When you walk into my kitchen you are in the eating area that has a bay window and a big table. This is on the left half of the kitchen. On the right half is the appliances, sink, and cabinets. I want to use a combination of both a terra cotta color as well as a light milk chocolate brown. Where should I paint each of these colors? Should I paint the eating area in one color and the other area in the other color? Any advice would be appreciated!

The main colors in my adjoining breakfast room and living/dining room are teal, cranberry, pink and black. I don’t know what color to paint my kitchen?
I failed to mention that I painted the cabinets white. Also, the breakfast room is teal and the livingroom is taupe.

Hi,
We are remodeling this place we got rented. All the furniture are from previous owner, you can disregard everything. Only the walls are going to stay. Can you help me remodel? I am kind of clueless about colors, how to do the flooring, and walls. Please check out. Thanks!

Our kitchen is a bachelor kitchen that his mother picked apples as the theme like 10 years ago. There is nothing on the walls and the cabinets are old and dark. Walls are white. Need HELP please. Any ideas on colors or a theme? We are in our 30′s. We have a pretty large kitchen. What can I hang on the walls to make it look more "homey" and fun..

I want to update my kitchen. The cabinets are off white with brassy antique handles. There is beige tile and my appliances are white. I am going to put up an Earth/Clay stone black splash with a mosaic border. I am open to painting the cabinets (cant afford to replace them right now) I want to paint my kitchen a dark brown/cafe color. Any suggestions. My Living area is burnt orange and the dining room is white. I want to paint the dining room too. The dining room is situated between the kitchen and living room; so, I need the colors to flow smoothly between the three rooms. The floor in the living and dining rooms is light color wood. Help! Thx!

I have recently started reading about Feng Shui and learned that our kitchen is in the worst part of the house (Northwest) and that a kitchen should never be red (ours is cranberry red). I really don’t want to repaint our kitchen white but am open to other colors that are good Feng Shui for attracting good luck, prosperity, wealth, etc.
Any suggestions? Please list how long you have been interested in Feng Shui and why you are suggesting the color you are.
Thanks in advance!

Ok, I have a very large living room. The first side of the two part living room includes the front door and has two large windows right beside the front door. Then it is split by a hallway and the other side has sliding glass doors and a fire place about two feet from the doors and joins with the kitchen at a bar. I really can not decide how to decorate it or even where to put the furniture or the tv. I want it to look kind of full but do not want to spend a lot of money on it. It has three walls on the side with the front door but the one wall is cut in half on one side where you enter the dining room to make it two walls. On the side with the fireplace it has 3 walls, as well. One holds the fireplace, the other holds the glass doors and the other is like 5 to 6 foot wide. The entire room is undecorated and I need ideas for furniture, pictures, things to do with the walls, colors, curtains, etc. Basically I need a living room layout for this huge room because with the hallway in the middle of it; I have no idea how to set it up. All ideas are welcome, and I appreciate all the help!

My downstairs is an open concept type of floor plan, where the walls are all connected, with dark rustic real wood panels everywhere. As I begin to decorate these rooms, is there a rule of thumb as to using certain colors throughout the house? Or should one color be in all of the rooms? Or does each room stand on its own, inspite of the open concept floor plan?

It is a large mirror – very heavy with a carved wood frame. The design is not intricate or ornate, but rather, more of an ’80′s Spanish furniture motif – if you remember that look. Kind of rustic and knobby. I’m sure it was originally a dark wood, but someone painted it white.
My daughter worked on it, but I am not pleased with the result. I wanted a dark, antiqued gold or a burnished gold with some subtle darker shadings to highlight the knobby swirls and lines of the carvings. I don’t want it just a solid gold – I want it toned down. She has worked with antique gold, burnt umber, and sienna colors, but the frame is still too brassy and bright.
I don’t want to scrap it, because it is a nice, heavy piece. I couldn’t replace the quality without spending big $$$$. Help?

I’m having my wedding in May. Our colors are green, black, brown and white. It will be an elegant rustic wedding. What flowers would look good with sunflowers (and no I’m not changing the sunflowers to gerber daisies). I thought about wild flowers but I’m not sure if I want a bright bouquet.

My husband and I just bought a house and the colors of the walls are a nice light sage green. We also have dark brown furniture. I would like to liven up the color scheme a bit but without guidance I’m afraid I will make it too tacky. I was thinking of using a rustic orange and an aqua blue. Is that way off?

I’m moving into an apartment, where the kitchen is a dark green. Many of my kitchen things (mixer, stools, etc.) are a bright red. What colors could help tie them together? Thanks!

My son is only a few days away from turning 4 years old and he won’t reliably answer simple questions. He does have the ability to answer questions correctly, but only does it about half the time.
For example, today I asked him "Why did you move the step-stool into the kitchen (from the bathroom)?" and he wouldn’t answer. When he did try and answer he kept repeating the last word or two I had said, saying "the kitchen" or "step-stool".
Is this normal??? Is it just a phase? Like I said, he CAN half the time answer correctly, but his language is not that good, but not bad enough that the Dr. would refer him to a speech therapist when I mentioned it at his last appointment almost a year ago. He has a 4 year old check-up coming up in a couple weeks, but I’d like to hear from other parents before then.
For the record, he’s a very social little boy and LOVES other kids and makes eye contact, and he’s very affectionate. He knows all his letters and the letter sounds, shapes, colors, and can count to 20. It’s just worries me his language is not quite right and I don’t know if it’s a "red flag" of something else or not…
Have your kids ever done this? What is your opinion?
Thanks.

Okay, well today me and my mom decided I can move into the basement! Yay! So, I wanted to start planning. I don’t have a clue what to do. It”s really dark down in the basement. Theres barley any windows just two in the laundry room. So, I wanted something really bright. But, not white because that’s boring. So, I have no Idea. I have some furniture but there white. So could you think of something that would match white desk and dresser? I would have to add a bar somewhere for a closet or something. I have a few drawers but I need a little room for a few dresses. I want a new bed comforter any way. And I can re paint it pretty much any way I want. I just need colors and themes for my new room. I can get like lamps and such too. But, nothing too expensive. Please help!
