Purchased an old home. Small kitchen which has ugly linoleum (i think thats it). Anyway i am looking for something easy to clean (have 4 cats) and not to costly. Leaning towards wood, since all floors are wood. I really like the vinyl squares..any good? I would appreciate any and all info, thanks!

Is it possible for my cats to ruin my new (from Craigslist, therefore new to ME) Aeron chair? Please do not answer if you do not own an authentic Herman Miller Aeron Chair.
The Herman Miller (furniture company)’s Aeron chair is the top of the line office chair, more popular than any other in history. It is an award winning design and is displayed in the Museum of Modern Art’s Industrial Design department. It is the single most famous office chair in the history of the universe. Do your homework!

Both my cats know they are not allowed on the kitchen counter. Everytime I see them up there, I knock them off. They go behind my back. One gets food from wherever they can find it, and the other one acts as a lookout. I was thinking about getting a spray boundry thing, but its toxic to anaimals. Whats up with that? Can anyone help?

Cats in the area have chosen my yard as their sanctuary and I do not want them here. They sleep on my deck furniture, porches and stairs. The males spray on stuff and it really stinks. The mating calls and fighting are driving me crazy. I am unable to put up a fence, which would only stop the old and fat ones anyway. I live on a small (40′x100′) lot in town, but there are 10 or more cats that think this is their home away from home. I don’t keep food waste outside. I have done nothing to attract them. I want them to go away and stay away. I am so frustrated, I want to just start shooting them, but this would make me the bad person. Animal Control will not do anything about it. They will only deal with dog issues. Is there something inexpensive I can place in my grass, on my steps, furniture, on and under my porches to keep them away that will not attract bugs, stain my furniture and porches or create zoning code issues? I am at wits end. Can anyone offer a solution that doesn’t involve my air rifle and disposing of feline carcasses in the night? This is a now problem. I need answers. Ten points to an easy, discrete and effective solution.
The cats do not like my presence. They run away when they see me. I live in town if you had read the whole question. I am not home enough to chase them with water guns. I cannot leave wet things on my furniture and porches. I cannot use fuel odors or I will have the zoning and fire ppeople on me like white on rice.

Again- Water and fuel are not viable solutions. I am not home enough or have the time to chase them with water guns. I need some repellent that can be put out that will not harm furniture, wood, or cause problems with neighbors. I live in a town, with near proximity neighbors and zoning regulations.

Found a dead rat and about 5 nickel sized blood spots on my back patio. I’m assumed he hemorrhaged from rat poisoning that a neighbor put out. Had hubby get rid of the rat but I’m concerned about thoroughly disinfecting the area, mostly because I have cats that I take on my patio (supervised, but still…) daily. I don’t want them to pick up any diseases or germs if they walk on those tiles. Any advice?

My two kittens are both having diarrhea so I took them to the vet. She tested them both for worms and said that they were both worm free. I took them home and have been checking their stool and i have found roundworms in both cats stool. I got an over the counter med from wal mart and am trying that. After spending 7 at the vet I am reluctant to go back.
My question is should I find a new vet or is it common for tests for worms to come back with a false negative?

Last night i saw one of my cats with a long skinny off white worm trying to wiggle out of her rear. The tip sort of came to a point… i was so traumatized she ran off before i could even think to try to take it to see what sort of worm it was. any ideas???? ive been told it could be round worm or tape worm.
Anyways….i called around and i really cant afford to go to the vet because i would need initial exam for both cats and stool samples plus whatever else they decide to prescribe.
I wanted to know if the medications from the petstore would be a worthy alternative…. i’ve heard that the medications dont work or are counterfeit but i really want to help my cat immediately!!!!
i need some clarification please!!

I have a deck made of old, old wood that is withered and grey. I am unsure if it has been treated with arsenic or not. My cats stay out on the deck for most of the day. When they come inside, is it possible that they might track the arsenic indoors, wherein they then further distribute it onto the furniture and beds?

We have a small patio on the back of our townhome with a small grassy flower bed. The neighbor’s cats are constantly jumping over the fence to our patio and using our patio furniture to sharpen their claws as well as our small flower bed as a litter box. I don’t want to kill them or anything but I want them away from my property! Please help!

I’ve lived in a house for the past 12 months with 6-7 cats. For about this time also, I’ve experienced period stomach pains, fluctuations between diarrhea and constipation and generally feeling unwell. Although in the past I have experienced the stool fluctuations (which were somewhat treated with a healthy diet and exercise, though I always experience these symptoms before menstruation) they seem to have all appeared and gotten worse together.
I have always lived with cats, I own one myself. But here, the litter is not cleaned often enough for 7 cats nor is there enough for all of them (one normal sized litter tray for my cat and one jumbo tub which is approximately 1mx30cmx20cm) and the cats are allowed on the kitchen benches where food is prepared and on all of the tables where we eat. I take my cat to the litter tray at night (she sleeps in my room on her bed) and clean her paws before she comes in my room, I don’t want litter in there. They also walk around where dishes are drying/draining. They basically have full roam of the house, apart from mine and my friend’s bedrooms. Even though we always wipe the surfaces before we makes anything, there could still be harmful bacteria on the surfaces. We also had a huge problem a few months ago with the cats spraying around the kitchen, on my laptop, in the toilet & bathroom and around the house in general.
Apart from my cat, none of these cats are vaccinated, flea treated, wormed … not even groomed. And they are all outside cats.
Apart from the owner being a really irresponsible one, do you think that this has directly affected my health?
I am moving out shortly, for other reasons, but I just wanted to ask the question.
Thanks ^w^

I went to visit his house, sat and petted so many Cats.
Hot that day in my floppy hat, Summer on the way.
That was just the way of that, a seasonal display.
Walked the still quiet streets, found a tavern off the beat
sat to cool under old ceiling fans
wringing my hands, "why am I here?"
"Hello my dear,
may I buy you a drink?", I heard, I think
"Name’s Earnest, can I call ya ‘Truly’?
I turned to look, saw no one there, but the chair
swung back toward me.
Two glasses sat on the bar, suddenly I felt far
from home and familiarity
yet closer to a destined reality.
"Careful young sprite, the whiskey will bite,
come visit again if you’re in this place.
stay awhile, even long,
at my home you can sing your own song."
HMMMM. I thought it quite clear?
Hemingway, Key West, FL? sorry.
sigh. No TD’s from me folks.
