I have a large/wide 2′ 7" wicker basket my x-bf bought me in mexico that is in a natural light color with a slight shine to it & would like to color it a rich brown-red color like my other bedroom furniture. Have no idea what will stick on this material permanently. Can I do this myself? What to do?

living room and bedroom furniture? I need to buy: sectional sofa, coffee table, bar, kitchen table and chairs, artwork, area rug, queen size bedroom set, mirrors, etc. How much do you think I can expect to spend? And should I finance or pay in full?
Thanks.

Okay, so here’s the case:
I have a family member (druggie) who took his kid, and moved to another state to be with my family members family. (Grandparents) my grandmother was passing away and in the hospital. Well my grandma was able to come home (wheel chair bound) and she was fine other than weighing 80lbs and being unable to walk. We think she had stomach cancer along with strokes/heartattacks. Well this childs mother hasn’t seen him or made an attempt to see him in the past 3 years. She hasn’t even called to talk to him except once! This kid is now 6. This childs mother has 4 other kids who she has nothing to do with. They live with their father. Well the father/mother of this child are still legally married. Both parties had sexual relationships and the mother was engaged during this whole thing. And infact she stated " I’m not coming to get ___ (childs name) and I’m not paying for a bus ticket for the child and that wed have to either pay for the tickets and take him to her OR drive him up there. When he came down he had NO clothes! NO toys. Infact he had a hanger with duct tape! So as soon as we picked up him and his father we went and bought him clothes/bedroom furniture/toys/etc. I taught him his abcs/counting/writing/reading. He was 3 and didn’t know any of it. His sister (dads child from previous marriage) came and got pissed due to him calling me big sister. His dad goes to bars/drinks/drives and he was always at my house until a military move. Now she wants custody of him-seems as if its only to hurt our family. That kid is my grandpas pride and joy and he lives with my grandpa monday-friday and if anything happens or she takes him from my grandpa he’s threatened to hurt himself. His moms engaged, had no interest in the child, or her other kids. And she’s collecting child support when the kid doesn’t live with her. Do I have a right to be pissed about this. This lady has nO intention of allowing this side of the family to see him.

ok so my mom got married a year ago and her and my new step dad had already built this nice house for us to stay in once they got married. my stepdad had already been living in it for about a year and a half before they got married. We didn’t actually even start to move into the house until 5 months after the wedding. so let me describe the house, my stepdad and my mom had already been buying furniture for their room, bathrooms, closet, kitchen, garage, bar are, den: including like 5 plasmas, his office space, dining room, a public study, and they had already had people start tending to the lawn for flower beds every-once and a while, it is a pretty big house the only thing they never thought o buy before we started living there was stuff for my room their child, i was never even asked what i wanted, but i did constantly say i wanted a tv in my bedroom. my mom did go out and get me a nice tv for my room but my stepdad said that i wouldn’t need it until my room was set up; so she returned it. so on the first night we stayed over here my mom and i started bring over our stuff from our old house little by little. so i have clothes in my closet and stuff for my bathroom needs toothbrush etc. i ask my mom on the first night when im getting my bedroom furniture she says in 3-4 weeks, i was like ok that wont be too bad, i just had to sleep on an air mattress for a while. 4 weeks come and go and still no furniture, so i ask my mom and she says "oh well we haven’t ordered it yet". and i was like why and she said its because you(me) haven’t told us what you like and i said anything it wouldn’t matter as long as i get a decent bed and stuff so i can have an actual room. at this point i still had clothes, bathroom stuff and the air mattress but i got a small bubble wrap box from a closet and have since been using it as a night stand: that has my alarm clock and many other things on it. so in my linen closet which should only hold towels and sheets for a bed \ i not only have that stuff but all the clothes that should go in a dresser and it is quite a mess. now my bathroom sink is becoming like the top of my dresser cause i need a place to put my daily thing or thing s i want to keep out but my mom gets mad at me and says i keep clutter on my sink along with daily self cleaning stuff that she wants me to put under my sink but there no point if i will need it tomorrow morning.
but anyways i choose a bedroom furniture i like and my mom was like ok we’ll get it, so another 2 months go by and still nothing. my mom start to complain how there is always stuff on the floor, stuff disorganized in my linen closet, and i say "well it wouldn’t be that way if i had some furniture" and she says "well maybe if you showed that you can keep a clean room we’ll get you some". WTF. so i try and keep a clean room but with school, football, and my former part time job i don’t find enough time to clean but i do find time once a week maybe ad its clean for about a day.
so now its near the end of october and coming up on the 7th month without getting anything for my room its starting to make me a bit depressed and unloved plus that added with the fact my mom wants to yell at me about everything from school to not having my license yet and i have changed schools leaving all my friends. im a very good kid that does everything im toold by adults and im very respectful its hard to be in a place where it should show your personality and all thats in it is an air mattress and a box. its embarrassing and makes me sad when i see my friends rooms with stuff on their walls and an overall cool room. im starting to lose it with her someone give me advise on what to do please?

