I am currently renting and recently asked to be moved into a larger apartment in my building. The apartment is beautiful except for the kitchen. The kitchen looks out of the 70′s. It has a harvest gold stove and refrigerator. Along with dark brown cabinets. How do i decorate my kitchen to make it look decent with these horrible colors?

Hip ideas for cheap kitchen decor?

We just moved into a rental home and I’m in need of a new kitchen theme. The walls are beige and the cabinets are oak. Everything that I have found (roosters, apples, flowers, etc) remind me of old ladies.

I have decided to paint my kitchen walls a steely gray color and I also plan on sanding down and refinishing the cabinets. I was going to refinish them in a dark cherry but I am not sure if they would compliment the steely gray?? What color would you suggest?
Floor and countertops are still undecided. We are completely regutting our kitchen

I am painting my kitchen and using old country/farm vintage kitchen ideas-the walls are avocado green and the cabinets are barn red-and with a little distress in the wood. I need something to make all of this stand out and come together-I have bar stools at the bar and a small 4 chair table in there also. Thought of maybe doing something with the bar stools-(thought of painting them beige with brownish cow spots-or painting the table with a personalized theme-maybe our name painted in the center-but I really liked the bar stool thing-my kids said it would look cheesy

need new kitchen decor theme?

i really want to update our kitchen but am totally lost. it is small, and it opens into the living room. my husband really wants to do lobsters and nautical type stuff, but i just dont think that would look good with the rest of our house. our apliances are brand new. they are white (thats supposed to make the kitchen look larger) and our cabinets are oak. counter tops and floor light beige. i was leaning towards a coffee theme, but we dont evem drink coffee. please help with ideas. not into fruits or farm animals thanks.

my mother has always said (and my dad doesnt argue) that she has "something" that is watching over her, and has given it a name, brittany. everytime my mom gets mad, or upset or insanely irritated, things tend to move, thrown across the room, thrown at people, dishes that were in the cabinets get slammed violently to the floor in the MIDDLE of the room, things of that nature. well, last night my boyfriend and i got into an arguement, as we often do, and it spilled over into today and tonight. so i got irritated from getting the cold shoulder from him all day, and got up saying it was too cold in the living room and i wasnt talking about the temperature, and i stormed into the bedroom. he came in shortly and got his pillow and a blanket to stay on the couch, so i went back into the livingroom to get my laptop and saw the cups cabinet door was open, which is a pet peeve of mine, so when i came back through the kitchen and saw EVERY SINGLE cabinet door open, including the ones too high for him to reach without a stool and the ones that even i cant touch with a stool (im taller) i didnt think about it and commenced to slam them all shut and then said to him that was real adult, and he griped back and i came into the bedroom. he cant reach those. after that a few minutes later one was open again but im pretty sure he was just being stupid that time, but i called my dad and he told me that those things that happened around my mom didnt happen until she was 21, they got married when she was 18. im 21. so hes all into it now and my problem is this kind of stuff freaks me out. i need to be able to look for information on this stuff and idk what im looking for, someone please tell me what i can google to at least get some scientific footing for this, i hate things i cant explain. i need to be able to have something to explain this.

Help with kitchen decor?

I am going to be re-decorating my kitchen, but not sure what I want to do. I thought about doing a shabby chic look, but I have ran into a problem. My floors are sort of tuscany-ish looking. I live in an apartment, so I can’t really re-do the floors, not that I would want to spend the money on them anyway. My counters/cabinets and appliances are white. Any suggestions?

Any kitchen countertop ideas for small kitchens?

I want to get new countertops and maybe cabinets but all of the books i’m find at the store are for these HUGE kitchens, i have a regular triangle workstation kitchen, are books like these out their?

When you walk into my kitchen you are in the eating area that has a bay window and a big table. This is on the left half of the kitchen. On the right half is the appliances, sink, and cabinets. I want to use a combination of both a terra cotta color as well as a light milk chocolate brown. Where should I paint each of these colors? Should I paint the eating area in one color and the other area in the other color? Any advice would be appreciated!

The main colors in my adjoining breakfast room and living/dining room are teal, cranberry, pink and black. I don’t know what color to paint my kitchen?
I failed to mention that I painted the cabinets white. Also, the breakfast room is teal and the livingroom is taupe.

I nelp with my kitchen decor!?

Right now my walls are a deep red (grenadine). I have white cabinets with that red as accents in the grooves, black and white check linoleum floors(i plan to change them in the future because they are a pain in the neck),black and stainless appliances, black table and chairs, and black countertops. We are planning on getting new countertops and painting the walls and cabinets to probably just plain white. Any ideas for the wall color and type of counter tops??

kitchen decor and color ideas

I have an old kitchen from the 1920′s/1930′s that I want to redo. I don’t have the money to get really modern cabinets/counters and all that. I am simply having a new wood look floor installed. The only cabinets are a small section of painted old style, from floor to ceiling, cabinets with glass doors on the top part, which I love. The room size is 13′ x 14′ with 9′ ceilings. I have a lot of woodwork because there are two windows and four doorways and the cabinets in the room. So far I have primed everything and my dilemma now is a color scheme. At first I was thinking all white walls and woodwork for a bright and fresh look and add color with new curtains and decorations, etc.. But now I need ideas, because I just can’t decide. I tend to like an old fashioned or country look. I dont want to stain, I want to used only paint. Anyone have any ideas? My light in the kitchen is punched tin and my kitchen set is the farm table style. My floor will be an oak color (fake wood) laminent. Also, if anyone knows of any websites that can give me ideas, that would be great too. I get country home magazine but it hasn’t been too helpful. My livingroom that leads into my kitchen has a country decor with tans, burgundy and black. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just bought a house and the kitchen has a faux brick backsplash. The bricks are a brick red color and the mortar is a light gray. The cabinets are white and the countertop is gray. The floor is wood laminate. In a couple years my husband and I will redo the kitchen and remove the faux brick but for now it stays. The thing is, Id really like to paint the kitchen green but I dont want the color to clash with the red bricks. Any ideas on what shade of green would look good?
