First off I will list everything I want shipped:
Large computer desk
Full size canopy bed
Floor lamp
Small dresser
3 seater couch
1 seater matching chair
26" LCD television
Small TV stand
Coffee table
Side table
2 small lamps
Kitchen table with 2 chairs
The rest will be about 6 or 7 boxes of ‘stuff’ (plates, glasses, silverware, clothes, shoes, neccessities)
Can someone tell me how much I can plan on expecting to spend having this moved from NC to PR? Also, I know you have to pay a tax on the items when they arrive in PR, can someone also try to include that on what they think I will end up spending? I am curious as to if this will be a better deal than selling the stuff here and buying new stuff when I get there. ALSO, I thought about getting a washer and dryer off Craigslist and having that included in the shipping since I know they’ll be even more expensive in PR.
I called the Rosa whatever moving company they can’t give me an estimate until Monday, so anyone who has been here done this please give me helpful advice!

My boyfriend who I recently moved in with has two big dogs and before I moved in it was pretty much a bachelor pad. He slept with them in bed, doesn’t bathe them regularly, lets them get on furniture and have no off limit areas. The dogs have not been allowed in the bedroom for a few years now (they are so hairy, its gross) but I’m sick of the hair everywhere. I brush them 2x daily, tried changing their diet, and more baths. Nothing works!
Sorry this is long, I need to vent. My bf very rarely will clean up after them, and I do it all the time. I realize that I love him and his dogs are part of him so I have to accept that and love them too.
Now- our house is really small, probably the size of an apt. Only one main living area/kitchen with one couch. So the couch is the only place for me and other people to sit, I don’t think the dogs should get to ruin that too! It always has hair and their nails scratch the leather all up. Plus we don’t have a table so we eat on the couch.
Finally the bf agreed they should not be allowed on furniture, but how do I keep them off other than saying "no" when they try to get up there? They’ve been doing it for years, it will be hard to break. When I go to bed every night or leave the room for a min I have to flip all the cushions upside down and move the coffee table so they can’t get on the couch. Any help? We bought a tempurpedic bed for them to lay on instead, but I want them to learn no couch! Also I don’t want to have to keep picking up the cushions when I leave, I want to trust them.
my bf would never go for them being in crates, and our house is way too small for them. The dog bed takes up enough room as it is.
Mousetraps?! Cool idea, have you tried that?

I am about to rent out my apartment in central London and although my wife and I are taking the furniture we have, we want to refurnish it for the prospective tenant. We’re going to leave a bed, bedside tables, double wardrobe and a chest of drawers in the bedroom. In the living/dining room, we’re leaving a table with 6 chairs, sideboard, coffee table, sofa, armchair and a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge and a washing machine.
Anything else you think I’ve missed??
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
As I said, the kitchen is fully fitted so there is a tall fridge-freezer, microwave, gas hob, twin ovens with grill.

I just moved into a new house and am having difficulty placing my furniture and now a christmas tree. The front door opens and you can walk in a straight line to the kitchen, on the right of you on your way to the kitchen there is the door to the bedroom and a flat wall all the way to the kitchen. on the left is where it opens out, just a square room with a large window next to the front door and another large window on the left wall. so it’s like walking into a square with half of it cut off if that makes sense? a pic would be better but i don’t have one.
i have 2 couches, a large coffee table looking thing where my tv stands, a nighttable and the christmas tree. i can’t put anything on the wall by the front door as you’d have to walk around it after coming in because of the placement of the bedroom door and the kitchen doorway. help! (if any of this made any sense or if you have any tips on placement. thanks!)

I have a pretty square room with a big picture window (front room). I have 2 couches, a bench by the front door with baskets for shoes under it, a TV mounted on one wall with a table under it, and one wall is a half wall. I’m trying to rearrange the furniture but wondering if putting it on an angle will make the room look smaller? Right now, I have the bench between the door and under the huge picture window (takes up almost the whole wall), the TV on the smallest wall (that won’t be moved since it’s mounted and the most practical place, a long couch on the longest full wall, and a loveseat on the wall with the half wall going into the kitchen. Anybody have any good ideas? I also have an end table and a coffee table but those can be placed anywhere once the furniture is moved. Thanks for any help!!!

The kitchen, informal dinning area and living room in my house are connected. The kitchen and informal dinning have light brown tiles and the living room a light beige carpet. About 6 months ago we got a oyster leather living room transitional style and a modern style coffee table, but now that we want to buy the informal dinning set we haven’t being able to find anything that will combine with the kitchen that has cherry medium color wood cabinets and a traditional feel and the modern living room furniture. By the way all the walls are white. Please help.

