People are always complaining about the bar stools that I have in my bar. "My butt hurts, these chair suck". THe complaining was driving me nuts.

I was going to go buy some padding for them, but I thought that would look tacky, and I dont have enough money to buy new stools. So I went to the bars&billiards place asking if they had any stool softeners, and the jerk just laughed at me and said "very funny, try Walgreens". What the hell was his problem?

So I flipped him off, punched him in the throat, and left to go to the Wal. I bought 20 boxes of this stool softener, I rubbed them into the wood of the stools and nothing happened. The wood is still hard.

Is it supposed to soak in somehow? Do I need to get it wet to make it activate?

I am painting my kitchen and using old country/farm vintage kitchen ideas-the walls are avocado green and the cabinets are barn red-and with a little distress in the wood. I need something to make all of this stand out and come together-I have bar stools at the bar and a small 4 chair table in there also. Thought of maybe doing something with the bar stools-(thought of painting them beige with brownish cow spots-or painting the table with a personalized theme-maybe our name painted in the center-but I really liked the bar stool thing-my kids said it would look cheesy

Looking for Bar Ideas?

I’m looking to start a bar and I need some ideas for the interior. I want to do maybe a pub type bar and I would really appreciate any suggestions for tables, bar stools, chairs, wall decor, paint, etc…

Thanks!
L
we’ve got a place that’s pretty much ready to go. I just need to find stuff for the inside!

I have a small, rectangular eat in kitchen that opens up into my long, narrow living room. Right now, I don’t have much counter space or storage. Maybe 4 feet of continuous counter space, with a little on both sides of the stove. We are about to have a custom kitchen island installed (about 4 ft. in length) that would give us more counter space and storage. The back of the island will be raised to provide an eating area and long enough to accommodate four bar stools. However, if we put the kitchen island in, it will take up the space where the table is and a table will no longer be able to go in there. I don’t have a separate dining room. However, with the kitchen opening up into the back end of my narrow living room, it would allow somebody to use that area of the living room as a dining area, except the fireplace is on that end as well, which means the table would be in front of fireplace (don’t know if that would make a difference to anybody). I’m wondering if the pros of a nice custom kitchen island with seating would outweigh the cons of not being able to have the kitchen table in there anymore? I love to cook but don’t anymore because of the lack of counter space in my kitchen. I would definitely enjoy my kitchen more with the island. However, we will be putting it on the market w/in the next five years so I need to keep the future salability in mind too.

Any answers or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How to create a Modern Bar at Home?

I just moved in a new place and I’m trying to create a modern design in every single space which is what i always wanted.
Now that I have the money to do so I bought many great products and spent a lot of time choosing colors and styles.
I finally arrived to the kitchen in which I have some extra space so I thought about creating a bar space for morning breakfasts with family or to have few drinks when friends are passing by.

That being said, I need to choose a bar table and some bar stools matching it.
Since I am focused on Modern Designs I went on a website name FineBarStools (http://www.finebarstools.com) which offers a pretty awesome collection of modern furniture.

About the Bar Table, I am actually hesitating between 2 of them :
- The Chardonnay Table which is a hit but seems to be have a top a little small for breakfasts (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-621111-Chardonnay-Bar-Table_1097388492.html)
- The Lemon Drop Counter Table which is a little shorter but has a bigger top (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-601102-Lemon-Drop-Counter-Table_1097388490.html)
My concern is one of them really has a bar style and the other is in between dining and bar.
Which one would provide me the coolest style at home?

About the Bar Stools, it’s even worse because to many choices are offer in there …
- Barber Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-300160-Barber-Bar-Stool_1097599232.html) : This stool only offers one color (white which will match the colors choose for my bar … black, white, red) but this bar stool seems strong and easy to clean. It’s also a swivel one with a back.
- Butcher Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-300280-Butcher-Bar-Stool_1097599277.html) : This one has a great look but it’s a backless bar stool …
- Topsy Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-301301-Topsy-Bar-Stool_1097388483.html) : Bar stool with a back, available in black but in leather (so a little harder to clean than the Barber bar stool). However I truly love the design of it.
Should I focus only on the design, should I get backless bar stools to gain space ?
Is the white color a real bad choice since it’s showing dirt easily ?

