The only furniture I have is a full mattress and a stool for the breakfast bar. I’m starting with the bedroom and then I’ll move onto the living room and dining area.
My mom bought me this when we were shopping and I said it was cute http://walmart.com/catalog/product_id=13269233
So I would like it to match this.
I can paint but I can’t change the white carpet.
What window treatment would be good for the sliding glass door? I don’t like the vertical blinds that are on it now.
What kind of bed should I get and will black furniture work? I heard that platform beds are good for an Asian theme. Is that true?
For the most part I want the Asian part to come from accents like a sword that I have and a tea set. I’ll add more things as I find them.

We recently moved to a new state about 2 weeks ago. Earlier in the week on 2 different mornings I found that my cat had pooped on the floor. (since we moved here the cat has been rolling around in those spots if I’m in the room and he’s in there with me) the stool was very dark, almost black in color and wasn’t in the ‘shape’ of normal stool. Since we moved my cat has been very weird about his water. I will have 3 different bowls full of water in the kitchen but he barely drinks out of them (he wants to watch me get a new bowl of water and put the others in the sink). Then tonight right in front of me he was digging in the carpet and then squat so I picked him up and put him in the litter box. I shut the door and when I checked on him about 10 min later there was poop on the tile floor &in 3 spots where he was sitting there were dime or penny size puddles of watery brownish-greenish colored water. I checked his ‘area’ and there was the same stuff on/in him.
Is there something wrong??

I know my question probably made me sound snobby and ignorant, but if you’re still interested keep reading: This is one of my VERY best friends, and I want to feel comfortable when I go over to her house. It’s just so unsanitary and an eyesore. Her dog (a westie) isn’t housebroken. And even though my friend and her family have absorbent sheets for the dog to use, Roxie (dog’s name) goes wherever she pleases. And the things is, my friend’s family sometimes don’t clean up after her. Which definitely makes a difference over time. I’m super sorry if this sounds gross, but tend to be little pieces of stool on the floors. Then there’s the vomit stains (from the dog) on the carpet, and odor near the garage and kitchen. The kitchen floor looks like it hasn’t seen a mop in years. Plus, the house has dead bugs lying around. Now I know that I can’t expect everyone’s house to be sparkling – mine isn’t either. But I just want to enjoy spending the night at my friend’s house instead of feeling disgusted. When I take a step in to the home, I would like to take a step back out. I really do not want to hurt my friend’s feeling by saying anything…I’m not sure what to do.
Any advice? Has anyone been in this kind of situation before?

I’ve been trying to get my living room set up the way I like it and I accomplished that, but I noticed there isn’t much color at all. The walls are a tan color, the carpet is brown. All the furniture is creme/brown wood colored. My loveseat has both blue and a pale red in it as well as the tan. Also in the living room are a glider/rocker which is primarily blue (with wood) and that’s about it for color. I also have a papasan chair and two barstools which sit at the bar between the living room and the kitchen. Right off the living room is the kitchen (it’s a mobile home) which has a deep red color around the countertops and pale blue curtains (it’s actually the same blue as in the glider rocker and in the loveseat.
Basically I want to liven it up a bit mostly in the living room, but perhaps a little in the kitchen as well. I plan on getting rid of my old curtains which are basically white bath towels with a maroon valance. I want to put up deep red curtains to match the trim on the bar adjacent in the kitchen. Here are some pictures to show how it looks now. It’s usually not this messy though!
Any suggestions for adding a splash of color? I like the texture pattern on the walls so I don’t plan on painting them, I also just put this carpet down so I can’t really go back on that eaither. So the colors I’m working with are a deep red/maroon and a pale blue along with all the browns/tans from the carpet and furniture. Any suggestions? Perhaps fake plants or some pillows? I also have access to lots of carpet, so perhaps I could make/or purchase a nice big rug to pull it all together. I am willing to move my furniture around if anyone feels it would better suit the room. Also willing to take criticism about furniture, and to eliminate pieces all together as you see fit. here is a link to my photobucket images of the rooms and of the loveseat

Okay, im at a major crossroad in my existance. This answer could prove futile to the realm in which i currently reside.
I watch tv, so I know how banana peels are supposed to work.
Ive put peels on the roads, no cars ever slip, they just crush my peels.
Ive put peels on the carpet, no avail,(Mom was super pissed)
ive put peels in the shower.
Ive put peels on the kitchen bar stools
ive put peels on the toilet
I seem to just keep getting in trouble and im grounded now, so I have time to think this one thorugh, but no luck.
What am i doing wrong, I get yelled at but no one slips, ever. Is this banana peel thing real? If so what am i doing wrong.
Please help:(

Got a quote to install Shaw Natural Values laminate throughout my entire first floor. They will remove all existing carpet in the living and dining rooms, vinyl in the kitchen, and hardwood in the foyer. They will also handle moving all furniture and appliances and price includes underlayment and transitions. Basically, it comes out to a little over /sq ft for the installation.