My fiance and I are looking into buying a condo. We are both 20 years old (Engaged, but taking our time!!). Together we have most of the furniture items that we will need (including beds, bedroom furniture, living room furniture and kitchen-ware such as silverware, pots, pans, plates, cups..etc… the only essentials that we are missing will be a couch!! and a kitchen table/chairs!! which we will get on our own.
My grandma said that once we move in, she wants to throw us a little house warming with family and some very close family friends (people we refer to as aunt and uncle, that sourta deal).. She said that in the invitations she’ll list a few gift suggestions (bathroom towels, dish-towels, curtians) along with some details about our new home (colors etc…)
I hate asking people for gifts, and at the same time I know that this would help a lot!!
Is this rude though?? Do people usually bring gifts to a house warming??

I have a male Shih Tzu, he’s about 2 yrs. old, neutered, and very much loved. However, everytime he sees a bed he immediately pees or poops on it. We have tried everything…now when his is in the house he is confined in the kitchen/laundry room w/ no hope of parole. How do I break this bizzarre fixation he has with bedroom furniture? It’s driving me crazy!!! Help!

My family is moving from Louisiana to Tennessee. I looked into PODS, but they don’t operate in our area of Ten. (Cookeville). It would cost us roughly 0 to use U-Haul and to pack ourselves and this isn’t including gas. Does anyone know of any other ways? We set aside only 00 for the move. We have a 3 bedroom house to move, but no big kitchen items (like fridge and washer and dryer), just living room and bedroom furniture and other household items. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I’m a thirty-year-old single guy. I like dogs, the outdoors, my Jeep Wrangler, autumn, good wine, travel, photography…
I’m trying to integrate my "likes" into my home. I have painted my living/dining room two colors of khaki, and a chalkboard-green wall. I have a brown leather couch, and walnut tables and bookcases. I’ve also remodeled my guest bathroom – new flooring, hardware, paint, etc.
However, I’m trying to get ideas on decorating… accent pieces, dining room furniture, bedroom furniture (blank slate right now) and my own bathroom. I need help finding websites for "bachelor pads" and masculine design (not a lot of flowery-things). I’d like to redo the kitchen with the small tiles as a backsplash.
I’d like to find websites/books/magazines that show off a masculine home. Pictures are a must!!
The main goals are to have a cool guy’s house and up the resale value.
Serious responses only… any help is appreciated. Thanks!
As I said, folks… I need pictures, websites, magazines, etc. While I appreciate the suggestions, does no one know of ANY place to LOOK at pictures to get ideas? That’s what I’m wanting.

I’ve just bought my own house and I have bedroom furniture that looks very "oriental"…japanese, so I decided to decorate it with japanese style items. Also, my kitchen has a "south of france" feel to it because of the tiles and textures in generals…how do you like your home to be? Does it really have to be a "theme"? Is it working only if you’re passionate about a certain style? How are your own homes?

I moved in with a friend and co-worker 10/08. At the time of move in a contract was not written nor was it ever written during my time there. The verbal agreement at time of move in was that I would pay 1/3 of the monthly rent on the 10th of each month and 1/3 of the bills, nothing was spoken about giving a 30 day notice to her if I chose to leave. Due to recent events I have moved due to me not feeling safe in the home anymore. My roommate would not give me a house key as she never locked the door, she would bring home random guys from the bar, she has done illiegal drugs in the home that we shared, and she never cleaned (none of which I knew upon move in). Upon leaving there was dog poop in her room and vomit on her bed that has been there for weeks, in addition to that the basment smelled like cat pee as her cat is no longer using the litterbox as my roommate never cleans it, that doesn’t even to begin to describ how disgusting this house is. Her dog also had bloody diaherria on my bedroom furniture that I had to clean as she was out drinking, another one of her dogs ate ALL my dogs very expensive food and ruined the container that I kept the food in which she never replaced like she said she would, and she evicted my small dog due to her large banned breeded dog attacking her and she would not help with any of the medical bills (were not much as I work as a vet clinic but money still came out of my pocket). My parents convinced me yesterday to move out today. Today I moved out without telling her as she was out drinking the night before and did not come home therefore I was not able to infom her about me moving out the next day. Before I left I cleaned the room spotless. When my roommate got home she was very upset and called me while I was on my way to my parents home to unload my belongins from my car. She was very hostel on the phone and I informed her that I am giving her a 11 day notice that I was leaving. Even though I am no longer living there I am going to allow her to keep the remaining 11 day rent (approx 5) for bills that I may owe. My roommate is now threating to take me to small clams court even though there is no documentation about an agreement. I also recieved a text message from her informing me that if I went around telling everyone at work that she is doing drugs she would also sue me for slander, which I would not do as my work is a place of business not a high school. Please leave any legit referances as this will most likley go to court.

when i bought a kitchen table and some bedroom furniture and was told it was all wood, i got it pretty cheap but was lead to believe the whole time it was all wood, 8 months later a piece of the table falls off and its veneer covered particle board. I tried to get a refund and was told i was lied too, but the manager said that there was nothing they would do and i get what i paid for. is this something i can take to small claims?
i dont have it in writing. I told the sales person i didnt want particle board when i was buying and was told this stuff wasnt.
