I have a computer chair that got a little wet. Now there are some spots on the cover which I suspect is mold. (I can’t use bleach as it’s a colored cover).
Preferably using products such as detergent, vinegar etc. and not having to buy those expensive furniture cleaners.

I really prefer not to use bleach. Does anyone have a non-bleach method of getting mold off patio cushions? They are vinyl, not fabric. Thanks.
If mold doesn’t grow outside, then I guess I’m asking for help removing whatever moldy-looking green substance is covering my lawn furniture.

We are cleaning our back porch today, and I need to know what is a good product to use after cleaning to keep from having to do this again. Is there something we can use to keep mildew and black looking mold from accuring again? It’s natural wood with no stain on it. Pine as a matter of fact. We dont wish to change the color of the wood either. Something clear that would seal.

I have an old wicker chair that is in great shape. The only problem is that on one of the sides is covered in mold.

The covers are removable & are washable, what about the cushions. A couple of look like they have mold from moisture. Are they just trash?

from my green plastic patio furniture? I don’t want to buy new chairs as yet. Thanks in advance.
It’s not mold or mildew…it’s oxidizing.

We are thinking of getting new deck furniture, and I love the comfort of the ones where the chairs have thick padded pillows for the seats and the back. Do the pillows have to be brought inside when it rains? I am concerned about mold developing in them if I leave them outside. What’s your experience with them?

starting at birth i’m the youngest of 3 and i was also the "mistake" child my siblings are 14 and 10 years older than me my dad smoked and drunk and was 49 when i was born and my mom was 33
3 years old is as far back as i can remember first of all i lived in the same house from birth all the way to 13 and it was a last minute whim because they had to move for more space for me and they had a really nice place and the day before they moved the landlord made my dad give the keys back because he heard around the neighbor hood my dad was a drug dealer but that was his best friend not him so my dad’s friend fixed a house up in two weeks the house had no installation in the walls was bug infested had mold all over it one outlet in each room and was very unhealthy and to top if off my dad smoked in the house so the walls where tinted yellow my dad slept on the couch i shared a room with my mom until i was six because we only had 3 small bedrooms and when my sister moved out my mom took her room my brother got the biggest room and i was stuffed in the smallest corner room i remember eating peanut butter and jelly and kool aid for lunch every day until i was about 5 or 6 when i was 7 and 8 my parents where always at work so i had to tag around with my brother who would play basket ball at the park with his friend till like 10 o clock and always told me i was to little to play then when i was 5-7 my mom was in and out of the hospital and my dad raised us in that time and he was an acholac so when we were waking up for school he was just getting home from the bar when i was 7 my dad told my mom that he didn’t want us talking to my sister any more becuase her new boyfriend was a recoved fellon and he heard alot of rumors about him (he was really a nice guy) so my mom would take me and we would have to sneek around to see her and my dad had his friends all around the neigbor hood watching and he heard that he moved in with her so he made my mom walk with him one time at like midnight to see if his car was there and another time i went with him and he told me we were going out to get breakfast then my dad later died when i was 9 and my brother was pissed and him and my mom fought almost every day and she kicked him out one night and the cops brung him home and my mom told them he wasn’t wlecomed here so he had to go to my sisters for the night then when he was 20 our mom got a boyfriend and when my brother was 21 she kicked him out so her boyfriend could move in and my brother had to go to my aunts and i was moved out the big room to the corner room again but now it was smaller because my brother had his stuff in the closet and i didnt even have a dresser i just had a shelf with my clothes on it and i was always finding bug in my room we also lived in a high crime neigbor hood and i remember we use to put plastic over our windows that where cracked and repared with duck tape even thow i didnt care i never got a gift i wanted or a card or any thing and my parents couldn’t even afford coats for us and we never had a matching furniture set or cable and almost every thing in our house was from off the curb and i was offen bored because even though i had older siblings they where gone and why would they want to play with some one so much youger

I can’t Stand going into the house. Every time I do visit the daughter complains of being hungry and there is only dirty nasty food in the Kitchen so I end up taking her out. This family is a Nice family but has fallen on hard times. But I breaks my heart seeing the condition that the family lives in. I have invited them to my house for dinner but they cannot afford the gas to drive 20 miles. I have gotten the Daughter clothing and things she needs. My husband and I just bought our first house, Its is small but very clean and cozy. We have invited Jr and his Sister to stay with us but because of work and school it’s just too far.
My husband was only 12 when he met the family and things were different then.
I really want to help them but I don’t see how else I can. What Do I do?
I am only 22 and adopted myself from a similar situation. I am not sure how far helping will go.

If you choose starving artist, you can live in camgrounds and hitch trains across the world and paint and sing and dance and cry and love life and eat sunflower seeds and dye your hair green, make music, just you will have to work a lot of shifts and volunteer everywhere.
If you choose wealthy corporate consultant. There are rules. You must report to work in the company office Monday-Friday, 7AM to 9pm. You will be very busy, you must wear a leather jacket and have a fine brief case. You must act professional. You must be clean cut or your clients will notice, and if you slack off you will be out the door.
You will earn ,000/year, you will be playing catch-up on almost every weekend including week days. And in spare time you will have to invest social time to colleagues, which means you will have to buy them drinks at bars…..we’re talking 0 dollars worth of drinks. To fit the mold, you will need to live near the office, and your home will be visited by clients and must appeal to the corporate culture as well. It will be a king-size bed however, expensive furniture, fine linens.
Which do you choose? The Starving Artist or Wealthy Corporate Consultant?
In this exceptional scenario, I will add another rule to Wealthy Corporate Consultant.
if you are an EX-Wealthy Corporate Consultant (who slacks and gets laid off), you can NEVER become Starving Artist….the rule is you become overqualified for every job thereafter that the starving artist can use to work shift

I’m having the living room carpets replaced. And I’ll clean the kitchen floor. Those are the only 2 rooms that flooded. I’ll throw away damaged belongings, furniture. But do things that didn’t even get wet have to be disinfected too?
I knew a family whose *basement* flooded, but somewhere mold grew on their dishes UPSTAIRS. My flood was nowhere near as bad and the water receeded quickly but still…?
What should I do to make sure it’s clean and disinfected here?
