So I am getting married in March (OMG!) I’m really excited. Anyway, my fiance and I are paying for everything and we’re on a tight budget, so we found this really nice garden park where we can have the wedding ceremony, they also cater and hold receptions, the only thing is that their reception room is WAY more than we care to spend on it. So our apartment complex has a really nice club house, it has a full kitchen, a bar area, a HUGE fireplace, chairs and couches, a big screen tv, the works. We were thinking of having our reception there. We are only have 30 people including us to both the ceremony and the reception. Our wedding will also be at 9am with a continental b-fast at the reception. So at the club house we would decorate to fit my black and white/bride and groom theme, and have the wedding favors placed here and there for people to take. How does that sound, do you think it sounds too cheap?

Help me choose a paint color!?

I need a little help choosing a paint color. I’m not looking for anything extreme, but I also don’t want a basic white/off-white color. Here’s a little background on my furniture/other accessories:

I have one large room which will be a living room on one end, and a dining room on the other end. I can divide up the two rooms by color, as well. My two couches are a light tan color with dark espresso wood legs. Also, the remainder of my wood furniture in the living room area (media tower, barstools, coffee table, end tables) are all the dark espresso finish. The only color I have for this space are red throw pillows and a red lamp with brass features. I was originally thinking a deep gray would work, but I’m not so sure. I can also buy other paintings/accessories to tailor to any wall color, as long as it goes with my existing furniture.

For the dining area, there is a bit more color. I have the same color scheme in the furniture (light tan cushions on the seats, dark espresso coffee table and bar). I also have red, orange and yellow in my accessories and art (orange and red in the main painting, red vases/glassware on the bar as decoration, and an orange table-runner with brown and tan candle assortments in a centerpiece). Any suggestions for this part of the room?

The only color I’m adament about staying away from is yellow, and I’d prefer for the color to not be too deep or too bold, unless it’s just an accent wall.

Thanks!

We are building a barn style house. It has a fairly rustic inside - knotty pine cabinets (as soon as I finish them!), knotty pine ceiling, cedar post fence-style railing on the edge of the loft, knotty pine doors, mismatched furniture, and so on.

Someone saw an old saddle I am cleaning up for a friend of mine (yeah, the moldy one!) and said, "OH! You’re going to make saddle stools for your bar! What a great idea!"

Okay, I’ve never heard of saddle bar stools before, but I DO have on antique side saddle, an old english saddle, a western saddle with a broken tree, and another one that has never fit any horse I tried to put it on. None of these saddles should ever be put on a horse, so it’s not like I’m ruining usable tack.

So what do you think? Saddle bar stools to go along the breakfast bar down the center of the main room? They would be about the first think you saw when you walked in the front door. I would need 5 or 6 (and I’ve already got 4). Too much? or really cool?

Oh, and there are 6 other chairs, plus 3 couches, and a whole pile of folding chairs if needed, so it’s not like anybody would HAVE to sit on a saddle.

Thanks for your opinions.

I ask this because My dog has a tape worm that is coming out in pieces in her stool and from her butt hole.

We found worms tonight on her butt, in her mouth, on the kitchen floor, on her dog pillow, on our couches and on our blankets. (We are currently cleaning the heck out of the house with bleach etc.)

We are further concerned because even though I live at my Mom’s house currently and I am NOT touching the dog, I am 9 months pregnant.

1.) Will the tape worm come out quickly?
2.) Will it continue to come out in HUGE pieces after she gets the medicine?
3.) Should I go live with my sister for the time being because I am 9 months pregnant?

Thank you in advance

*It’s totally yucky, Don’t allow your dog to eat dead rabbit carcasses*

What should I change in my story?

