I’m looking to start my own bar in a small town (40,000 people). So it’s not going to be an upscale bar, it’s a blue collar community. I could pay for some items out of pocket (glasses, furniture, decor, billards tables, entertrainment, music related items, ect.). I was going to consult the VA reguarding the establish/lot. But i was seeking a SBL to pay for the business/liquor license, walk in cooler/freezer, 2-3 month supply of beer/liquor and payroll. Would anyone have an idea of how much money i could possibly get from a SBL (I make around ,000 year as of now). I would be willing to put my house up for collateral (0,000 value). Are there grants or any other benefits i would be entitled to for such a business? If you have any other advice not reguarding this subject feel free to post your thoughts, thanks for your time.
I was actually debating this, i would rather be the sole owner, but I do have a friend who was willing to put down k and a rental property for collateral…

Okay before you make a smart ass comment, yes I know money is #1 in starting any type of business. I just don’t know how much money is needed or anything else like do I need a title or something? It’s going to be a small bistro type restaurant. I already have a few people willing to work for me doing anything from cooking to serving. Is there like a store or maybe a catalog that sells equipment utensils and furniture for restaurants?

A man walks into a bar one night. He goes up to the bar and asks for a beer. "Certainly, sir, that’ll be 1 cent."
"One penny?!"exclaimed the guy.
The barman replied, " yes"
So, the guy glances over at the menu, and he asks, "Could I have a nice juicy T-bone steak, with fries, peas, and a salad?"
"Certainly sir," replies the bartender, "but all that comes to real money."
"How much money?" inquires the guy.
"Four cents," he replies.
"Four cents?!" exclaims the guy, "Where’s the guy who owns this place?"
The barman replies, " Upstairs with my wife."
The guy says, "What’s he doing with your wife?"
The bartender replies, "Same as what I’m doing to his business."

i watch these shows occasionally and i am amazed by how much money must have been spent renovating and doing an " extreme make over" for the participant’s home. now, who pays for all of those (the big screen tvs, furnitures, kitchen stuff, home reconstruction, etc)? does the participant pay anything or were the stuff just lent by the producers of these shows?

I ran out of ALL of my cleaning products. How much do you think it will cost to restock my cubboards? laundry detergent, laundry softener, bathroom cleaners, kitchen cleaners, living room cleaners, furniture polishes, window and mirror cleaners ect…
I don’t like off brand products cause they don’t work as well!
So how much money do you think I will need to take to the store?
My husband is asking how much I will need but I don’t know. he usually does the shopping and has been too busy to do it!

I am thinking about opening up a hookah bar in the san antonio, TX area. how much capital would I need to raise to do something like this? I would need how much rent for a part of a commercial business complex? How much money for licensing and all the rest? furniture, interior design etc? thanks
