO not "i have a problem with that" They say they are not controlling,I think otherwise.Im 25 have a great job for 7 yrs,earn good money,good work ethic,go to family things,nice person…any advice?

I have absolutely no idea how to explain this, but I’m going to try.

When I was 6 years old my father left to go to Bangkok to finish his PHD in Asian studies. My mother recently told me that she believes that he had an affair during the time he was in Bangkok.

He missed my 7th birthday, and sent me a T-Shirt about Thai Kick Boxing. That Christmas holiday, my mother, my sister and I went to Singapore to visit my mother’s relatives and spend Chinese new year with them.
The plan was, my father would come visit us, and fly back to Australia with us 2 weeks before school started.
Instead He told my mother that he didnt love her anymore, and flew back to Bangkok for another week.
My parents tried marriage counceling, but it failed, so my mother filed for a divorce.

Up until I was 12 My mother had full custody of me and my sister. One night he called me and told me that he had successfully divorced his second wife ( of whom I believe he had the affair with when I was 7 ). But of course I was over-joyed when I heard this news and immedietly asked him if I could live with him, and he said yes.

He left for Bangkok again a week before father’s day this year. But it turned out he didn’t have enough money for his trip, so he is currently staying in Perth with his mother.

I enquired about staying with him, because for all I know this could be the last time I see him..

I have lived with a man for 6 years. 5years ago he tore the inside of the house out. We only have a family room that is almost done. My kitchen is only 3 foot wide, no table, the bedrooms have no walls or doors, and his cats have used the whole house as their litter box. I am now dying from all the poisons of the urine on the furniture and the kerocene he uses to heat the house. I have been trying to move out, but he has also taken my money. Even the doctors have told him of my health is due to the house.

I have an employee who purchased a condominium 6 months ago. He’s married with 2 young boy 4-12. This family arrived from China about 6 years ago. They’re somewhat fluent in English. Anyway, their condominium neighbor is missing a nut in the head, this man harasses my employee and his family each single morning when they leave for work, he screams at them, threats them etc. I told my employee to call the police, we’ve tried to go threw the condo administration but they don’t want to get involved. Turns out the police don’t want to get involved either. These people live in terror, they have moved all their livingroom and kitchen furniture upstairs and basically live in their bedrooms.

What’s our next option?

6 years ago we put in hardwood floors. Unfortunatly, they have become very "distressed" under our kitchen stools.
is there a product …oil or wax..or something I can use to keep them looking better (short of refinishing them or useing tile/rugs) the rest of the floor is in perfect conditions…I have put felt pads under the stool legs to no avail.
