For the past three years now, every spring and into summer, the "same" bird begins to attack my cat. I believe the bird to have a nest about two hundred yards away, but the cat never goes near that location. The bird tracks the cat to the front of the house, chases under bushes and lawn or deck furniture. He or she quits only when the cat comes in doors (but the bird stays perched just outside as though stalking) or after dark. Last summer, the bird seriously injured the cat by pecking or clawing his head! My property is very small and the cat very rarely leaves it. How can I keep the bird away without hurting it. The bird is as large as a blue jay, but is grey. It is very raucous.

I have an adult female American Short Hair, she’s an indoor cat and hangs around our sun-room a lot. It gets pretty hot in there during the summer, even with the doors open (we’ve got screens in place so she doesn’t get out and no bugs get in.) I’d like to think that she has a natural instinct to come inside when it’s too hot out there for her, but I’m still worried about her getting overheated. Should I be?

As the latch unclicked indicating the lock had been picked ; I sighed in relief and slowly opened the door making sure not to step on the wooden floor . Keeping my feet on the carpet I slowly walk in followed by my friends equipped with bats and crowbars . Making our way to the dining room ; they get busy robbing the house while I walk in the living room in hope to find something that would get pawned easily . As I walk in I see a man sitting on the stool leaning against the kitchen counter eating an apple while holding a silenced .45 acp with the other . Already afraid of going to jail ; seeing the man my blood froze and then the idea of going to jail was most certainly welcomed . " Get out " said he , in a low intimdating voice . I ran grabbing my friend by the collar pulling him out and being followed by my other mates .
That night after telling them my tale , we sat in the living room watching the tv when the house we just tried to rob earlier that evening was now on the news . The news lady kept mentioning about how a hitman massacred the entire family and escaped . Frightened and completely shocked , we locked our doors and decided it would be best if they all crashed at my place that night . Trying to sleep and failing misreably ; I decided to go down for a drink to help me sleep when I noticed something warm beneath my feat . Upon switching the light I quickly realized the red mushy liquid was blood and everyone in the house except me was no more . Trying to escape something hit my upside the head and I fell hard bumping my head against the hard tiles . Looking up I saw a man with a pistol pointed at my head and a grin on his face . "Any last words ? " asked the man slowly squeezing the trigger . Afraid for my life and looking like a deer in headlights I cared no more about my messy feet or bleeding scalp . " Please , teach me " I requested and closed my eyes waiting to taste death for the first and last time .

I remember the clerk at the paint store telling me this could be done. Without going back, can someone please tell me how to do it and what I will need? The most heavily used knobs are now shiny brass instead of a rustic bronze…and those heavily used knobs are all in my kitchen. Maybe I should eat out instead and just close the doors!

Twice i’ve been having strange dreams about a korean guy with red skin (he had korean facial features, and somehow I knew he was korean) trying to break into my house. There was a bar (like a towel rack) in between the storm door and the regular door, and he was trying to put a roll of toilet paper on it? And I was trying to prevent him from doing so. He was also trying to push the door in and I was pushing it shut, and by the time a had the door shut and locked he threw the toilet paper at me. By the time the door was shut, I found that the bar in between the 2 doors reached all the way up to the second floor (my house is like this, Second floor, Stairs, Landing (The door is on the landing), Stairs, first floor.) and was attached to the chair up there. I had to move the bar out of the way to shut the door. Also, at one point in the dream it was like I was riding in a helicopter, and looking down at all the other houses in my neighborhood, and I thought they were on fire. I thought the korean guy was setting the houses on fire, but it turned out he was lighting bonfires in their yards?

