nothing fancy, just a name.. a small bar, some couches / seats and invite friends and whomever, regardless of knowing them.
or if i did a public invite via myspace to my bar, making sure all id’s are checked.. would a permit be needed?

I have a setting of two 2 seater sofas and a single, the problem is that I don’t know what to do with them in terms of throw cushions. They look lost and bare without anything and the cushions I have on them now are really dated (2 brown and 2 green cushions all the same size). I want to buy something new to put on the couches but have no idea what to buy or how to place them. Any ideas?

Is my house nice????????????

all my friends said they wish they lived in my house. I honestly hate my house. So would you want to live in my house? I’ll describe it below.

My house:
-I guess it’s kinda big, it’s like a little less then 6k square feet.
-it has 3 floors including the basement
-it has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms
-it’s made out of brick,lime stone,and glass
-it has 3 huge fire places
-it’s on a really high mountain with a great view
-when you first come through the front door there’s small a hall way with a closet on the left and an antique table with heirlooms on it and a small collection of books
-then to the right is my dads office
-it has a pretty expensive desk with and antique table, with pictures on it,a huge wooden painting hand made from the 16th century,a big closet with DVDs and blue rays and an old stereo system, two flat screen computers but there old (like 7 years old) but we might up grade
-then there’s the living room
- it has two pretty nice couches and 1 really expensive one (like k),an antique armoir with sort of a flat screen (it looks like one from the front but the back is a little big but it has great graphics and everyone thinks it’s a flat screen) and a wii and blue ray player, then behind it is all glass and you see completely over the mountains, then too the right corner there’s a pretty big Granite bar area with two hand carved stools, theres a huge brick fire place, and a Persian rug that’s worth k. Also are living room has very high walls (like 20 feat high)
-then there’s the kitchen
-the kitchen is pretty big too with high walls,it has a huge lime stone fire place,a granet table, plastic counters, all stainless steal stuff (microwave, refrigerator, oven, dish washer ect)
-also that’s glass too and then there’s the porch
-the porch is made out of lime stone and brick,it’s got a view over the mountains,a stainless steal grill,a lime stone table, and chairs
-then there’s my parents room
-my parents have a huge king bed that was very expensive, another brick fire places that’s big but a little smaller then the rest,a regular tv, a glass wall,a walk in closet and a bathroom, also theres a lot of antiques
-there’s also a bathroom by the kitchen
-then up stairs Is my room
-it has a view of the mountains, modern furniture, two closets,an xbox 369, a flat screen,2 year old flat screen computer, and a big queen bed
-then there’s a hall way that goes too the guest room
-the guest room just has a queen bed, stereo system, tread mill, closet, and mini old tv
-the garage has a non flat screen 62 inch tv,a regular white refrigerator, and an Infiniti and Lexus parked in it. But there not brand new there a few years old but in great shape

Would you wanna live in my house? I think it sucks it’s too vintage and needs more technology too even it out. So do you or do not want to live in my house? And why?

I have very expensive furniture that Im using on outside deck and I have noticed rat droppings on and around couches, how do I disinfect them? wash them with what ??

I’m looking for a large open floor plan with emphasis on couches, soft music and darker lighting rather than dancing, loud music, and barstools. Would that fall under the category of lounge or is there a different term for this?

Patio furniture?? wooden futon?

Okay, I live in a apartment complex. We have lived here for two year and the past 6 moths we have used a wooden futon outside on our patio. My apartment manager has decided that this is an "eyesore" and has to be removed immediately. To my knowledge, there are 5 other people with futons as well along with regular couches and even a washer and dryer… I was wondering is a futon considered patio furniture?

I have a semi-big backyard and I want to use the stuff we have in the backyard to create a nice cool shaded area for the family dogs. We have a patio that has a caged area (a place where we sit outside and watch TV[the cage is so the dogs dont get in the house]) and the other half of the patio has 2 couches that the dogs lay on (they are old and torn up), so I was thinking I could make an area there. We have an old lounge chair that I could use as a decorative gate, but it wont black anything, it will just look nice, I have a bar that used to be part of a swing chair that we put a blanket on to block shade, and 2 dog houses (well, 3 considering it has a cage opening, the other 2 have open openings)

so my question is, how can I use those items to create a cool and shaded environment for the dogs?
thx :D

and I posted this in the V&V section bc you people are nice and answer almost every question that pops up here :D
and you care about animals :D

So I am getting married in March (OMG!) I’m really excited. Anyway, my fiance and I are paying for everything and we’re on a tight budget, so we found this really nice garden park where we can have the wedding ceremony, they also cater and hold receptions, the only thing is that their reception room is WAY more than we care to spend on it. So our apartment complex has a really nice club house, it has a full kitchen, a bar area, a HUGE fireplace, chairs and couches, a big screen tv, the works. We were thinking of having our reception there. We are only have 30 people including us to both the ceremony and the reception. Our wedding will also be at 9am with a continental b-fast at the reception. So at the club house we would decorate to fit my black and white/bride and groom theme, and have the wedding favors placed here and there for people to take. How does that sound, do you think it sounds too cheap?

Help me choose a paint color!?

I need a little help choosing a paint color. I’m not looking for anything extreme, but I also don’t want a basic white/off-white color. Here’s a little background on my furniture/other accessories:

I have one large room which will be a living room on one end, and a dining room on the other end. I can divide up the two rooms by color, as well. My two couches are a light tan color with dark espresso wood legs. Also, the remainder of my wood furniture in the living room area (media tower, barstools, coffee table, end tables) are all the dark espresso finish. The only color I have for this space are red throw pillows and a red lamp with brass features. I was originally thinking a deep gray would work, but I’m not so sure. I can also buy other paintings/accessories to tailor to any wall color, as long as it goes with my existing furniture.

For the dining area, there is a bit more color. I have the same color scheme in the furniture (light tan cushions on the seats, dark espresso coffee table and bar). I also have red, orange and yellow in my accessories and art (orange and red in the main painting, red vases/glassware on the bar as decoration, and an orange table-runner with brown and tan candle assortments in a centerpiece). Any suggestions for this part of the room?

The only color I’m adament about staying away from is yellow, and I’d prefer for the color to not be too deep or too bold, unless it’s just an accent wall.

Thanks!

I’m looking to find a nice comfortable place to bring my gf. Maybe have a non-alcoholic drink, sit and talk. Preferably with nice chairs or couches as I’ll prob spend a lot of time there. Help to pls state the opening hours as well. Thanks you
Maybe places that are open to 3 or 4am?