Julia hunched over her computer. She was on a pet adoption website. Scrolling through photos of countless dogs she clicked one. Its tongue hung out lazily and bright eyes seemed to gaze excitedly at her. Scrolling down she read its name and breed. It read “Name: Charlie- Age: 9 months- Breed: Terrier” Nine months! That was a whole load younger than her old, boring dog Chomps. When he was a puppy, this name had fit him, but at the age of 9 he should’ve been renamed Old Yawner. Glancing behind her, Chomps was fast asleep on her bed, his pink tongue lolled out from the side of his mouth and twitched his foot in the depths of a dream. Clicking the back button, she searched for a new dog. She was just about to click one when a voice drifted into her room, “Juuuuulia!” Her mother called, “Have you finished your homework.” Julia groaned. She had forgotten all about it. Now she had a page of math, history notes, and an English essay due all tomorrow. She wished she hadn’t saved it to the last minute! “Almost there!” She yelled back. Dragging out her back pack, she quickly did her homework.
Clomping down stairs, she turned into the T.V. room. She heard the familiar panting and heavy paw steps as Chomps followed her down. She slumped into one the couches and turned on Sponge bob, it was the episode where Gary runs away to go and live with Patrick. She wondered if Chomps would do that. Who cares? She thought. Almost on key, Chomps began to whimper. Sighing she got up. “What’s up old guy?” She questioned. He whimpered and whined even more. “Hush! It’s ok! Shhh!” Try to hush the dog didn’t seem to be working. Finally we went quiet. Sinking back into her chair she continued to watch her show. Chomps began to whine again. “Errr.” Hoisting herself up she went over to him. “What now?” She grumbled. Julia put her hand on his head and scratched behind his long and floppy ears. He groaned with delight. A gurrr, she thought, a dogs purr. “Now,” she said, “If you cry again I will be very annoyed. Got that?” Chomps stared at her. His big brown eyes were wide. “Oh, I hate when you do that look!” Sitting down she rubbed his belly and watched her show.
“Hello!” Julia called as she got in the house. She had just gotten off the school bus. It had been a particularly cold walk from down the street. It had snowed that night before and the wind was bitter. She heard the thumping of steps as Chomps came dashing towards her. Bowling her over, he licked her ears and face. “Eww! Chomps stop that!” Wiping the dog slobber off her face she glowered at Chomps. “Hello Julia! How was school?” Her mom asked, suddenly towering over her. “Fine. Until Chomps came and nearly licked me to death!” Her mother laughed. “What? It’s not funny!” Her mother stopped laughing, but a smile never left her face.
It was Friday. She thought about what to do on the upcoming weekend. Then it hit her. I know! I will see if I can go to the animal shelter! She could meet that cute little dog Charlie! Following her mom into the kitchen, she sat in one of the counter stools and watched as her mother unloaded the dish washer. “What are we going to do over the weekend?” She asked. “Well, Chomps is going into the vet for a check-up tomorrow.” Her mother replied. “Fun! Are they going to tell you again how chomp is still five pounds overweight and to stop feeding him table scraps?” Julia said scornfully. “You can be very critical sometimes! You wait and see until one day you feel bad about that!” Her mother scolded. Julia glared angrily at her mother. She over reacts to much! Julia thought with anger. She stormed up to her room and flung the door shut. She threw herself to her bed and yelled. Luckily, the mattress muffled the sound so only she could hear it. Then, something banged on her door making the knob shutter. “Go away mom!” She growled. The knob still jiggled. “I said, GO. AWAY.” The knob still jiggled. Furious she swung open her door. “In walked Chomps. “Oh, it’s just you.” Walking back to her bed she let herself fall forward onto it. The bed sunk next to her. Chomp was curled up against her. She didn’t mind. Burring her face in his medium length brown her she let herself be comforted.
It was Saturday morning. Julia’s mother had already left to bring Chomps to the vet for his monthly check up. She thought about yesterday afternoon when chomps had comforted her and let her sleep on his warm fur. Chomp’s is a good friend, She thought. She thought about going online again to look at all those cute puppies. She decided not to. For some reason she felt wrong doing that. She wondered why. She began to think about Charlie the terrier, but instead of that nine month old dog, a picture formed in her mind of a nine year old dog. Chomps, She thought. She sat downstairs on the sofa, catching up on her reading. The doorbell rang. Annoyed she wondered who it might be. Marking her page she got up

Does this sentence make sense?

Capital money will be spent on bar equipment, security systems, tables, chairs, booths, couches, sound systems, lighting systems, and initial inventory

How can I make it sound better?

A poem for Giggles……c/c?

well gather yer chairs your bar stools
your fine cushioned couches
it’s time for a tale a story
all welcome ‘cept grouches
also no trolls no snitches
no bad-as thumbs-downers
no asssholes no bitchesss
no perpetual frowners
It’s time to learn yahoos

a lady a looker
a real freakin charma’
I call her sputters
but you better not
she loaded, well-heeled
and blazin red hot
I hear the crowd gasp
with woe-is-me-mutters
and in walks the giggling
two-barreled-babe…sputters!!!

More Criticism Wanted!!!!!?

Now, in my opinion, I think this is horrible. I’m looking for ways to make it better. Don’t just tell me what’s wrong with it, but what I can do to improve it. That’s what I’m looking for. Thank You.

