Is the dent in the back of my head a problem?
I know there are several more "I have a dent in my head" questions here, but this one is a bit different. My bed has a round, metal "headboard" of sorts at the head. I have recently, without realizing until I move, spent lots of time resting my head on the metal headrest. It USED to put a kink in my neck, but recently hasn’t been causing me neck pain. That was in itself several months ago.
Just earlier this evening, as I got up from yet again unconsciously spending several hours with my head against this round metal bar, I felt a dent in the back of my skull exactly where my head laid against the pole, curved, in the top back of my head. I had to lay back on it a few times without moving my lower body to convince myself that the curve in my skull was exactly where the pole was.
Now all of a sudden I’m sick to my stomach over the idea that I may have caused myself some sort of damage. I don’t even know for sure if laying there is what caused it, though I’ve spent a lot of time on that metal piece of furniture and the impression fits perfectly.
AT ANY RATE, whether or not the dent on the back of my head is caused by this pole, is it possible that by laying someone’s skull on a hard surface for hours at a time, over the course of several months, they can cause a negative impact on their brain?
