Help me choose a paint color!?

I need a little help choosing a paint color. I’m not looking for anything extreme, but I also don’t want a basic white/off-white color. Here’s a little background on my furniture/other accessories:

I have one large room which will be a living room on one end, and a dining room on the other end. I can divide up the two rooms by color, as well. My two couches are a light tan color with dark espresso wood legs. Also, the remainder of my wood furniture in the living room area (media tower, barstools, coffee table, end tables) are all the dark espresso finish. The only color I have for this space are red throw pillows and a red lamp with brass features. I was originally thinking a deep gray would work, but I’m not so sure. I can also buy other paintings/accessories to tailor to any wall color, as long as it goes with my existing furniture.

For the dining area, there is a bit more color. I have the same color scheme in the furniture (light tan cushions on the seats, dark espresso coffee table and bar). I also have red, orange and yellow in my accessories and art (orange and red in the main painting, red vases/glassware on the bar as decoration, and an orange table-runner with brown and tan candle assortments in a centerpiece). Any suggestions for this part of the room?

The only color I’m adament about staying away from is yellow, and I’d prefer for the color to not be too deep or too bold, unless it’s just an accent wall.

Thanks!

one time completely paneled with knotty pine. He has been doing son renovating and removed two of the paneled walls and replaced them with sheet-rock. He would ike to leave two paneled walls and paint them the same color as the sheet-rock walls. Question: Because this is a basement I want it to be light and bright. His furniture is dark blue leather. I was thinking of painting the walls white. There are 2 full size windows in the room. Would you agree or do you have another suggestion? Also, kitchen, natural slate tiled floor in charcoals grey with green and red accents. Walls are divided with a chair rail. One brick accent wall that I don’t want to paint, the red brick complements the red in the tile. Ideas for the walls please, I was thinking about a pewter grey for the lower wall and not sure of a color above the chair rail. Ideas appreciated!

I’m getting my house painted. I just received a quote. The guy told me 1 color was nice. Said others were nice 2, but wouldn’t coordinate w/ main color. The colors are Sherwin Williams Quixotic Plum as an accent wall in the family room and Mystic Mauve on the other walls. The main areas would be Latte. That’s where he said the clash is coming.

This is how downstairs flows: Entry way to a 2 story foyer Immediately in front of you on right, stairs. To the left formal area - living & dining. From that room, or a hall, you come to the kitchen w/ a bay eat in. All those wall will be in Latte. Then you come to the family room. The wall facing you will be Quixotic Plum. The others will be Mystic Mauve. His suggestion is to do it Latte and do the other formal room QP. (no furniture yet - wanted the formal red).

What is your opinion? Is 00 +200 4 paint bad? I’d say it’s 1300 sq ft area - plus upstairs hall. The trim would be white - said cheaper to touch up stairrail.
I didn’t like the MM, so trying exclusive Plum. it’s a shade darker. Also trying nomadic desert - 1 shade lighter than latte.

P.S.:

Mystic Mauve is a grayish-lavender - not pink @ all. Quixotic is a dark plum w/ a bluish-gray base. Latte is the color of the drink.

I have a living room i’m trying to decorate, it is part of an open floor plan so our kitchen and dining room is open to it also. There are two windows and a sliding door so even though there’s usually plenty of sunlight it can still feel like a cave at times. I want to know if my idea of paint for the walls is insane or doable and i’m open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I have dark coffee colored furniture. The kitchen counters are also coffee colored and so is the dining table. The carpet is a medium sand color and the linoleum in the kitchen/dining area is a mixture of coffee and tan/sandy colors. I know…sounds boring, it is, it needs color badly.

I am planning on doing a teal for the walls in the living room (not too bright, but bright enough) and decorating with touches of green and orange with hints of the blue throughout the living area and into the kitchen dining area to make it flow. Also, if I decide to not do the whole room in teal, but just an accent wall…what color should I go with for the rest of the room? I’m an artist and I usually have a knack for colors and what goes with what and I really think this will work but i’m really scared to mess it up, it’s my house not some throw away canvas. I want it to look nice and show off the bolder colors that I love.

I need a change and want to paint my living room and kitchen. The problem is that I have catheral ceilings and my kitchen, living room and dinning room are all open. The carpet in the living and dining room is burgundy and my furniture is a cream color, walls are currently a mauve color, I need a new color without having to replace the carpet right now. Would like all one color with an accent wall. Any suggestions?

We are looking for suggestions for wall color and we aren’t afraid of color (liking the deep & luxurious family of colors by CIL), although we don’t know exactly what are our style is?? We are in a fairly new home with white baseboards and ceiling; the floors are a light oaky laminate. We have an open concept with our living room, dining room and kitchen, and all these rooms get a lot of sunlight. I attempted to attach a picture of these rooms as well, but was unable.
In the kitchen backsplash ideas, the cabinets are light oak as well and the coun

tertops are a lighter grey with some speckles. Our appliances are stainless steel. Our current kitchen table is a light pine (do you see the trend here?). Our living room furniture is a dark burgundy leather couch, sage green chaise and dark brown coffee/end tables.
We would like to have an accent wall (long wall connecting living to dining room) and we like either the Pepper Spice or Cigar brown by CIL. What would be a good color to use on other walls? Do you have any other color combination suggestions? Also, would it work if I used the accent wall color on the kitchen backsplash ideas as well?
thanks,
