We moved into this Farmhouse and learned after only 1 months ,that we had a lot of mice also living in there! I talked to the Landlord and he said to just get mouse trapps!
The problem seems out of controll though and mousetrapps or poison isn’t getting rid of them!
They are everywhere,in our childrens rooms, closets, the kitchen drawers, even my underwear drawer!!
Is the Landlord responsible for Damage the mice do to our belongings? They are chewing on our wooden furniture too!

What color walls for brown carpet?

We are currently renting a house and before moving in the landlord put rich brown carpet in the bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. The walls are currently white but we are allowed to paint. I am not sure if we want an accent color and leave the walls the way they are–or change some wall color. I am wanting the house to all have the same theme/feel but I want all the rooms to be different. I am going for a more modern appeal. We are looking to buy different furniture as well but not sure what colors to lean towards. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Should i leave the home?

My hubby and i have been on the rocks and things finally exploded. We always had a roller coaster relationship and i did something stupid when my hubby called off the wedding 2 months before it scheduled.
In all honesty i was enraged when he told me we were over in front of my entire family over arguments on wedding decour and was not thinking when i chose to jump into a fling with my ex.bf from HS.Well after 4 weeks my hubby came back to me .. we made up and got married 2 weeks later unaware i was pregnant. When i found out i was preganant i was 12 weeks along and did not have the heart to have a abortion after hearing the heart beat. So i informed my hubby who was already aware of the fling that took place during our breakup..he himself had a 3 one-night stands with this one girl from a bar …what was going on.He told me we would get through this and we would work it out but things started rapidly going bad no matter what i did or how i tried.I came home after spending the weekend at my cousins to a wrecked house. The kitchen cabinents had been removed from the wall, stainless steel appliances all are missing, basically all furniture is gone, he left our dogs outside without food/water,most of my personal things were thrown in the backyard and it rained!
We have house bills and credit card bills that have just come in that i have no way to pay.I have been on/off bed rest and cant be on my feet for more than 2 hours so i have not been working. We are renting a town house and yes i am on the lease as is he.I had a police report filed but i am really worried that i could be billed for some of the damages or that my hubby could come back?My landlord has not communicated with me since he saw the damages himself, spoke to the neighbors who apparently saw my husband moving appliances out of the house and spoke with the police officer whom i filed a report with so i feel in the dark?Could i be evicted even before my lease is up late november?

I am 21 yrs old still a college student no current job but i am working on it and my hubby is a 25 yr old computer programmer so i cant afford the 1600 dollars a month in rent.My cousin and my aunt are helping me out because my parents are abroad for there 25 th anniversary .
Baby is due december 31 and is the ex.bf’s child according to my doctor.

We are on rental contract with landlord. Roommate is only mentioned as name and age of other persons living in household. We only have verbal agreement with him that he pay 1/2 of rent/month, 1/3 of electric. We helped him out and covered his first month of rent. He has his own bedroom, use of washer, dryer, kitchen, etc. I assumed he would be responsible enough to help buy food or give so much towards food or just have courtesy to say he appreciates our help feeding him and will help best he can. But no. He hasn’t bought more than in 6 mths. All the furniture in his room was ours except computer desk, computer, TV and clothes. He won’t help with house cleaning, does dishes only when every dish and silverware is dirty and I bitch at him. He hasn’t caught up. Behind by month’s rent, the electric and is not being a team member at all. If I want to tell him to go, what steps should I take to properly evict him? There are no written contracts between us. Live in Oregon.

Move and leave old furniture in the apt?

Hi all, I will be moving at the end of the month to a small room so I will not take some furniture like wardrobe, kitchen table, old couch. I’m not selling them because they are way too old. What can happen if I leave it in my apartment? (I’m too lazy to take it out, 3 floors up, no elevator). The current lease is under someone’s else name and the person moved to another city a few years ago. I’m not a big "friend" of the landlord. He does not have my new cell number and I will not forward my mail to my new residence because I’m afraid that USPS will forget to forward some mail and it will go to my old address with a sticker with the new address. I have already updated all my bills to go to the new address.

Is it illegal to leave old furniture behind? Can the landlord chase me?

Thanks!

Frozen water pipes, maybe?

I just moved to a new area, and the temperature has be lower than 15 degrees for the last 48 hours or more. In my bathroom, the cold water works when you turn it on, but not the hot. The stool will flush too. In the kitchen, no water works at all. Are my pipes frozen? Is my landlord obligated (legally) to fix the problem, and make sure it doesn’t happen again?
and i can move the water heater, so to me that means there isn’t water inside
the water is defiantly turned on, I had it on a week before I moved in, I’ve used the hot water since

I just moved into my first place and my landlord won’t let me paint. The cabinets in the baths and kitchen are a golden brown stain and the is that pink/light brown color that a lot of houses (that I’ve been in) have. I also need help with what color towels, shower curtain, etc. works well with the above bath furnishings and is the current trend that all the rooms in your house match or can I use different colors in different rooms.

My wall in one bedroom and livingroom is beige pink. my window are large. Also, what color furniture should I buy to offset the brown carpet. Do you have any suggestion what is the best color to paint or remove the door to my kitchen cabinet which happen to be brown to. Oh ya, I live in an apartment. But the landlord say I can do whatever.

landlord did not disclose smoker lived in home. stated that previous tenant only had furniture that smelled like smoke so the smell will go away. It smells like stale smoke in a bar that no longer allows you to smoke. can’t live like this…

night taters…..Mr Unemployed is gonna share his check with the landlord..