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Ok, I have been living on aparments since long time ago, most of them are all carpet (no choice), so now I’m moving to a beautiful townhome with 2 levels, first level where the living/dinning/kitchen are is all hardwood floors, I was just looking for slidders or socks for the furniture so they don’t scratch the wood, my fiance said that the dinning room and the couches will look funny without a big area rug underneath. Do you think that Area rugs are mandatory on hardwood floors? Please share your opinions. Thanks again.

i moved in with my dad when my mom passed. last thursday a pipe burst in the attic. my dad was in the hospital and the farmers insurance put my family in a hotel for the first night because we had no water and the house was ‘uninhabitable’. we checked in at 11:30 pm and checked out in the morning. i had to be home to greet the insurance adjuster, plumbers, service master (fan guys) and carpet measurer.
giant fans were set up top dry out the wall. the fans kicked up so much dust, my boy and i can’t stop coughing. my dad died that saturday. instead of being with my huge family (at my sister’s home) i had to take care of this business. folks stopping over had no place to sit because my furniture is in the kitchen. today is friday and the fans are still going. people are coming today to demolish the affected wall and ceiling. we have asbestos. i’m told it’s of no danger to myself or my family. still, i insist on leaving for the day. i cannot use my kitchen since it is packed. i have my fridge, but cannot use the stove, microwave or toaster oven. toilets are fine.
why wouldn’t farmers deem this situation uninhabitable? my four year old is tripping over huge fans and cords, he’s eating on the livingroom floor. i’ve gone to a few restaurants, but i need money for a funeral reception. yes, i can stay at my sister’s house, but farmers usually provides for it’s customers. my dad used them for 49 years and has a 0.00 deductible. i would think that since he’s paid in so long, we would have provisions.
the first night we were in a hotel, it wasn’t even necessary except for toilets in the morning. we’d already showered and had gone to bed. really, i could’ve used the neighbors toilet in the morning. now is the time we need to be taken care of. farmers doesn’t think it’s necessary.

Hi. I live in an apartment. On thursday they found that my neighbor that lived opposite of me died. We had beenn smelling wierd smell four days before they found him. As the days passed the smell got worse. we couldnt figure it out. to me smelled like toilets or something. Well it turns out he died in sleep and was there for about a week before people found him. CSI came and cleaned up. burned his bed and carpet with chemcals. and left his window open to air out. His stuff is still in there. WEll i picked up and left with my kids and husband because we got creeped out an the smell got so much worse. I am now leaving that apartment. I cannot lie there any more. i cant be there knowing that smell came here.
my question is when the body is decaying and the smell came in our apartment could there be airborne diseases that i should be concerend about and if they are on all my stuff. second I am throwing away everything. all our clothes our furniture our entire kitchen stuff. Just keeping pictures, home videos and things that were same in closed boxes. Am i overexagerating or am i right to do this. keep in mind the smell is not going away and it was horrendously tramatic. I dont think smell will go away from anything fabric.
Are there any CSI or coroners that can answer this.
thanks

Malamutes are known chewers and therefore when you go out they have to be kenneled. I am a Stay at home mom so I am home all the time unless I have like a dr’s appt or have to run to the store.
I have a 9 year old malamute that lately, has been escaping her kennel while we are gone. Never before has she done this. She chews the kennel bars until she opens it. Well we put a lock on it so today we ran to the store and a few other places we were gone for 2 hours and she distroyd the tray on the bottom of her kennel, so now its not useable.
I have no idea what has gotten into her but we can’t leave her out because she chews the carpet or my furniture or she get into the trash. We have tried the bathroom but she ripped up the tile trying to get out.
I have no idea what has changed in the last two week, but for 9 years she was fine. Any ideas

my wife always complain. she looks for perfection all the time. she always complain about my characteristics and my ways in dealing with things. e.g before one houre i took her to her relative house and i stoped 3 meters next to the door but she complained about how far i stoped as if i wanted to give her hard time.
she focus on details while i look at things in general. if i find a carpet and find it lovely she says something like" you dont have a taste look at the colors look do not fit what happen to your brain…"
i admitt that she is good when it comes to chosing furniture and kitchen stuff.
when i try to chose anything for her like a perfume. she do not like it not because she does not love me but because she thinks that she knows better than me when it come to perfumes.
1-how can i deal with a woman who looks always for perfection in life style and people around her?
2-can this personality change through time or she will live all her live in this condition?
she was like that before marriage. if you want to ask me why i married her is because she treats me as a child.e.g she criticise my hair dress and fitness and this is enough for me to like her.
i love her and i am patient with her, therefore i am asking to change her personality and i believe in change. sometimes i try to be like her but i fail every time
