Recently, actually about 5 years ago, my 20 year old son ripped out our sagging deck. Unfortunately, he never finished the job. Now we have a square section of small gardening stones. It looks horrible. My husband refuses to do anything about it because money is kinda tight. If you have any suggestions, or any ideas of where we could find cheap patio furniture ( like a chaise? ) that would be great!
- Thanks in advance

My husband and I make a very good income (95K per year ). We live in a modest home with mortgage payments under 0.00/month. We drive cars that are 3-10 years old. We buy our clothing on sale (rarely). We eat out at a restaurant 2Xmonth or less. So you get the idea that we are not extravagant in our lifestyle. Yet we seem to be struggling to make ends meet each month! Our 4 kids are raised and rarely need any financial help. (We help our son who is in law school occasionally) I am truly surprised (disappointed) that it continues to be so difficult to save any money or to do any extras such as travel, buy furniture etc. We just get by! We are comfortable, but still have no extra and sometimes find ourselves out of money before payday. What can we do to cut out some of our spending? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Seriously. I was taking my spring/summer patio furniture out of storage the other day and I noticed my bench was still icy from the cold winter. I heard Stafford was great at warming benches and since he is currently out of work I figure he could use the money.

I’ve recently taken management of a privately owned bar, very contemporary, state of the art sound system, good food, nice staff and nice restaurant on the floor upstairs. Unfortunately, the previous management was useless and did nothing since the place opened a year ago, and it has no customers. I’m not kidding, I have never seen, in my two weeks there, more customers in there than staff. So far I’m introducing a cocktail menu, based on my previous experience, re-arranged the furniture and aesthetics in the place, re-organised the menu and wine list. I have a new pro flyer and eflyer made up, including details of a 2 for 1 cocktail deal that i intend to run for the first couple of weeks. On top of that, I am contacting friends of mine that are high up in the neighbouring offices and doing a special promo card for them.
Money is very tight though, so my question is whether anyone has any other ideas that would increase footfall?
Seriously, ANY ideas would be grately appreciated.

So me and a friend were operating concessions at a church event, and a lot of money was made. So we were thinking if we started a concession stand in the local area, would we make good profit? We have a grill, snow cone machine, popcorn maker, cooler for drinks like in a store, and we were thinking of selling candy too. We have a canopy tent, and tables too. Could we make alot of money from this for our own profit? do we need anything else to get started?

My room is painted a lovely bright blue- alice blue and has medium hardwood floors. It is a mediumish sized room, with two windows and a large closet. My bedding is blue and brown with polka dots, but my walls are bare. I want to change my furniture but save money- maybe refresh it. Painting it wont do though, none of the pieces of furniture match and my bed is my bed from when i was little, so it has high bars at the ends. Any ideas on furniture or decor?

I just moved in a new place and I’m trying to create a modern design in every single space which is what i always wanted.
Now that I have the money to do so I bought many great products and spent a lot of time choosing colors and styles.
I finally arrived to the kitchen in which I have some extra space so I thought about creating a bar space for morning breakfasts with family or to have few drinks when friends are passing by.
That being said, I need to choose a bar table and some bar stools matching it.
Since I am focused on Modern Designs I went on a website name FineBarStools (http://www.finebarstools.com) which offers a pretty awesome collection of modern furniture.
About the Bar Table, I am actually hesitating between 2 of them :
- The Chardonnay Table which is a hit but seems to be have a top a little small for breakfasts (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-621111-Chardonnay-Bar-Table_1097388492.html)
- The Lemon Drop Counter Table which is a little shorter but has a bigger top (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-601102-Lemon-Drop-Counter-Table_1097388490.html)
My concern is one of them really has a bar style and the other is in between dining and bar.
Which one would provide me the coolest style at home?
About the Bar Stools, it’s even worse because to many choices are offer in there …
- Barber Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-300160-Barber-Bar-Stool_1097599232.html) : This stool only offers one color (white which will match the colors choose for my bar … black, white, red) but this bar stool seems strong and easy to clean. It’s also a swivel one with a back.
- Butcher Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-300280-Butcher-Bar-Stool_1097599277.html) : This one has a great look but it’s a backless bar stool …
- Topsy Bar Stool (http://www.finebarstools.com/store-products-301301-Topsy-Bar-Stool_1097388483.html) : Bar stool with a back, available in black but in leather (so a little harder to clean than the Barber bar stool). However I truly love the design of it.
Should I focus only on the design, should I get backless bar stools to gain space ?
Is the white color a real bad choice since it’s showing dirt easily ?
Haaaaaa !!!!!!!
If I spend more time thinking about that I’m quite sure to get bold before to be 30 years old so I’m looking for advices from people who already created their own bar and made mistakes.
I desperate right ’cause I just can’t take a decision so tell me what’s your thoughts and I hope it will help me make up my mind !!

I am going to be re-decorating my kitchen, but not sure what I want to do. I thought about doing a shabby chic look, but I have ran into a problem. My floors are sort of tuscany-ish looking. I live in an apartment, so I can’t really re-do the floors, not that I would want to spend the money on them anyway. My counters/cabinets and appliances are white. Any suggestions?