Yeah, it was weird. Can anyone tell me what this means???

ok. im a 16 year old girl about to be a junior. i really want to redo my room COMPLETELY before the summers over. I have like 15-20 days. somewhere between that. here is what i was looking at that i really like:

i need ideas and pictures of what i could do with my room. its fairly big and has 2 doors in the corner one leads to the bathroom the other leads to the hallway. then the wall extends a little and theres my closet with a really old nasty mettal door the kind that u pull out and they fold open. its really old and always falls out of the tracks. it would be nice to have a door to my closet to hide all the clutter but if i cant find any neat ideas of fixing it up and painting it to look nice then im just gonna get rid of it and find a curtain for it . oh yeah! and curtains. i need some really cool curtains. something to match my bedsheets. i havent gone looking for anything yet but if you could sind some and put a picture of it in your answer then that would be great. i like ones in the picture i put. and instead of the chandelere (god i cant spell) above the bed. i have a really cute wooden pink BFF thing i could put there that my friend gave me i havent put it up yet.

i dont think my parents r willing to spend a bunch of money on this and i dont want to take anything away from my school clothes money so CHEAP IS GOOD and if theres anyway i could turn some crappy old thing into something really cool by painting it or fixing it up a little then i really dont care. so please help me

My mother has been disabled for about a decade now, and uses a walker. My home has had no modifications in the past decade to make it easier for her to get around, except for some furniture re-arranging.

Many of the things that would help (stability bars in bathrooms, wider doors, accessible bathtub, etc) are things that my family cannot afford, and my mom falls down a lot. I’m moving out in a year and want my family ready for when I leave, and making my house accessible for my mother is important to me.

I live in Oregon and my mother is on Medicaid, but does not qualify for SS or SSI.

Can I get some links to organizations or government help that can make the house more accessible for her?
Oh, and if someone can link me to an incontinence delivery service that accepts Oregon medicaid, that would be great.

She WAS on SSI, which was based on my fathers income, and they recently said they "paid her too much (600/month)" because my father has had an income the past three years (>,000/yr for a family of four) and now has to pay them back EVERYTHING.

We are trying lawyers, so far none will take her case

I have a flat fireplace in our family room. The walls are a greek olive color and our furniture is black. The room flows into our kitchen that is colored a light yellow with rosewood colored cabinets, with white wood blinds. How should I paint the fireplace frame? The doors are black glass surrounded with white tiles, which I don;t really like and I;m thinking of replacing them in the future.

I’m going to try and make this as short as possible. My brother in law and my sister drunk constantly. They are both in their late 20′s early 30′s. My brother in law on many ocassions, has exposed himself to me and my boyfriend, he’s urinated on peoples furniture, he drinks on his way home from work every day, my sister also drinks heavily and passes out at bars, has broken doors at bars, urinated in someones recliner, pukes, etc. My brother in law just got his 2nd DUI. They go through a case of beer every couple of days. They manage to go to work everyday. This happens on a regular basis.

When my brother in law got his DUI he blamed my boyfriend because my boyfreind was going to hang out with him that day and didn’t. We tried telling them we were concerned about their drinking and they blew up on us and are saying that we are lying. I brought up specific things with them and they swear up and down it never happened. They are telling everyone I’m a pathological liar and i need help.
They are trying to make me look bad and are bringing up everysingle thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’m 24 and I have to babysit them. They used to brag about how trashed they would get and how they didn’t remember the drive home. Do they have a problem or is it all me? The things they say I’m lying about my boyfreind was present for all of them so he witnesses it too. Their friends have told me they were concerned but wehn they confront their friends they deny saying anything because they don’t want to make them mad. My mom has stage 4 cancer and we are giong through enough stress and my sister calls my mom up to tell her I’m spreading rumors,etc. putting more b.s. on my parents. that they don’t need.

He also got busted for having weed on him when he got his DUI, the cop let him go for that one and he denies that ever happening too!

I like to drink and get drunk sometimes but I don’t behave like this and dont drive!
Is there a problem here or is this normal behavior?

Yes, they live on their own and I only worry about their habits because I don’t want them to kill someone else with their driving drunk. I don’t know when they do it each time.

