How to anchor a glass patio table to my lawn?

Have a heavy iron patio set with an umbrella stand that weighs 30 pounds. Problem: when it is a little breezy the umbrella tips the table over. The umbrella is secured properly and the table is on a flat even surface. Any ideas before my glass table is ruined?

I just bought some patio furniture with a glass table top from a garage sale. On the underside of the glass is some kind of solid color, but I can’t figure out what it is, and therefore, figuring out how to remove it. I tried everything I could to remove paint from glass (paint stripper, razor), with no luck, telling me that it must not be paint. Any ideas as to what it is? The edges of this ‘color’ have been chipped away from the edges of the glass, but I can’t seem to scrape anymore off. I really don’t want to have to buy new glass because it seems expensive. Any recommendations?

What color livingroom furniture should i buy?

So we have an open downstairs where all the rooms basically connect and are open. The dining room as all black furniture (diningroom table, chairs, and hutch) and the kitchen cabinets are an medium oak color that came with the house. Theres a little kitchen nook where we have 2 black metal stools on the kitchen island and a small round glass table with black metal for the chairs and table itself. The living room we are getting new furniture a lighter tan color couch and we want a new entertainment center and end tables and coffee table but I dont know what color wood. I dont want the same color as the kitchen cabinets.. and im not sure if I should stick to black even tho that would be the best matching option. I just feel like it would all be too much black. Please let me know your opinion

I purchased a patio set from Chase Pitkin before it closed and now I need the name of the brand to fix a broken item. The table is black aluminum with a greenish tinted glass table top. The chairs are also black aluminum slingback with green meshlike seats/seat back. It also has a black umbrella stand with green umbrella. This set also came in blue. Please help!

Question about the Hook on High Chair?

I was thinking about getting one of those hook to the table high chairs (specifically this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4407774#ProductDetail ) because I don’t have a lot of room for a regular high chair. But I have a glass table (yes I know you can’t use this on a glass table). I was wondering if you think I can use this on my breakfast bar? I mean I’m not getting it today or anytime soon because I’m only 15weeks pregnant, Due December 16, 2009… But I was just looking into it lol. Thanks!

I have never really made my cats stay off my coffee and end tables. I’ve always yelled at them if I saw them on my kitchen table though. Well the other day I noticed 3 huge marks on my kitchen table, and it looks like claw marks. It sucks! They already ruined my coffee table, but now my kitchen table too!. But I try to shoo them off or yell at them and then two seconds later they they are on the table. How do you start disciplining an animal that’s been allowed to do something for so long? Or should I just buy glass table and forget it?

We cannot paint anything so although I would appreciate color advice, unfortunately I don’t need it! ANY ideas would be helpful & keep in mind that I am a college student so my income is limited. My bedroom furniture is neutral & I may be getting a new bed probably a dark wood. I like these color schemes: chocolate brown & pale blue…and also black, white & turquoise and possible chocolate brown & turquoise. My living room furniture is a sand color couch and loveseat with dark wood table/shelf. I really don’t have ideas for that room. My dining room opens off of my living room and I have a pub style glass table with stone insets in the middle with a matching pattern on the charis which have a light tan microsuede seat. Again any ideas for the walls or table centerpiece would be appreciated. My bathroom has a bright pink and bright orange shower curtain so all that I am looking for here is maybe some pictures that would tie in. Lastly my computer room: so far the furniture going in there is just a desk & chair with absolutely NO ideas on what to hang up or what type of theme/scheme! All suggestions will be appreciated and helpful! Thank you…I’ve drawn a blank lol

Where can I find parson chairs in four different colors?

I fell in love with a dining set I saw on Macy’s website but it’s a bit out of my reach. It has four different colored parson chairs: beige, deep orange, burnt and moss with a round glass table. I have been searching online to find these colors but I can’t. It would be great if I could find these colors in parson chairs and then I could go look for a glass table anywhere else. Any advice would be appreciated.

Need advice on Kitchen Table?

I just moved and I’m working on decorating my house, but I’m having a really hard time deciding on what to do for a kitchen table.

The way the room is designed is so that there is one space, about 36 ft. long providing the kitchen, area for a kitchen table and then the family room. The only thing that divides the kitchen area from the family room is the fact that the kitchen has tile and the family room has carpet. Now, the problem is that in my kitchen I have a lighter colored maple cabinet, I believe it is often referred to as honey, but I’m not positive. When I was decorating for the family room I knew that I wanted a large media center to house my tv and other things. The only color I could find them in, other than oak (which wouldn’t have worked with the style I have) was a dark cherry. So, no I’m very concerned about being able to make the transition from the kitchen table to the family room media center and somehow getting the table to work with both rooms.

The only thing I have thought of was a glass table. The only problem is that I can only find glass tables in round sizes instead of rectangle, which I’m not sure if it would work right. The kitchen itself is about 18 ft. long and the area where the table would sit is about 10ft. 8in.

I went searching last weekend and I found one table that I think may work: http://www.kanesfurniture.com/furnituredetail.aspx?CategoryID=95&PackageID=28811 I liked the look of the table and I also like that I can get matching bar stools. The bar sets in the same area as the table, so I’d like to get them to match as well if I can.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other info about the room, setup, colors, etc. just let me know and I can get anything.

Thanks so much!
Thanks for your reply:

My colors are:

Paint: Beige
Countertops: Beige: http://www.silestoneusa.com/colors/colors.cfm?ColorID=29
Carpets: Beige
Tiles: Kind of an orange and teracota color, chosen to match the maple cupboards.

I looked at some of the cherry tables when I was at some furniture styles and the only concern is that the cherry won’t look right since it would be right next to my maple cupboards. The kitchen is in eat in style kitchen, so the table would be closest to the maple cupboards and the dark cherry media center would be about 10ft. away or so.

I’m not looking for anything too fancy, just something that would tie the rooms together and look nice.

Thanks again!