I need some inexpensive ideas of different types of food to serve at a buffet style wedding reception. The wedding is at the end of April. I am having the reception in a historic rustic barn. There are about 65 guests. I feel with such a small number of people, to get a caterer is spending more money than we have to. The reception begins at 5:30 pm. We can not have any candles or sterno type things due to fire codes and this barn is solid wood. Serious answers please, and thank you.

my leasing ended on march/2008 i never had any problem with the people who was running the restaurant but, they decided to do the same thing after 6 months and they sold the business on feb/2007, they ask me if they would do this and I say ok but they should still paying me the rent cause I had the commitment with the landlord and I was responsible to pay the rents so they always paid me until my leasing finished, But my guarantee was the restaurant equipment. The "new owners went into a new leasing for 5 years and it supposed they should pay me the property taxes for the furniture and equipment of 2008. But when I was paying my property taxes online I decided to check if this account correspondent to the business still under my name, unfortunateley it is and not only that, these people never paid the taxes so I did it and now they don’t want to pay me that money. What can I do if I never signed anything with them. The people who did the agreement were my buyers and now they are trying to collect this money for me but he second tenants just moved out from hte space in the middle of the night and they took out all the furniture and equipment. I have found them but it supposed that my buyers must go and ask them to pay me the money since they were the ones who sold the business and they signed the contract with this people.
What can I do?
Thank you for any help
By the way I live in San Antonio Texas.

the time, but she was looking for work. Thing were going good for awhile, The we started to have problems. To make along story short, we had a big blow out fight. She slapped me then I threw her at a recliner chair. She hit the arm of the chair forehead first. That was the last we were together. I started going to theripy for my anger. Then we ran into each other one night at a bar. I was withsomeone else, but she wasnt any thing serious. My ex and I started to argue, I said some thing I didnt mean that were realy awefull, she slapped me and naturally, me haveing a few in me, I slapped her back. The police were called and I went to jail. I still love her vary much, and, we were really good together. We did have problem that were basicly caused by my feelling of being overwhelmed because of money. I all ways tried to give her the best I possibly could. I know that what I did was realy horrible. I miss her badly, but after what I did I cant face her. Im still in theripy because of it.
My question is, What do I do now, Ive really done some thing I never thought I could do to a women. I love her more then any thing. She completed me, she was my bestfriend. I can forgive myself, so should I just move on or try to find a way to talk to her in time. Yes I know what I did was something no man should do to a women, trust me I feel like the fires in HELL have already consumed me. So I dont need any one telling me how EIVL I am. Ineed some really good genuine advice as to how to deal with my emptyness, that I feel, and to know if mybe she will ever talk to me again, or even feel the way she once did about me.

I became the owner of a bar. I was in the bar area, checking out all the beers and wondering if any of them were still good which were on tap. I was running some of the taps to see the color of the beer and noticed that it was all warm. I looked underneath the counter and seen that there was some liquor under there but a lot of the bottles were almost used up. I began to take inventory. I wondered how I would know what I all need. Some guy who was a regular at the bar with the previous owners came in and sat down, I said I don’t have anything ready yet, he said that was ok he just wanted to help me set up. He went to the basement to check on the inventory and status of the kegs because I was afraid to go into the basement. I preceded to walk around the building to see what the rest of the place looked like, I was walking down a long hall and on the walls were brown and orange wall paper like from the 70’s, I envisioned how I would change the color to brighten up the place, there was beautiful hardwood floor and I thought well I would keep that it would just need to be cleaned and buffed a bit. I thought that I could use this whole area outside of the bar for banquets and bands. I wondered where I would get all the money to renovate, and I then wondered where I even got the money to acquire this bar or did it just fall into my lap? I then noticed a figure sitting in a chair, I went over to it, I couldn’t focus my eyes, but it was a ghost or something, I then looked outside and seen my kids out playing, Blake was a bit far away, and I was worried about him, all of a sudden there was bombs exploding in the area he was at, he and Andrew came running back to me, they were crying, I said its ok you can forget about this, he said how can I when I seen families flying up in the air, he had a burn mark on his cheek, then I woke up

I’ve got a wide array of associates/friends, from big money white collar professionals down to hooligans on probation. I just try to not judge people and treat everyone the same until they cross me.
Well, I was out last night and ran into an associate and someone I consider to be pretty cool…but she’s a hooligan. Loves to fight (because she can) and just invites drama. So, she’s doing massive shots (like, it should have been 3 shots but it was all poured into one glass and she downed them like water) all night to impress some young guy she wanted. Liquid confidence, I guess. He was disgusted, btw. So, now she’s completely hammered and now i’m the babysitter…again. She’s now trying to shove her face in my chest, i’m pushing her off…now we’re in a pretty heated shoving match. She’s a bully, but i’m not afraid of her and I wasn’t just going to let her push me around. So, now she’s pissed that i’m not letting her punk me so she starts knocking over chairs, hitting the video game machine…now she’s getting put out. I see her at the door trying to fight the guy that put her out, so I go over to try to get her outside to drive her home…she cracks the guy square in the face. So, now i’m dragging her outside, she’s balling saying don’t touch her, can barely stand, pounding her hands against the window of the bar…now the cops show up. Mind you, I had a couple drinks so when they knocked on my window, I had to unlock it. They told her to get out and that was that. I left.
Now, I’m wondering if I should just cut her out of my life. I always feel like I want to help people…be a good influence, but i’m wondering is this a lost cause.
Have you ever went through something similar?
