What element in the kitchen is the sink supposed to coordinate with? I have medium brown cabinets and wood floors, mostly beige (with little brown and very little black mixed in) tile countertops and backsplash and black/stainless appliances. The appliances have a high gloss sheen on the black parts, so I was thinking of doing a glossy black kitchen sink. What are your suggestions?

The receptacles are on the backsplash of a 10ft. bar housed by the framework. Do I need the receptacles to be in the weatherproof boxes/cover or can I use the cheap blue boxes with covers? What is my best option?
PS Yes, I am planning on introducing a GFCI.

I’m a thirty-year-old single guy. I like dogs, the outdoors, my Jeep Wrangler, autumn, good wine, travel, photography…
I’m trying to integrate my "likes" into my home. I have painted my living/dining room two colors of khaki, and a chalkboard-green wall. I have a brown leather couch, and walnut tables and bookcases. I’ve also remodeled my guest bathroom – new flooring, hardware, paint, etc.
However, I’m trying to get ideas on decorating… accent pieces, dining room furniture, bedroom furniture (blank slate right now) and my own bathroom. I need help finding websites for "bachelor pads" and masculine design (not a lot of flowery-things). I’d like to redo the kitchen with the small tiles as a backsplash.
I’d like to find websites/books/magazines that show off a masculine home. Pictures are a must!!
The main goals are to have a cool guy’s house and up the resale value.
Serious responses only… any help is appreciated. Thanks!
As I said, folks… I need pictures, websites, magazines, etc. While I appreciate the suggestions, does no one know of ANY place to LOOK at pictures to get ideas? That’s what I’m wanting.

I mainly wanted to replace the counter and bar now made with white tiles (the sink is now facing the counter bar and breakfast nook); replace the backsplash which is now just painted white with stainless steel or decorated tiles; level down the bar to the sink level and make the widened counter as the new eatery; get rid of my breakfast nook table, and refinish or paint cabinets. The total length of my kitchen from the back of the refrigerator to the wall where the breakfast nook window is 18.25 feet. Had anyone done something similar to this in a very tight budget? Could you please provide pointers? Thank you.

Hello – I have just moved into my first home, which is very exciting! It is a renovated 1911 smaller home and I think the kitchen is in need of a backsplash but have no idea what kind would look best. Would love any suggestions! Thank you

My husband really love the look of the stone veneer and want to put it in our kitchen going from the bar and extended into the backsplash of our kitchen. The only thing is I’m pretty sure we can’t just slap it on the drywall. How would we go about securing it to the drywall we have now? Do we have to rip out the drywall and install something else? Any information would help thank you! Oh and we would really like to do it ourselves to keep costs down.