Haaaaaa !!!!!!!
If I spend more time thinking about that I’m quite sure to get bold before to be 30 years old so I’m looking for advices from people who already created their own bar and made mistakes.
I desperate right ’cause I just can’t take a decision so tell me what’s your thoughts and I hope it will help me make up my mind !!

What colour would you choose?

My kitchen cupboards are white, my floor is light greenish/grey, and I have dark green/black granite style bench top (counter top). What colour would you choose, for the bar stools (with backs) that will sit around the centre bench top? The legs of the bar stools are black steel (which ties in with the black blinds and black and dark green bench top, but I can’t make up my mind as to whether or not I should play it safe, by ordering the seat and backs of the chairs (the leather/vinyl) in black/grey like the blinds, or same dark green/black (very close) as bench top, or burgundy/black for a tiny bit of colour to the kitchen (assuming that I will add a couple of other burgundy decorative vases, or dried flowers, or anything decorative in that colour, to the kitchen area. My daughter is saying that a little bit of colour in the kitchen will look good, as well as tie in with our burgundy curtains, which are in the dining room next to the kitchen….even though the burgundy bar stools will be the only thing in a burgundy/black colour in the kitchen. What would you order?

i’ve been going to my local bar for years and never had a problem. so i was there tonight and had enjoyed 4 or 5 beers with my husband while sitting at the bar in a high bar stool. my back started to hurt since i am 7 months pregnant and i have sit uncomfortably on those bar stools, so i asked the bar tender if i could bring a normal, short chair with a back over from one of the tables. he said no and told me that only tall stools were allowed at the bar itself. is that discrimination against me because i am pregnant? if i was disabled and in a wheelchair then i don’t think they could tell me that i can’t be by the bar, and there’s not much difference between that and a person in a normal chair

is it so they can fall off their bar stools all night long?

Things found in a bar/pub?

I’m designing my room like a bar/pub and I need to get things that ‘fit the scene’. So far I’m planning on using wood patterned wall paper on the walls (duh) and I want to get a pool table, dart board/cabinet, neon signs, high table, bar stools, posters and like, a home bar .

That’s all I can think of, what are someother things I could get? (not overly expensive)

Rate my joke I made up :3?

Rate my joke from 1-10. Here it is: Justin Bieber Walks into a bar, and asks to use a restroom. The bartender replies ‘over there young lady" in a serious tone. Being the "Genius" justin is, he walks cockily to the bar, and says "Exuse me?" in a tough guy voice. The bartender then says "i said the ladies restroom is over there." in a serious tone again. Justin then gets on one of the bar stools and stands to become level with the bartender. Justin asks "you trying to pitch a fight tough guy?" The bartender tells him to get off the chair and asks him where his mother is. justin then proceeds to kick a bottle of beer over, and runs out of the bar, leaving a trail of urine behind him. a minute after justin runs out, a man runs in asking if he just saw an olson twin in the bar.

I was looking at some websites to buy bar stools with a modern and unique design and I ended up on this one which was the best i found so far : http://www.finebarstools.com
So i went in the bar stools category and selected 2 products that i really liked :
- Chalice bar stool : http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-301311-Chalice-Bar-Stool_1097402407.html
- Flute bar stool : http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-301320-Flute-Bar-Stool_1097388479.html
I looked at many other websites trying to find a better price but none of them were offering a better price!!
The only websites which offered these products at a better price weren’t offering the free shipping so in the end the price was equal or higher …
I think i am going to purchase my bar stools on this website but before to do so I would like to know if anyone knows a website offering better prices than this one ??
Thanks for your help!

I am in the process of designing/building a home bar in our basement. Most of the basement will be carpeted, but the area behind the bar and immediatly in front of it will be tiled. My question is how far in front of the bar needs to be tiled to comfortably allow for people to sit in bar stools placed on the tile surface?

modern bar stools durable?

Are today’s modern bar stools made worth a darn? I’ve seen some in the dorm that look like if someone who weighed more that 150 pounds sat on them they would fall apart
