I saw somewhere a country french kitchen that had alot of black accents and twall (may not have spelled right) fabric. They also used french sayings on the wall and roosters. I am trying to do this in my kitchen and have looked on Yahoo and Google search engines for examples of this style and have not found what I am looking for. I am not remodleing my kitchen, just restyling it. I have painted the walls and cabinets and now am looking for additional decorating ideas. Anyone got any ideas for this style I am looking for?

Nothing like rustic cabin stuff..I am looking for country floral, stripes, like a country farm house but White’s, Blues, Florals…I can’t find sofas or fabric furntiure anywhere..All the name brand stores carry all very dark furniture. I have all white painted furniture and would like to find sofas and chairs.
Any suggestions? I am in Southern Califonria if it helps.

I’m moving some wicker furniture from inside to my deck. There are some slip-covered cushions as part of the pieces, but i don’t think the fabric is very weather resistant. Can i treat the fabric somehow to handle rain, sun, etc or should i just have new cushion covers made?

I ordered cushions for my deck furniture in Sunbrella brand fabric "stone green." I want to purchase throw pillows in some kind of stripe or pattern to coordinate with the stone green. Doesn’t seem to exist. Does anyone have any suggestions. Wish I could see these things in person.
Thanks, folks, but I DON’T SEW. Wish I did, but didn’t grow up with anybody around who did, never took home ec or any of those things, so anyway I already found some that I ordered on-line. But thanks for your suggestions.

Just opened up my umbrella for my deck furniture and noticed all kinds of mold and mildew. The material is a dark tan so I can’t bleach it but want to get rid of the dirt and mold and green moss. It would be hard to scrub the fabric so maybe something that I can spray and then hose down?
Thanks!

I need to buy many yards (not sure how much yet) in order to drape around pilars for my wedding venue in a rustic barn. So I need a site not only with a large selection but large quantities of a particular fabric as well.

I have a rustic looking brown leather sofa and chair. I hate matchy furniture, so I am looking for a loveseat in other color and fabric. I love country/rustic/cottage styes. Any suggestions?
I also should say that I have children, and definitely want something pet, kid and male friendly!

I’m reupholstering the backrest an office chair back but I can’t remove the back plastic cover. I can see that the cover has four posts that look to snap or push fit into mating holes. I tried using pry bars and screwdrivers to force them apart without any luck. Any more force will certainly crack the cover. The part that the upholstery is stapled to and that the back cover also snaps into to is made of plastic. If I were to cut the fabric off and remove the foam pad would the holes that the posts push into be visible? I’m thinking if that’s the case I might be able to drive the posts out with a punch.
Solved- The back has expanding split barb fitting that pass thru holes in the other panel. You can actually feel them move behind the foam. Pinching the two barbs together by hand right thru the foam works but it easiest to cut the old fabric and pull back the foam for access. My barbed fittings were held on with screws which could be unscrewed once the foam was pulled back.

I have some light tan colored patio cushions. they faded last summer and over the winter they got all dirty and not nice looking. they are still in good shape. Can I dye them without cutting the fabric off of the foam? I am not good at sewing so recovering is not easy for me. These are by my pool so people will be sitting on them with wet bathing suits and they will be in the sun.

The furniture style is Palm Valley II and the brand is Better Homes and Gardens. I have extra pillows that I want to cover to match the fabric on the furniture.

We have had our "Cockalier" puppy since March she is 9 months old and she chews on everything. I have tried taking the "bad" item out of her mouth swatting her on the nose with a firm "NO" and then giving her one of her chew toys. That doesn’t work and I don’t believe that beating her will do any good. I don’t want to keep her crated all day so I gate her in our kitchen which is rather large while I am at work. To avoid the mess her chewing makes I took all of the furniture out of the kitchen and she started chewing on the cabinets. She has several different kinds of chew toys because I thought it would help. I have tried putting products that taste bad on hard surfaces but the real problem is when she takes clothing out of laundry baskets and chews them up I can’t put those products on fabric that I intend to wear. I am really at a loss of what to do with her. I cant let her into the rest of the house unsupervised for even a minute because I am worried she will continue to ruin more clothes, blankets, rugs, etc. I don’t want to get rid of her because her chewing is the only problem we have with her and she is good tempered with children and I have on on the way.
I ONLY WANT ANSWERS FROM PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND HAVE SOME KIND OF EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SITUATION

Hi. I live in an apartment. On thursday they found that my neighbor that lived opposite of me died. We had beenn smelling wierd smell four days before they found him. As the days passed the smell got worse. we couldnt figure it out. to me smelled like toilets or something. Well it turns out he died in sleep and was there for about a week before people found him. CSI came and cleaned up. burned his bed and carpet with chemcals. and left his window open to air out. His stuff is still in there. WEll i picked up and left with my kids and husband because we got creeped out an the smell got so much worse. I am now leaving that apartment. I cannot lie there any more. i cant be there knowing that smell came here.
my question is when the body is decaying and the smell came in our apartment could there be airborne diseases that i should be concerend about and if they are on all my stuff. second I am throwing away everything. all our clothes our furniture our entire kitchen stuff. Just keeping pictures, home videos and things that were same in closed boxes. Am i overexagerating or am i right to do this. keep in mind the smell is not going away and it was horrendously tramatic. I dont think smell will go away from anything fabric.
Are there any CSI or coroners that can answer this.
thanks

Hey guys,
I’m looking to paint my bedroom. We currently have a mix-match of furniture (white, oak veneer, and cream) and a duvet cover that is a blueish gray with stitching in the shape of leaves that is taupe in colour. The sheets match the stitching.
I’d like to have the wall the bed is on really stand out as I don’t have a headboard. I was thinking jewel tones (I love purple and my bf has relented to let me paint ONE wall purple).
My current plan is light gray, almost steel coloured for 3 walls, and a deep almost eggplant purple for the wall at the head of the bed. Barring that, all 4 walls the gray and I buy some fabric and make a padded headboard.
Any suggestions??
