So, I’m moving out of my dorm soon and into a house. It is a small two bedroom (plus den) house on the lake right in the middle of a city. It’s a very nice place. I’ll be sharing it with my two best friends. We are all 22 years old. Two of us are young professionals and the other is a professional hockey player, so we aren’t billionaires or anything, but we have enough money to live well.

What are some cool things to have in our place? We will probably be there for 3-5 years. Obviously a sweet tv and home theatre system, we have a football table, air hockey, nice furniture, coffee table, etc. I am thinking about putting up some cool artwork, like vintage framed advertisements. Also, a portable well-stocked bar on wheels could be sweet.

In the backyard, we are putting a golf green that you can chip onto and putt with. There is already a hot tub there. We won’t be taking possession for another 5 months so there is plenty of time but I’m so damn excited. Let’s hear some ideas. I want it to be like a very upscale, sophisticated dorm. We like to party but college is over, so we’re stepping up. Thanks!
Umm, no bong. I think that goes against what I described. A pool table would be ok but too expensive, too difficult to move, and takes up too much space.

How should i do my room?

My room is a rectangle shape. So what i want is deep blue walls, a black sectional (i dont want a bed so i guess i could either get a couch with a pull out bed or just sleep on the couch) I want some sort of carpet (i have no idea what color or design) i want a big black shelf, i want a black bench and stools, i want a small black side table, a chest and a very big painting on the wall.

The couch will be covered in colorful pillows (as i have started to collect unique pillows)

and the painting will be psychedelic and very colorful.

Just to add the splash of color :)

What color livingroom furniture should i buy?

So we have an open downstairs where all the rooms basically connect and are open. The dining room as all black furniture (diningroom table, chairs, and hutch) and the kitchen cabinets are an medium oak color that came with the house. Theres a little kitchen nook where we have 2 black metal stools on the kitchen island and a small round glass table with black metal for the chairs and table itself. The living room we are getting new furniture a lighter tan color couch and we want a new entertainment center and end tables and coffee table but I dont know what color wood. I dont want the same color as the kitchen cabinets.. and im not sure if I should stick to black even tho that would be the best matching option. I just feel like it would all be too much black. Please let me know your opinion

what kind of furniture is in your living room?

i have a tv, Dvd player, 2 cat trees, Coffee table & Two Flower Lamps, pictures on walls, A Small bar table & two chairs. & a Couch & a Rocking chair…

Black and Brown furniture?

My apt is open concept. The living room is basically the same space as the dining. I will have an espresso brown coffee table/end tables and an espresso tv stand… but I really love these bar stools that are black. They would be pretty much in the same space at the counter top in the kitchen. Would this look bad since the living room stuff is brown?

Today is the day. I knew it from the moment I bolted upright to the acerbic Chris Moyles sardonically alerting me to the fact that it is seven fifty-five am and time to go to Dom for the News. I knew it when I threw back the quilt, leapt out of bed and made the one meter dash from my solace to the shower and stubbed my little toe on the negligently discarded dressing table stool. And I knew it when hopping about under its immature icicles, gasping for compassion, blindly fumbling around for redemption, I realised my shampoo was still in its Tesco carrier bag on the kitchen counter downstairs. I knew it would happen on a day when I had bad hair.
I ventured downstairs to a furore of duelling as Pasht and her prey faced each other off over the coffee table. Her victim took advantage of the split second reprieve as Pasht shot me a look of treacherous indignation before pouncing; her mark found a sanctuary in the shape of Peleus wrestling with his future bride, the sea-nymph Thetis, and cowered behind their crusade. After pawing at the heavy ceramic vase for five minutes Pasht relinquished her battle to follow the usual whiff of first morning coffee coming through from the clunking kitchen, denoting breakfast was being served. The hapless victim refused to give up its fight and had me chasing after it for the next twenty minutes whilst Pasht apathetically cleaned her mouse-tainted paws; cementing my lateness. They say bad things occur in three’s.
I abandoned the disarray that consisted of strewn wet towels and half-drunk coffee and slammed the blue panelled door behind me, the brass number seventeen sloping off even more to the left and following me with a knowing, mocking smirk. Oblivious to the unusually blue January sky above me I trudged the eighteen minute walk past wheezing joggers, covertly smoking teenagers and urgent bumper to bumper cars trying to eat each other up. If I had known today was the day I would have drank in its crispness, greedily gulped the discarded nicotine and saluted the intent drivers. They say hindsight is a wonderful thing.

More Criticism Wanted!!!!!?

Now, in my opinion, I think this is horrible. I’m looking for ways to make it better. Don’t just tell me what’s wrong with it, but what I can do to improve it. That’s what I’m looking for. Thank You.

After using the stairs of a long, five-floor walk-up apartment, we finally arrived at door 513. My mother and I both dropped the bags at the door as she searched her pockets frantically for her keys. She was always the one to misplace things, especially important things. Thankfully, today was not one of those days, and she found them after about two minutes of looking.
Inside the apartment, it was not what I had been expecting in the least. “Wow,” crept out from my lips while I searched the high-arched ceilings, draped down from them hung white cloth and from the large window at the end of the room were flowers hanging from poles upholstered above them. It was early, and the sunlight reflected off the whole room, illuminating it. When I first stepped in, I was in the kitchen, but the whole apartment was an open space, except for two hallways, one on either side of the space. The kitchen was long and white tiles ran across the floor beneath my feet, on the left hand side were the refridgerater and other kitchen utilities, on the right was a nice set up table with four wooden chairs surrounding it, with a vase in the middle. No flowers were inside the long, violet colored vase. Past the kitchen was a wooden floored room, bright from the day, the sun reflected off the two long stretched couches on either side of the room surrounding a large television, a coffee table right in the middle. It was original, but it was homey. I felt comfortable here already. I took off my shoes and started down one of the hallways, the right.
“You’ve got a good sense of direction,” My mother snickered, I guessed I was headed the right way to my new room. I smiled at her, and turned, continuing my journey.
The room reeked of fresh paint. The walls were creamy with blue ribbons dancing through the middle. I inhaled the scent of rejuvenation, a sense of a new beginning. I finally had a chance to start over. I set down my bags that I had carried in from the front room by the queen-sized bed in the left corner of the room. Of course my mother had chosen this room for me, she knew me all too well. I opened the sliding glass door, it stuck and I had to budge it open. I told myself to set a reminder to oil it later tonight. The balcony was not large, but not miniature, it was exactly right. I lifted my hand to feel the wind graze it. There was nothing on the balcony except for a small, black stool to sit on, to smoke. I looked down at the trees coming halfway up the building, the busy streets crowded with cars and people walking on the sidewalks. I felt exhilarating as I imagined letting my hair down so Jesse could climb up and save me.
Ugh, sidetracked again. Jesse would not be the one to do that. Not then, not now, not ever. I sat on the stool and hung my head towards the ground. I shouldn’t delude myself, I thought. Steadily, I sat back up, determined to begin that new life, and walked back into the house. I examined my room more thoroughly. A mohogany dresser was positioned across from the large bed, and a nightstand right next to the bed. I spotted a walk-in closet on the side of the room that I had came in through, I peeked in. There were a few new pairs of blue jeans that Pam must have picked out for me, a welcome home present. I blushed at the gesture, then composed myself.
“Mom!” I yelled so she could hear me from the other room, “You really didn’t need to buy me anything. It’s enough letting me stay with you.”
She came into the room then, knowing that I had settled, “I wanted to, now don’t give me any grief for it.” She said while she put her hands around my waist. I hugged her, and tried to hide my tears by pressing my face into her shoulder.
