Will they stop eating at restaurants, thus restaurants will go out of business?
Will they stop taking vacations, thus the travel industry will suffer?
Will they stop buying clothes, and furniture, cars, homes, etc.?
vbasic says "end of innovation." That is based on a flawed assumption that all inovation is financially driven. There are people who are inovative regardless of financial gain.

If I could create my own ideal city, i would like it to be very nice, clean, lots of green (I think a city needs a lot of green, like grass, trees, etc…), diversity, and very BIG with lots of highways.
Because the city will be very big, I would love to have lots of people maybe 800,000 to 900,000 people in it from different cultural backgrounds, but they must be friendly. There would be lots of businesses and factories that manufacture clothing, shoes, appliances, food, furniture, etc. They would be made affordable to people. Education would be free to elementary and middle school students from tax, but made very affordable especially for students who strive for a higher education; college. The minimum wage would start at 9.50 an hour to help people pay for bills, housing materials, etc. Housing would be quite expensive, because I think that if anyone wants to live in a really nice house, they must work for it because it’s a prized possession. This city would be huge in attractions for family and friends, especially concerts. Entertainment: Restaurants, movie theatres, parks, recreational areas, theme parks, water parks, zoos, etc. This city would be the center for concerts as far as entertainment goes.
This city would be friendly and open minded, and full of opportunity.

I was reading "The real Rosebud: the triumph of a Lakota woman" and I came across with a paragraph which topic was the social acceptance of the protagonist’s indian father and white mother in american society. This is the phrase in question:
"..While attending a meeting in Denver they overheard a threatening comment in the hotel bar about an Indian man with a white woman. That night they piled furniture against the door of their room."
I just don’t get it, what would be the purpose of that couple for piling furniture against their door just because someone didn’t like they being together?, it doesn’t make sense to me, plz someone explain it.

I’m taking an interior design class. our main project is a bedroom remodel. We have absolutly NO limits. I was planning on enlarging the room and adding a deck/porch. I plan on using colors like pale yellows and pretty greens. Does anyone have any links that could help me with flooring selections/paint colors/furniture/anything? Also, if anyone has ANY ideas then please offer them. It can be anything, so be creative!!
I am doing my own homework. Asking opinions of what looks nice to others is pretty important in interior designing if you ask me. I’m just looking for someone to say something that will spark some idea for me, as I cannot decide on a theme.

1. Just bcos u r working- do u not expect any gifts from your husband?
2. How do you feel when your husband "LETS" you pay & does not offer to pay when you go shopping for (a) your stuff- like clothes, jewelery (b) common stuff like restaurant, food, furniture, etc.
3. Do you OK if he thinks that you would buy him stuff when you go for shopping for your stuff.. eg. my husband said "can u get me a scarf when u go there to give some clothes for u"?
I understand nowadays, it is all equal & also the financial burden.. but i feel that i am a li’l old-fashioned in hoping that my husband gets me stuff like simple rose or earrings, without my asking him.. what wud be ur response for the above questions

I just started a business buildng decks and fences. We specialize in doing custom designs . Im having trouble in many areas so far and I have a list of obstacles in my way:
* I am unorganized with paperwork whether it be a design for a customer or ideas for the business i basically lose everything before as soon as i am finished with it.
* Im new to bidding. I have experience building but i get stumped when Im giving an estimate and it makes me look inexperienced. Im afraid it also may portray me as a snake which i absolutely am not.
* I have ads in two newspapers and i just dont seem to get enough business.
My goal is to have my own design firm some day and possibly have some of my own products sold at furniture and hardware stores but i have to get past this stepping stone.
IF ANYONE COULD JUST GIVE ME SOME IDEAS TO FIX MY PROBLEMS AND HELP ME COME UP WITH A SYSTEM PLEASE HELP.

A few days ago I moved into my new apartment/studio. It’s really big for a college dorm, something like 90 square feet, and I already have most of the furniture: queen size bed, desk, TV+stand, couch, salon table, make-up table, closet, bar. But the walls are still white, I’m unsure how to decorate them?
Although my personal style varies between Indie, Punk, Ska and Surf, I’m not sure what to do with the room. I’d like it to look cozy and lived-in, but at the same time, I want it to look spacey and Zen. Also, I’ll be studying in here, which means I can’t have too much clutter lying around, but I have a design major and I want my room to be inspirational.
Lastly, there’s the "growing up" issue. I’ll have to keep this place for at least three more years and while I’d like to make look "fun", I don’t want to regret painting the walls purple or something like that. In fact, I’d rather not paint the walls fully, perhaps only a few small shapes.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do with my room? The walls are what I’m most uncertain about, but I’d also love to read some tips on other things to make my room look better

I have used pepper spray, bleach, household cleaners, etc and nothing works. As soon as I get the smell gone, they come back and spray again. I read something in the "HALEY’S HINTS" book that perfume can stop a cat from scratching on the furniture, but not sure if it will work for stray-spray. I’ll try it and let everyone know if it works.

Our Carport is semi- attached to our house – We put up a trellis wall with french doors to make it an open air room (it now is part of our deck area) It’s a great space and have added furniture & plasma TV- Can we add the 500 sq feet of this new space to the overall square footage of our house?

I mean the week, month or even the last day. When theres no fuel for cars, no crude oil to make medicines, no more metals to extract from the earth, No more trees to make furniture. I was thinking about how many cows, pigs and animals must be slaughtered every day to put all the meat in all the restaurants and supermarkets all over the world. Apprently its going to happen in the next 30 years. Becuase lets face it no matter how hard we try to recycle we will eventually run out. Will there be riots, wars. I am actually sooo scared of this. Someone please give me some good news.
