Our old slide-in range is about 20 years old, located in the island with drywall behind it and barstools behind that. We are getting a new slide-in range next week and have been told that it needs venting room behind it. Can we just knock out some of the drywall under the counter? It’s all "empty space" behind the range.

How can I make my barstool taller?

I bought some barstools off craigslist for a steal but they are a little too short for my bar. they are light metal frame painted black. Is there any way to add up to 5 inches and keep them stable? I know that they are not extenable legs… Any tips? Or should I go buy new ones?
The bar is part of the kitchen. It extends from the wall, so making that shorter is impossible. plus, im sure my landlord wouldn’t be too thrilled. But the wheels sound interesting hopefully not too dangerous…..I’ll head to lowes today. Please keep the idea’s coming.

Are backless contemporary bar stools comfortable?

Many have a little lip at the back which serves very well to provide enough support I think, do you?

(In reply to the first answer)

I’m not selling these barstools. I want something elegant as on this website–no logos.

Thank you for your answer!

What should we do tonight as a couple?

My mom offered to watch the kids tonight as we haven’t been out as a couple in over 3 months. I have no idea what we should do–out to a nice dinner and some dancing, or park our butts on barstools and watch a game–any game? Movie? Bowling? what would you do?

Can you eat on top of the counter tops in sims 2?

I remember playing a family where there were barstools in front of the counter tops, and the sims would eat on the counter tops. How do you get that… is it even possible?

Where can I find Hamm's Beer brand Barstools?

I am looking for barstools. And I want the ones from Hamm’s Beer. I can’t seem to find them anywhere. Any ideas of where to find them?

Noticing that barstools come in a million different heights.

We are looking for a comfortable height where we could eat at the counter.

Usually no one comes to visit me, and when I rarely do have company, it’s just one person. I’m moving into an apartment by myself. I feel that I should invest into a nicer dining room set one day when I get married and move into a house with a dining room. I have a small dining room, the kind you typically have in a 2 bedroom apartment. If more than one person comes, we’ll just have to eat in the living room or something. Does it make sense to you for me to just have the bar table and 2 barstools or should I buy a cheaper set with 4 chairs?

help with decorating living room?

I’ve been trying to get my living room set up the way I like it and I accomplished that, but I noticed there isn’t much color at all. The walls are a tan color, the carpet is brown. All the furniture is creme/brown wood colored. My loveseat has both blue and a pale red in it as well as the tan. Also in the living room are a glider/rocker which is primarily blue (with wood) and that’s about it for color. I also have a papasan chair and two barstools which sit at the bar between the living room and the kitchen. Right off the living room is the kitchen (it’s a mobile home) which has a deep red color around the countertops and pale blue curtains (it’s actually the same blue as in the glider rocker and in the loveseat.
Basically I want to liven it up a bit mostly in the living room, but perhaps a little in the kitchen as well. I plan on getting rid of my old curtains which are basically white bath towels with a maroon valance. I want to put up deep red curtains to match the trim on the bar adjacent in the kitchen. Here are some pictures to show how it looks now. It’s usually not this messy though!
Any suggestions for adding a splash of color? I like the texture pattern on the walls so I don’t plan on painting them, I also just put this carpet down so I can’t really go back on that eaither. So the colors I’m working with are a deep red/maroon and a pale blue along with all the browns/tans from the carpet and furniture. Any suggestions? Perhaps fake plants or some pillows? I also have access to lots of carpet, so perhaps I could make/or purchase a nice big rug to pull it all together. I am willing to move my furniture around if anyone feels it would better suit the room. Also willing to take criticism about furniture, and to eliminate pieces all together as you see fit. here is a link to my photobucket images of the rooms and of the loveseat

Toddlers and night time sleeping habits?

My 27 month old has been in a todder bed since 21 months. She’s doing very well with it and sleeps like a champ. She almost always goes to bed on the first or second try, and wakes up once or not at all. We keep her bedroom door closed and everything in there is safe. Outlets are covered, furniture is bolted to the wall, nothing breakable or small toys within reach. However, we are entertaining the idea of leaving her door open at night now. The problem is, the layout of our home is basically, she has to walk through the main part of the house to get to our bedroom. Meaning, by the bar ( heavy barstools), by the dining room (heavy torch lamp) and past the living room (lamps and furniture she could climb on. We have the kitchen gated off so she cannot get to cleaners, knives, etc. We are just paranoid she will hurt herself somehow, but we don’t want to keep her confined to her room. She’s not pottytrained yet, but even so, she has her own bathroom attached to her room so that wouldn’t be an issue. Any ideas??

Well my boyfriend visits me once a month and always spends the weekend. Naturally, we get "intimate" with each other while he is here. I live in a 4 bedroom apartment and we all have our own rooms (2 on each side of the place). I try my absolute hardest to be as quiet as possible when they are home because I know that it would be both awkward for me and them. I turn on the tv pretty loud and we try so hard to make sure the bed doesn’t make noises. The roommate that lives on the same side as me does not like me whatsoever. I have tried so hard to act nicely towards her, but she has an angry temper and has even knocked over the barstools in her anger. I do my best to tell her days beforehand when my boyfriend plans on visiting, but she still has a problem that he comes. (I pay the same rent she does and we either stay locked in my bedroom or go out). We try our best to stay out of sight. I am always nervous because she has my moms cell number.. I dont know how to handle this. Any advice?
Naturally my parents do not know that he comes to see me. Yes, we are old enough to be responsible for our own sex lives (so please, I would appreciate it if you didn’t submit answers telling me how horrible I am because we aren’t married. I am not looking for your religious insight.) Point is, we are old enough; however, my parents do not know that he comes to visit me, or that we are intimate with eachother. Which is why I am nervous that my soon to be ex-roommate has saved my moms number this whole year. Also, I am moving out and I would like for her to delete my moms number, as she should no longer need it. She is the kind of person who, months from now, even though we no longer live together, would call my mom out of spite and spill the beans about me and my bf. In addition to my previous question, any advice about how to ask her to delete my moms number would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =]

what’s the name of this painting?

City streets, most likely someplace like New York or Chicago. The photo shows a bar with a guy and I think a lady, the guy wearing a suit with a bartender possibly wiping down the bar. It’s from an outside view of the bar looking in through some windows. I don’t know if there is actually a lady or not I’m just going from faint memory here. The barstools are red I think, along with the roof of the building. There is a yellow glow from the bars lights and everything around the building is pretty dark ‘cept the yellowness. There is some lettering on top of the building I just forget what it says :/

It’s an awesome painting, I just forget it’s name. I think I gave a somewhat good description, I can picture it perfectly in my head. Someone help… please…
