I have a dining room table and chairs that is in good shape I just want to restain it to an espresso stain is it possible?

I have two living room type areas, one that is smaller that is near a bar that connects to the kitchen the 2nd room has the dining table in, the two rooms are separated by a partition wall. The room that is near the kitchen with a bar, has another dining room table and we never use, so I want to do something with that space, but cant really afford new furniture

i’m not one to ask for stuff, even for my birthday or christmas i can never come up with ideas just cause i HATE asking.

well, we’re getting married in May and our families are already bugging us about what we want. we dont know. thing is, we’re getting our first home in the next month.

my mom threw us an engagement party in november, and our families bought us so much stuff (not that we had anywhere to put it) – picture frames, albums, dishes, matching kitchen canisters, spoon rest, salad tongs, glasses, mugs, my grandma got us monogramed towels for the bathroom, toaster, coffee maker… ever since i was younger my mom has always gotten me some sort of kitchen thing (waffle maker, crape makers, pots and pans, bakeware.. etc). my fiance and i bought silverware cause it was on sale like 1/4 of the price, and we have a blender, and he has really good knive sets and cutting board. we even have a full stocked bar so we have the entire barware and everything you can think of for that!

so now, we have no clue what to do for the registry, and my mom is getting pissed that we havent started doing it yet. but we dont know what to put on it. we need new bed sheets, but thats about it. between the two of us and all of our crap we already have 2 complete bathroom sets and bedroom stuff, my best friend’s mom died reciently and her exhusband just gave us a whole crapload of lamps, an oak dining room table and chairs, and 2 dressers since they had to clean out the house since it just sold

i’m really out of ideas on this one, so i have no clue… help please. i’ve only even bought stuff for one couple that got married and their registry was all plates and wine glasses and things like that… we have all that stuff! help!!
everything we got for our engagement hasnt even been opened yet since we were still living at home (and still are up until next month)

the knives are the only thing thats ever used but he just got those for christmas last year so they are still in great condition
as for the things my mom has bought over the years – the waffle maker has gotten used once a year for the past 5 years, and the blender only gets used a few times a year when we make margaritas (which isnt often)… so we have all this brand new stuff all over my mom’s basement thats just been sitting!!!

i guess towels and bed linens are a good idea being that ours are older and used (except for the set my grandma got us)

I would like to buy a new kitchen/dining room table.
I have two toddlers and hopefully will have another on the way soon, so it needs to seat at least 6. I want a table that is not tall (the kids fall ) and has no upholstrery (the kids spill), and does not have lots of cracks or glass to clean. A nice wood table would be good.

I can spend up to 1200 bucks. I would like it to last at least 6 years. Hopefully longer.

I have tried looking at several stores: JCPenneys (the tables were wobbley in the showroom)
The stool and dinette factory (the guy said they would break fast)
Ashley Furniture (they cant tell me what it is made of)
The roomstore (didnt see much that matched my description)
Lots of little stores around mesa and tempe az.

Any ideas of a good place to look for furniture?

I love Thomasville but it’s out of my priceline. Is there any comparable dining room furniture that I can buy that won’t kill me. I’m having it delivered to NC-by the beach in the spring. Would like it delivered straight there in case anything goes wrong. Any suggestions? Looking for dining room table, chairs, buffet, and matching bar stools.

Last night my roommate had about 6 of his friends over drinking under age and what not. On all MY furniture, using all my kitchen stuff, and my hookah. I woke up and my house was TRASHED. About 3 bags of garbage on the floor, two or three empty boxes of beer, food all over the kitchen, my dining room table moved to the living room with beer cans piled up on it. chairs knocked over, two guys sleeping on my couch. Then I go outside to find my scooter (parked in front of the house) was knocked over and had a good amount of damage. It’s only THREE months old! I’m sooooo pissed! I filed a police report, but they said there’s pretty much nothing else that can be done. It had to be one of the 6 people over since there was a beer can near the scooter and everything! There has to be SOMETHING I can do! Help!
I can’t kick him out, he’s on the lease. I am moving out in 12 days though. I just wish I could do something about my brand new scooter that is not damaged

My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 1/2 years but we have never actually lived together. We are moving into an apartment on the 10th and I wanted to knoq what kind of furniture and decor we need. We lived in apartments for 2 years in college so we already have a lot of furniture We already have:

Can you think of anything else that we need?

1. I have a dining room.

2. Said room is without a table.

3. I have a kitchen table that fits the kitchen color scheme.

4. The kitchen table used to be a dining room table but will not fit my dining room color scheme.

5. Tables are on sale at the local furniture store.

6. Tables tend to be filled up with mail and things; it’s a law of nature.

7. I always eat in front of the TV anyway.

Our cats have generally been compliant when we establish that an area like the kitchen counter is off limits, but they will not stay off our dining room table & buffet – which we’ve had for about a month. The sun hits both of these pieces for several hours a day each afternoon, which I think is their main motivation for misbehaving. No other window in the house provides as much sunlight. We are about to install window treatments which may help block the sun, but I don’t think that will completely solve the issue.

They both hate citrus smells, but I don’t know how to keep a steady stream of that aroma going. This is my great-grandparent’s furniture so I have to be careful about what sprays or oils I use on/around it to avoid damage. Orange Glo has been our ally in the past, but I don’t trust it on antiques. Is there anything else I can try? Generally no one is home when they’re doing this – we just find piles of cat hair and askew table cloths/runners when we come home.

My house is set up in a way that if I want to paint my living room, dining room, and kitchen, I’d have to paint them all the same color. I plan on doing a light brown, tan-ish color, but I’m having trouble with accent colors because my boyfriend doesn’t want any red and our bedroom and master bath are going to be different shades of olive green so I don’t want too much of that.

Also, we’re planning on getting cherry furniture for the living room and a cherry dining room table, and the kitchen cabinets are pine. The floors in the living room and kitchen are hardwood (a little darker than the cabinets), and the kitchen has white-ish tile.

Should I stick to the same accent color scheme throughout the rooms since their walls will all be the same color, or should I change it up a bit?

I have quite a bit of clutter in every room. This clutter is mostly paper. There are some boxes and there are some things that belong other places such as the things on the kitchen counters, the things on the dining room table etc. The carpet was removed last November and this caused the furniture to be removed and then replaced. It is not placed the way I plan to keep it; it is just in the house instead of outside. I have so much clutter that it is overwhelming. I start in one room decluttering, but I become overwhelmed because of the seeming lack of progress ( I know that there is some progress, but there is such clutter that I become overwhelmed and stop.) I have tried to take one room a week. I have decided to take my smallest room and then clean and declutter it, but there is so much there that this idea is not working. I need to focus on something smaller just to start. Any help will be appreciated.

ok, so im looking for a really high table that like in order to reach ud need those really high bar stools…dont ask y….but it needs to be big too, i dont care what it looks like i just need a high table thats not like as big as a dining room table but pretty big, please. thank u!

Alright so we got rid of our kitchen table because it just took too much room in the kitchen and just didn’t look right.. The kitchen looks so much bigger! Anyways,
My mom and i want to convert the divider between the kitchen and dining room into like a snack bar (instead of using the dining room table , it’d be more convenient and almost like those little islands they have now in the middle of the kitchen) We’re looking to find a long strip of marble or something to make a table/bar out of it and get some stools to go along with it. Where would be the best place to find a reasonable priced kind of countertop to fit the divider?
My mom looked in home depot but they had countertops for a whole kitchen and we only need a long strip of it..
Can you help me out as to where to look for something like this?
i think the divider is about 67 inches long and 7 inches wide
