We have a small budget for our wedding. If I can’t find a place in or around Orlando Fl that will rent out their room (including chairs & tables) that will d it for a few hundred dollars I won’t be able to have a reception. It will need to fit 40 people & allow me to bring my own cake & cheese/veggie trays. And room for dancing. Nothing fancy & it doesn’t need to include linens or a bar. Thank you!!

We just bought a house with a small concrete slab out the backdoor(big enough for maybe a table and grill) the yard is much larger and can probably fit a nice patio, chairs, hot tub and bar area! The problem is, it’s uneven ground and slopes up the further you get towards the fence (yes the backyard is completely fenced in.) What can we do with this land without wrecking our budget too much? My mother in law is offering to plant flowers all around the fence but I want something different. Any ideas?

So my ex and decided to divorce about a year ago. During the marriage i made sure to save money for "our" future and stick to a budget, i mean i could have been one of those wifes that didnt care and just spent every single penny and even put us in debt, but im not that type of person. So before we divorced we paid off my car, only about 00 left on it, then put 00 down on a new car for him so it was even. then we pretty much split the rest of the money in the savings evenly.
in a few short months after we divorced he had already spent all of the money he got (around 00) and now has debt. It bothers me that i spent all those years saving and he just goes out and spends it all on nights out partying and drinking and new clothes and tattoos and a new speaker system for his car. i now feel like i should have been a bit*h and tried to take it all especially since now he probably makes more than twice what i do.
should this bother me??? would it bother you???
also, when i moved out he found out he was getting stationed in Italy, so he rented the house out to someone he worked with. Since we knew the person who would be living in the house we agreed to leave the large furniture in the house for him to use temporarily since the ex could not take it to italy and it would not fit in my new much smaller apartment, and that i would get the furniture from the house when i decided to move back to Texas.
a month or so later the ex called and said they guy living in the house would like to buy the furniture from us rather than trying to find new, i decided that would be ok. well it has now been MONTHS and have not heard anything else, like did the guy living there give my ex money??? or did he change his mind and dosnt want to buy it??? and now i am wondering and a bit pissy because of some pictures i saw on facebook.
Apparently the guy that lives in the house had a party at the house. outside. and he took the nice dining room table, chairs and nice leather bar stools OUTSIDE! the table was being used as a beer pong table! these things were not cheap and now im pissed because if he has not paid for them he needs to be more respectful of other peoples things…. and if he has paid for them my ex has not given me money for them….
how would you feel about this?? what would you say to the ex???
ok.. i know his finances are not my problem.. i know i cant change most of it, that was not my question really.
i was MAINLY asking if these things would bother you, even in the slightest??? knowing that you worked and saved for years and then he just blows it all, i guess it dosnt matter married still or divorced, would that bother you??

my parents are renovating the house, the first thing they did was renovate their bedroom (paint and all) and add an ensuite to their bedroom. next was the kitchen, then they added an extension to the family room. all the while little ol me is downstairs in a excrement hole. i have ripped and torn carpet from the 70′s. filthy 20yo curtains, my room was made smaller for them to change the staircase (doesnt worry me) so i have exposed drywall, hasnt even been patched and sanded. my other walls are just filthy blonde bricks. ANYWAY ive had enough, its like theve forgotten me, tomorrow ill be moving all my furniture outside and doing the prep work so they have 2 reno my room next. i need design tips, im thinking of going with white walls, black bedspread with black accessories and stainless steel lamps/ accessories as well but it seems a little bland. how can i spice it up a bit? id like to keep it within budget (id be payin for all accessories) but i am able 2 splurge on a few things

My brother an alcoholic & drug user recently dropped off his children who have since been here for over 2 months. The boys are ages 13 & 14. Their mother lives in Texas and is a bar owner, her assests are hidden and my brother doesn’t work whatsoever, he lives off our mother. I go for a child support hearing tomorrow but feel nothing will come of it. I am working class and so is my husband, we married December 2006. I have no children, he has 2 that we pay child support for. We truly cannot afford to care for my nephews until they are grown. It makes life quite hectic and squeezes the budget very tightly. We are already in debt over typical things….furniture, car, and the like. I have been REALLY struggling with whether or not we should keep them. Their mom doesn’t want them and their dad can’t care for them (he even moved out of state without so much as a goodbye and has NEVER called to check on the children) I have tried state assistantance and we make too much money.
I love them truly I do. My stomach knots up when I think of all the care they will need over the next several years and the money. The 13 year old is only in 7th grade so he will be 19 when he graduates….Then there is the whole being a newlywed things and this is my husbands home that I came into with no children. Their mom refuses to take my phone calls and offered to send 1,000 dollars towards their care for 2 months, she sent only 200.00….I am at my wits end I REALLY BIGTIME NEED ADVICE…………PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

