How do you remove 5 star base on an office chair?

The 5 spoke base on an office chair that holds the wheels… I have 2 office chairs one with a good one and one that’s broke and I’d like to swap them.

How do I stop my office chair from tilting back?

My older office chair suddenly tilts back to far. There is no problem with the tension adjustment that I can see. I dont care about jamming something in it, but as silly as it seems, I cant see the point where the chair seems to tilt back. Could it suddenly be the entire chair just giving out and each point of tension is giving out just enough to cause the tilt when i sit in it?

Is it possible for my cats to ruin my new (from Craigslist, therefore new to ME) Aeron chair? Please do not answer if you do not own an authentic Herman Miller Aeron Chair.
The Herman Miller (furniture company)’s Aeron chair is the top of the line office chair, more popular than any other in history. It is an award winning design and is displayed in the Museum of Modern Art’s Industrial Design department. It is the single most famous office chair in the history of the universe. Do your homework!

What do you use to clean a leather office chair?

I have had a leather office chair for 4 years now. It’s not visibly dirty but it stinks. Im not a dirty guy, but I work as a film editor, so I can sit in the chair for up to 16 hours somedays, so obviously all that back and ass sweat has gone into the cushions. It’s gotten to the point where I have to cover it with bin bags so my clothes dont smell.

I’ve tried leather wipes but its not the surface, I think its the stuffing in the cushion.

Any suggestions?

Most furniture these days is contaminated with various carcinogenic and neurotoxic chemicals, that abrade off into the air we breathe everytime we interact with them. I am searching for an office chair with little or no chemicals. At a reasonable price, what would the best kind to purchase, that I could find locally at an office or furniture store?

I have an office chair where 2 of the 5 wheels are broken and do not turn easily, but i still want to keep the chair. Other than replacing the wheels, how would i get it to slide easily on a hardwood floor without scratching it up, and still be able to move around while sitting in it? I’ve tried putting a rug underneath it, but that did not help much. I also tried using some carpet-bottomed casters, but that made it worse. I’ve heard of using tennis balls over the wheels, but I think the wheels are too big for that.

We use to have one in front of the fireplace so that we could feel the heat..
Here’s the description.
Exactly like an office chair for your computer but without wheels!
and instead of just leaning back it reclines.
but we can deal without the recline.
I’ve searched everywhere!
pleaseee help!

I’m reupholstering the backrest an office chair back but I can’t remove the back plastic cover. I can see that the cover has four posts that look to snap or push fit into mating holes. I tried using pry bars and screwdrivers to force them apart without any luck. Any more force will certainly crack the cover. The part that the upholstery is stapled to and that the back cover also snaps into to is made of plastic. If I were to cut the fabric off and remove the foam pad would the holes that the posts push into be visible? I’m thinking if that’s the case I might be able to drive the posts out with a punch.
Solved- The back has expanding split barb fitting that pass thru holes in the other panel. You can actually feel them move behind the foam. Pinching the two barbs together by hand right thru the foam works but it easiest to cut the old fabric and pull back the foam for access. My barbed fittings were held on with screws which could be unscrewed once the foam was pulled back.

Furniture-less in an unfurnished home. Help!?

I just moved into a 3-bdrm place until school starts (September). The place is unfurnished. Other than a fold up plastic desk, office chair, and minimal kitchen supplies I have nothing else. I’m collecting cardboard boxes for clothes (I have hangers for the closet, but boxes for everything else). I currently have in my bank account to cover groceries and furniture until the next payday (check comes on Friday, the bank’s hold on it will be released by the Tuesday afterwords)

What’s the best way to spend my money? I figure I’ll need at least – for food, because my fridge is almost empty.

I really need something to sleep on… is there anything I can do to make the floor/sleeping bag situation more comfortable?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me or, even better, tell me a link which shows how the piston on a office chair adjusts the height? I need this for my product design school course.
Thanks.

Where can i get a nice white office chair from?

All my office is in maple and white, i need a new office chair and cant seem to find a nice office chair in white or a maple wood imitation… do you know where i can get one from?

I got my new office chair recently and my wheels are already stock with hair from my pets. I tried by fulling the hair one by one ,but it very difficult.
Is there any way this can be done with some chemical or can you recommend easier way to do it?
As many of the office chairs, mine is also plastic ( the wheels).

How do you deoderize a leather office chair?

My leather office chair has acquired a musty odor from being used and abused this summer and i would like to freshen the chair up a bit. Are there any commercial products out there similiar to febreze that can freshen up leather?

Can you spray paint a computer chair?

I have a very simple computer chair–not a fancy office chair or anything. I was was wondering if I could spray paint the black plastic frame of the chair with a gold metallic spray. I would cover the fabric so it doesn’t get paint on it. Would the paint stick? Would it flake off? Do I need a primer? Thanks!
