Okay sorry, this is hard to explain so I’ll do my best…

I removed the seat of the chair no problem but I cannot figure out how to get the back off. There are no visible screws on the back to hold it to the frame.

The backs were clearly assembled into one piece *before* being put on the chair frame because the decorative brads (which I’ve removed) continue under the bars of the frame. Each bar has 2 "connection points" that I can’t tell what they are. There appears to be a washer along with what I assume is a screw.

I removed the brads just to check, but I still can’t get to whatever is holding the backs on. The brads only hold a piece of cardboard covered in vinyl to the back.

This is a kind of small picture, but this looks almost identical to my frame. (Don’t know if it’s helpful.)

So how do I take this thing apart? The vinyl is cracked very badly and needs to be replaced. Also, What is the name for the little feet on the chair legs and how do I remove these:

Two of the chairs have plastic caps on the feet and two have these things. I’d like them to all match. Thanks so much and 10 points for the best answer!!
And your answer, Adolph, is why idiots shouldn’t attempt to answer questions. Since you clearly don’t know the answer either, don’t waste my time.
It’s not really a problem if I have to cut through the vinyl/padding to get to the rivet since the padding needs to be replaced on a couple of the chairs anyway. If I do this, how can I remove the rivet? It feels like this must be doable because the website I linked to before sells this sort of frame to be used with the original seats and backs.

I wouldn’t think the feet are welded on just because half of the chairs don’t have them. Any other ideas anybody?

–2 bar stools (metal & suede w backs) They are really pretty cost me each last year.
–Cloth Sofa- average size, all the cushions, good condition. Paid 0 for it at Ikea basement last year
–Queen bed frame- oak, platform style, sits on floor w/ headboard, footboard, and side rails. Paid 0
–Dresser- oak wood matches bed frame, 5 drawer. Paid 0

I have looked everywhere..I just want the cheap, plastic patio sets with the tables (w/removable legs) & chairs… I have looked everywhere - Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc. & I can’t find them on any of their websites. Do you think if I go into the stores I might find them? Help! Having housewarming BBQ in June & I have nowhere for people to sit outside.

BTW…is it rude to ask guests to take of their shoes when they come in my house? LOL.

Over the years, I’ve heard hundreds (if not thousands) of people state they like Burger King hamburgs but don’t like their fries. They further state their desire for Burger King hamburgers with McDonalds fries. However, your average person is not going to travel to both restaurants and wait for each item as the other gets cold. This is where my ingenious idea comes to play. I will reconstruct my kitchen room & dining room into restaurant fully equipped with tables, stools & chairs. I’m going to hire 2 teenagers that will travel to McDonalds for fries & Burger King for Burgers every half hour. This brings the 2 products to the customer – nicely, quickly & hot!!!! What I need at this point is information where to buy the large McDonald and Burger King signs they have outside their restaurants to put outside my house. Without getting into further detail, I have advertising, marketing and investment ideas for this plan as well. So, does anyone know where I can purchase these outdoor signs? I also may me looking for 1 or 2 more investors.

My father and I are huge football fans, and we go out to College Station every Saturday in the fall to watch the Texas A&M home football games. We have a pretty awesome tailgate setup so far, with a tent, bar b que, rings chairs and an abundance of coolers. We have decided that we need a TV to make it complete. The problem is that we have cable and you cannot get a satellite dish unless you have DirecTV for your home. How can we get a satellite dish so we can watch TV at our tailgate?

There was no hint that things were amiss till 2 days before we broke up. I have given her everthing she has demanded, except my house. White goods, kitchen apliances, tv, computers, dvd, furniture, anything she ever gave me over 4 yrs. In the last 6months, we wasted 000 of my money, (that I did call our money). I have paid to move her stuff (I had to pack it for her) She refuses to comunicate other then by third party.I have just come home to a stack of bills all in my name. It has been 7weeks & every day she has some new inovative way, to make me feel pain. If I love & care for someone, I don’t like that to change. I am a good friend to most of my ex’s. I do not want to indroduce, nasty thoughts into my head. I don’t understand the point of revenge much. If I don’t feel hateful & I don’t. The feelings that are left are hurting me, I can’t sleep. I have been in a relationship now for about 2 years… I am 34 & my gf is 27. In this time we had a lot of ups & downs but we love each other a lot. We are/were basically inseparable.

Recently my gf changed jobs & met other girls in her office. She met one girl in particular who goes bare hopping every week. Me & my gf were never into that. Now this person asks/influences my gf to go out & I am seeing less & less of her. Her co-worker is leaving her bf after 5 years tomorrow (seems she wanted her freedom also)… I am discouraged & cannot talk to her about it.

We live together & have bought furniture. She is not willing to compromise & tells me she wants to be "free". I cannot cage her so I think I will have to break this before it gets nasty… We have stuff to pay off but she seems to think bars are more important…

I think she is immature, unreasonable & influenced. We have stuff to pay & I will not stay home waiting for her to come in at all hours. Am I unreasonable?