My fiance and I are going to be buying a house in two years, and we are starting to save. I’m in charge of the furniture part, and was wondering how much I should save. Right now we’ve budgeted about ,000 for furniture, including: Sofa, Coffee table, washer/dryer, refridgerator, assorted kitchen items(dishes, cooking utensils), and maybe a bed, but we’re not sure yet (because we both have beds right now that could be used if need be).
Is there any other pieces of furniture I’m missing? What should our budget be? Also, any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The place is in need of so much work.
Such as;
New doors. Tile for the kitchen and bathroom. Granite counter tops. Stainless Steel appliances. Finished wood flooring and I also want to turn my over-sized bedroom into a living room, and my tiny living room into a bedroom. Not to mention the fact that I have no furniture. Can an interior designer come in and take care of all of those things for me on a limited budget of under ,000?

I am literally living in one of the poorest neighborhoods. I have no kitchen cabinets b/c I couldn’t afford a more expensve apartment. I am living on a very limited budget and cannot afford to buy cabinets. Freecycle Poster had metal cabinets to offer but refused to let me p/u because I wanted to use them in my kitchen, said they belong in basement or garage because she felt they weren’t asthetically pleasing enough. She simply refused to let me make my own mind up. This is on freecycle where we’re supposed to be keeping things out of the landfill. I have had to live with aesthetically unpleasant furniture, cabinets, etc. before. I knew what I was getting yet she insisting on making the decision on whether or not it was worth it to me – someone several levels beneath her tax bracket – to pick up these cabinets.

Hi all. My husband and I live in an 1100 sq/ft house with two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 hallway, a laundry room, small kitchen and big living room. We want to have the whole house tiled with carpet in the two bedrooms. When our puppies were growing up they discovered the worn holes in the old carpet and decided to make them bigger, tearing into them like an Easter Ham. (The house is about 26 yrs old and the carpet is at least 10 yrs old)
We are on a budget and are looking for options to save money on installation and materials. We are looking at tile and carpet that costs about per sq/ft and would like to get it installed by someone.
1) Would we really save money doing prep work ourselves? How much would this entail?: Im imagining pulling up the old carpet, pulling out the wood bits and nails, clearing out all the furniture, sweeping… cant think of what else. Is it worth the savings?
2) How much would it be to get it installed? We live in Bakersfield, CA.
BTW thats tile throughout the house and carpet in the two bedrooms (not carpet tiles)
We have thought about doing it ourselves. Maybe we need to revisit that. We have both laid tile before but not carpet. Id rather leave that to professionals cos I dont know it. The main reason why we wanted to get it installed is because it is the whole house not just one room and 5 professionals can come in and do it a lot faster and easier than my husband and I ever could. It would take us weeks and weeks. But maybe we can get relatives to help.

The apartment is 2 bed, 2 bath carpeted apartment. Stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher are already there. I already have a bed, mattress, drawers, night stand, sheets, towels and some other things. (not really concerned with my roommate’s furniture situation) Basically what we need are furnishings for living room, dining area, and kitchen. We don’t have any TV’s or major furniture. So what would be the best way to go about furnishing and what should our budget look like?

Hi.
Here is the situation. Every room in this house is carpeted. When we pulled up the one in the kitchen we found two more layers of carpet and an uneven cement slab. The cement has been leveled, sealed and painted. Now we want to have floors put in. Our options are tile, hard wood and linoleum (sp). All are within our budget, but we cannot figure out what is better and less breakable. I have cast iron kitchen furniture, heavy wood bookcases, steamer trunks, two kids who forget to remove thier shoes while inside, and two large dogs.
Any ideas which type will last longer?
Thank you.