After using the stairs of a long, five-floor walk-up apartment, we finally arrived at door 513. My mother and I both dropped the bags at the door as she searched her pockets frantically for her keys. She was always the one to misplace things, especially important things. Thankfully, today was not one of those days, and she found them after about two minutes of looking.
Inside the apartment, it was not what I had been expecting in the least. “Wow,” crept out from my lips while I searched the high-arched ceilings, draped down from them hung white cloth and from the large window at the end of the room were flowers hanging from poles upholstered above them. It was early, and the sunlight reflected off the whole room, illuminating it. When I first stepped in, I was in the kitchen, but the whole apartment was an open space, except for two hallways, one on either side of the space. The kitchen was long and white tiles ran across the floor beneath my feet, on the left hand side were the refridgerater and other kitchen utilities, on the right was a nice set up table with four wooden chairs surrounding it, with a vase in the middle. No flowers were inside the long, violet colored vase. Past the kitchen was a wooden floored room, bright from the day, the sun reflected off the two long stretched couches on either side of the room surrounding a large television, a coffee table right in the middle. It was original, but it was homey. I felt comfortable here already. I took off my shoes and started down one of the hallways, the right.
“You’ve got a good sense of direction,” My mother snickered, I guessed I was headed the right way to my new room. I smiled at her, and turned, continuing my journey.
The room reeked of fresh paint. The walls were creamy with blue ribbons dancing through the middle. I inhaled the scent of rejuvenation, a sense of a new beginning. I finally had a chance to start over. I set down my bags that I had carried in from the front room by the queen-sized bed in the left corner of the room. Of course my mother had chosen this room for me, she knew me all too well. I opened the sliding glass door, it stuck and I had to budge it open. I told myself to set a reminder to oil it later tonight. The balcony was not large, but not miniature, it was exactly right. I lifted my hand to feel the wind graze it. There was nothing on the balcony except for a small, black stool to sit on, to smoke. I looked down at the trees coming halfway up the building, the busy streets crowded with cars and people walking on the sidewalks. I felt exhilarating as I imagined letting my hair down so Jesse could climb up and save me.
Ugh, sidetracked again. Jesse would not be the one to do that. Not then, not now, not ever. I sat on the stool and hung my head towards the ground. I shouldn’t delude myself, I thought. Steadily, I sat back up, determined to begin that new life, and walked back into the house. I examined my room more thoroughly. A mohogany dresser was positioned across from the large bed, and a nightstand right next to the bed. I spotted a walk-in closet on the side of the room that I had came in through, I peeked in. There were a few new pairs of blue jeans that Pam must have picked out for me, a welcome home present. I blushed at the gesture, then composed myself.
“Mom!” I yelled so she could hear me from the other room, “You really didn’t need to buy me anything. It’s enough letting me stay with you.”
She came into the room then, knowing that I had settled, “I wanted to, now don’t give me any grief for it.” She said while she put her hands around my waist. I hugged her, and tried to hide my tears by pressing my face into her shoulder.

My boyfriend and I have 2 female cats and we went on vacation and had one of his friends watch the cats for us while he stayed at our house. Well, we were gone for 10 days and came back to find out the cat had run off the day we left, but came back a couple days later. Evidently she brought back fleas but our friend didn’t realize it, so for a week, the fleas were laying eggs and breeding (in his defense, he works long hours and he only made sure the cats had food and water and that their litter boxes were kept clean). So, we came back and went straight to bed after our long flight back from Hawaii and then we had to go to a wedding the afternoon after we got home and got home late that night again. It was only the next morning that we were aware that there were fleas in our ho\
use, and quite a few. My poor babies, when I was petting them, had fleas all over. The cats are at the vets now and he said he’ll take care of their fleas, but we have to take care of the fleas in our house otherwise the cats will get reinfested. He said we either had to use flea bombs/ foggers or we had to have an exterminator treat the house. I don’t feel comfortable setting off flea bombs because I’m afraid I’ll screw it up and breath in a bunch of chemicals so I’m trying to convince my boyfriend that the extra money for the exterminator is worth it. They’re coming from Orkin tomorrow for an inspection/evaluation and I was wondering if anyone knew what a flea extermination would entail. Do they spray chemicals everywhere? We have some oriental rugs and hard wood floors, and since we’re still remodeling, we only have linoleum in the kitchen. What about our upholstered furniture? We have a living room and a den with couches and pillows. Plus our bedroom and the guest bedroom. I just would like to know what the general protocol is and what goes into flea extermination. Oh, one more thing, does it take more than one visit? And how much would I be looking at to spend for a medium sized house? I’m guessing definitely more than 0 but hopefully under 0. Sorry for the jumbled questions, but I would really love to know what to expect. Thanks so much.