My fiance and I are going to be buying a house in two years, and we are starting to save. I’m in charge of the furniture part, and was wondering how much I should save. Right now we’ve budgeted about ,000 for furniture, including: Sofa, Coffee table, washer/dryer, refridgerator, assorted kitchen items(dishes, cooking utensils), and maybe a bed, but we’re not sure yet (because we both have beds right now that could be used if need be).
Is there any other pieces of furniture I’m missing? What should our budget be? Also, any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’m moving into a new condo. Long story short, it’s owned by my boyfriend’s uncle…. so he’s giving me all of the furniture that’s in there. It’s a very small one-bedroom.
I wish I had a picture, but I don’t. It’s got white walls, white carpet, white ceilings, and black furniture. Black leather sofa, black tv stand, black dining room chairs, black stools, black oriental-inspired dresser, and a black bedframe with a semi-circle headboard. The coffee table is a rectangular piece of glass over a really awesome panther-sculpture. The panther’s shoulders and hips hold up the table.
The only splash of color is the cabinets in the kitchen that have been painted a bright turquoise. The condo is much more modern than my tastes, but I’m willing to work with it. The only problem is…. I’m not completely satisfied with the way it looks just yet. I hate having so much white and black in a small space. I like the contrast, but it’s too overwhelming. Another issue is my furniture I’m bringing with me is mostly earth colors like brown and beige.
Any ideas how I could make this work? Suggestions for painting the wall another color? Or possibly the cabinets? I’m fine with turquoise but if there’s another color that works better I’m willing to give it a try.
Thanks!

I have a huge living room so space won’t be a problem. I have a bar area and I sold the bar stools. Now in that area will go a queen bed. I am doing all this as I will have a new king bed in bedroom. I want it to look neat and not terrible.
As soon as you enter the apartment(1br and living room) there’s the kitchen on the left,a passage leading to a big living room.A china cabinet against the right wall, a tv with stand next to it.
On the left will be the queen bed, then the sitting area,a beige couch,a coffee table and off white shag rug, far end is a small dining table with four chair and huge french windows.
Now the curtains are a slate grey/cream so should I get similar bedsheets for the bed? or suggest something else please.
What about red or bright colored pillows for the couch and the bed so everything matches?

My house is a raised ranch. My living rrom and dining room, hallway and entry way are all the same wall basically. I painted it a mustard yellowy golden color for walls. The ceiling is a buttery yellowish color. I have a dining room set that could adapt to the Tuscan theme. I am changing my old living room furniture. What should I buy? I want a love seat and 2 side chairs only. Coffee table and probably 1 end table. I was looking on line for pictures of Tuscan decor. I can’t find them. I’m finding pictures of places in Italy but not appropriate for my budget or taste. What colors should I buy for furniture? My kitchen is in a dark red brickcolor which goes well with the gold in the other rooms, since you see all the rooms as you come up the staris and I have red and gold accent pieces in my kitchen.
Can someone help?
it sound like it’s bright. But it really isn’t with everything put back into it. I wish I could show you guys a picture. At night, especially, the room look like they glow.

I have been using pledge on my wooden kitchen table and coffee table for about a year now and I have noticed that the wood is cloudy and dull and has absolutely lost its shine. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get the shine back or what products work better?

I have an oak kitchen table with 4 chairs, an oak hutch, oak sofa table, oak coffee table and 2 oak end tables. They are older but in amazing condition. How much should I ask to sell them as a set? Or how much would each of them go individually? Thanks for any help!

I am moving into a new apartment and need some assistance in picking colors for my living room / dining room (extension from living room that will be made into a bar) and hallway which connects to the living room.
The living room consists of mostly black furniture; black leather sofa, love seat, and chair, a black frame big screen tv, Black coffee table with silver legs, black side tables with silver legs, 2 lamps with some silver in the frame. A silver color entertainment center. The carpet color is dark beige. The extension (which I want to make into a little bar) has a oak wooden floor and I have a bar set that is black in color. The hallway also has a dark beige color carpet.
I want the living room to have a modern look. I was also thinking about making 3 walls one color, and the wall that you see when you walk into the apartment to be of a diffarant color, perhaps the same color as the hallway? I would also like to blend in the bar extension to the color of the living ro