I’m 34wks & 2days pregnant with #2. I had preterm labor at 31wks and had it stopped with Terbutaline. I have felt okay since then, but this last week has been absolutely miserable, and just got 10times worse today. I have done a lot of sleeping this week, and all of a sudden yesterday I went on a cleaning kick and cleaned my entire house. Rearranged furniture & the whole kitchen to accomodate all the babies stuff. Today, I woke up again tired, and just feeling terrible. Headache, Very tired, Whole body just aches, nautiousness (spelling?), chest pain, having trouble breathing, dizzyness (even when just sitting still), cramping in my abdomen & even ocassionaly in my vagina area (sorry TMI), lots of pressure down low, and constant back pain. Is it normal to feel this uncomfortable at 34 weeks???
i have an appt tomorrow, so i’m tryin not to panic. i can talk to him tomorrow, but i feel just soooo miserable.

This is not meant to be accusative, only informative. I hear so much about how hard it is to be a stay-at-home spouse or parent, but I rarely hear details about what makes it so hard. I don’t pretend that it’s easy, but no one has ever taken the time to explain what they do.

So here’s another chance. Do they actually vacuum every day and cook three meals every day and do laundry every day? What are the chores that need to be done? Does everything really need to be done every single day?

For example, it’s my day off; I just cleaned the entire apartment (vacuumed the carpets, washed the bathrooms, wiped down the kitchen, dusted the furniture), and it’s not even 10 AM yet. If I were a stay-at-home spouse, I would be bored to tears until she comes home in 7 hours.

As a disclaimer, I don’t personally know any stay-at-homes, otherwise I would be asking them instead of Yahoo! Answers. No, I am not married, have four pets (2 cats, 2 dogs), no children, and I live with my girlfriend.
We both work (I have a traditional M-F, 8-5), and she works F-W afternoons & evenings.

Here’s are examples of absolutely USELESS responses: "Wait until you have kids, then you’ll know!" or "Why don’t you try taking care of my kids and see if you think it’s easy!"

I don’t suspect it’s easy, and I’m posting the question so that I don’t HAVE to find out everything by myself (isn’t that the point of Yahoo! Answers, anyway?).

I also don’t agree that it’s a 24/7 job (even if we had kids at home). My girlfriend and I both share household duties, but they’re split somewhat unequally based on what we prefer. I do the cooking (I enjoy it and I’m better at it), and she does the laundry (there was an incident where I had to use a mop and now I’m not allowed to touch the washer).
I imagine that when/if we ever get married/procreate that she may decide to stay home (I earn about twice as much as she does). But I’ve never felt that she should perform all the household chores by herself, only when I’m at work. When I get home, I expect to help out on chores that she can’t do or really didn’t have time for or really didn’t want to do (cooking, fixing car, taking out trash), as well as help take care of the kids.

So if her job is 24/7, then I would really have TWO jobs. An 8-5 outside the home, and the same job as her inside the home. Is this really that unusual to split the housework this way?

It’s true that I hadn’t distinguished between stay-at-home spouses and stay-at-home parents. That’s for you to disclose.

Maybe it’s because I saw how miserable my parents were when my father would come home from work and never do shit around the house while my mother worked part-time and took care of cooking, shopping and cleaning.
A lot of excellent responses already. My girlfriend and I have discussed this before, but I thought I’d reach out for input from those that have been there (her mother never stayed home either) to help alleviate my admitted lack of knowledge on the topic.

I also don’t mean to suggest that caring for children is easy or not-time consuming. I’ve babysat for kids before (ages 4-13) and it wasn’t difficult, but I concede that’s not all day, every day; they weren’t my kids, it was only for a few hours at a time, and none of them were infants.

I am in the middle of painting, the front door needs replaced any ideas? the floor needs some kind of rug any ideas there? window coverings? decorations, pillows what not, the tv will be replaced next spring with a plasma or other type and unit will get refinished. end table suggestions? I have 2 kids and a dog but they are nice and neat(my 2 year old cleans her room every day, my dog stays in the kitchen till she is told she can come out after coming in from a muddy day) I just need decorating ideas, all furniture stays, we would like to add more, this is our first house, the ceiling is being painted in parchment paper, walls in raffia cream, trim, end wall in gobi desert all by behr, floor is the color of the wood we sanded off all the stain, we will get more trim as soon as we go get it made, the original stuff was eaten in a few places by old owners dogs, thanks

I have a color picked out for the kitchen/breakfast nook. It’s Edgy Gold from SW. I need something for the family room and it needs to coordinate. I tried SW Anjou Pear and it’s too yellow, I’m looking for somthing more golden. What do you think of SW Golden Fleece or maybe Butternut. I wish I could post pictures so you could see the fabrics I choose for the windows. The have golden browns, reds and greens in them. We also have a stone fireplace so I don’t want to go too brown and have the fireplace blend in. One last issue is that it is open to the foyer and a hallway. I’m trying to avoid having a different color in each area. I did that in my last house and got tired of it. I want something that flows.

My next "problem area" is the master suite. I have traditional Cherry furniture with red & gold bedding and curtains. I’m thinking SW Svelte Sage as an accent but I’m stuck for the other 3 walls. I want something warm and the room is large enough to handle a dark color