Today he threw a complete fit and I walked in in the middle. He’s broken doors, walls, furniture, etc when he gets mad. It’s really scary because he’s 18 and he’s been working out since jr high so he’s really strong.
So I guess he and my mom were in a fight and I called her in the middle to give me ride home from school (I don’t have a car, and right now I don’t really want to walk) and on the way he called and my mom was driving so I answered her phone for her. He blew up at me and hung up. He called about 6 times and kept hanging up, then the phone died. We had to get gas for the car then we came home. He was laying on the kitchen floor, furniture everywhere kicking the washer. Then he just started blaming me for everything and saying things like I’m the stupid b**** who causes the problem because I wouldn’t put my mom on the phone (but he was the one hanging up, and my mom even tried calling him but he wouldn’t answer). My mom started crying and went in the other room and he just attacked me. He pushed me into the fridge and was twisting my arms until my mom said she was going to call the cops. Then he left for a wile.
This is just one story, but he’s like a lot and he almost always blames me for everything, and even when he’s being…nice? he calls me stupid b**** and stuff like that. He’s really only nice to me when he wants something, like to use my computer or things like that, and if i say no he gets mad at me. I think that’s the way he really feels, his being nice is just an act.
My other brother who’s in college takes medicine for being bipolar. Do you think my other brother is too? Even if he is, and he starts taking medication too, I still think he hates me, but I don’t know why. Even when he’s happy he’s still rude to me only instead of swearing and yelling at me, he and his friends are making fun of me (and not just joking around and having fun).
I don’t know, I just get annoyed being in fights with him all the time, and he never apologizes or anything ever, he always just blames me, even when (like in the story) I have no idea what’s going on.

I have lived with a man for 6 years. 5years ago he tore the inside of the house out. We only have a family room that is almost done. My kitchen is only 3 foot wide, no table, the bedrooms have no walls or doors, and his cats have used the whole house as their litter box. I am now dying from all the poisons of the urine on the furniture and the kerocene he uses to heat the house. I have been trying to move out, but he has also taken my money. Even the doctors have told him of my health is due to the house.

Long story here…we’re painting our kitchen cabinets to get our house ready to sell. They were a dark cherry color and everything else in our kitchen is light so we wanted to paint them white. They’re the originals in a 52 year old house. I read everything I could find online so they would look good and not like someone threw paint on them.

SO I cleaned them with TSP substitute solution and then used two coats of liquid deglosser. I didn’t think it was quite enough so I sanded them as well using tack cloth before priming them with 123 primer, I did two coats. The next day when I went to sand off excess and the primer peeled right off and would easily scrape off…I guess they weren’t deglossed enough. I of course was devastated b/c all the work I’d done seemed to have been for nothing. They looked horrible and so I stripped the primer off…it was a mess all over the doors. There is still a good amount of primer stuck in the insides of the door crevices, I’m still trying to get it all off.

I’m not exactly sure what to do next and have heard several different pieces of advice. Someone told me to use lacquer on them and that it would seal them and make the paint stick. Someone else told me to use KILZ but I’m afraid that will do the same thing the 123 primer did. I’m leaning towards using lacquer and have searched unsuccessfully online to see if that was an ok thing to do. The person who told me that said her son refinishes furniture all the time and does that so he doesn’t have to prime. Is this the right way to go? Most of the cabinet frames have only been cleaned, will they be ready to paint if I just lacquer them? I’ve worked on these stupid cabinets for about 24 hours so far and just want to be done with them, please help!

We need to do Something with our kitchen and dinning area. We haven’t really done anything with it since we moved in. Its pretty much empty except the things we need to cook and some boxes still stacked where the table should be We don’t have a table yet. I like the black set but, i think it adds more to think about when decorating and picking colors.. I don’t want the kitchen to seem too dark. Right now the cabinets and trim in the kitchen are kinda dark wood. but my boyfriend said he doesn’t care if we paint the cabinets since they will need to be replaced at some point (not now but maybe next year or the year after) But hes not sure if we should paint the trim and doors.
(cont.) Our counter tops are a light grey/blue laminate, the floors are sorta white/grey colored laminate tiles, which we might replace sometime also, but not for awhile. I really need some suggestions or ideas.. Pictures would be really helpful, or some good websites to look at. Thanks!
