My puppy has been having darker stools lately. His stool isn’t black but it’s a dark brown color and his poop is of a smaller amount then before. There are no traces of bloods or worms. He’s eating fine, drinking water regularly, and as active as can be – basically, he seems normal. Also, he goes to the bathroom less.
I switched him over to Innova Puppy. And yesterday, he jumped onto the counter and ate half a can of Spam. The stool was already dark before this incident though. (My mom feeds his table scraps occasionally. She promised she’s going to stop though.)
I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow. So my question is, how dark does a puppy’s stool have to be to be unhealthy?
His is a little lighter then the color of dark coffee, and around the color of brown coffee. I’m not sure if that makes sense so..
http://i35.tinypic.com/2ebbole.jpg
His stool is similar to that color.
Since the picture is in the corner, my computer views it as black until I move myself to look at it directly. So I’m just saying, his stool isn’t black.
The stool is usually solid and at the end, it gets a little soft. Usually they’re in two pieces. No I cannot see any undigested food pieces. His butt seems fine and not irritated. He goes very easily. And Innova isn’t a dark colored food.

Our neighbors behind us are nice people. My only issue is they have a bird feeder and while they enjoy the birds eating in their feeder, when they finish the birds come and hang out in my yard. Think Alfred Hitchcock "Birds". This has lead to an increase of bird poo. While right now it’s not an issue (it’s winter) in the summer it is. Our deck, patio furniture, pool ledge..EVERYTHING is covered in poop. You can’t touch anything without there being poop on it. You know it’s bad when the dog refuses to go in his caged area to potty bc there is massive amounts of bird poo in there. We literally have to hose everything down on a daily basis. My question is, is there anyway to repel the birds from our yard? Kind of how scarecrows keep crows out of corn fields and there’s stuff you spray on plants to keep bunnies out of your garden. I don’t want to kill them or harm them in anyway and I realize that I will never get rid of EVERY bird or all the poo. Id just like to see a good reduction of it

Ok let me start with i have a vet app tomorrow at 8 in the morning.. I just got my puppy like a week ago he was 8 weeks when i got him, he has had all of his shots and has been de-wormed.. Tonight i noticed that there was blood in his stool when he pooped on my kitchen floor (not potty trained yet). it was like he pooped and then as an after thought pushed again and it was blood. The poop was soft in consistency and the blood seemed a little watery to me.. So as soon as i cleaned it up and got a better look at it i called a 24 hr vet and they were not of much help. She told me to make an app for in the morn and he should be fine but as i was talking to her he pooped again and it was all blood not very much just a few drops but still blood i told the lady on the phone and she still did not seem worried.. So i made my app for the morn but im still panicking.. He seems fine, he’s still eating and drinking and is as playful as ever. Im just wondering what it could be? I haven’t had a dog since i was a little girl so i don’t know much about puppy’s.. So im just worried i love my puppy and don’t want anything to happen to him..

There are these little spots that look like blackheads all over my patio furniture. They are so hard to clean but this can be accomplished by picking them off one by one. Any suggestions as to what they are and and easier way to clean my white plastic furniture? I’m wondering if they are bug poop or something.

My puppy finished his perscription for coccidia medication a few days ago. His stool was getting firmer on the medication, but once it ran out, his poop got looser again. I took in a stool and urine sample to the vet because there was mucus in the stool, and she analyzed it and didn’t find anything. He was dewormed two weeks ago, and tomorrow will have another deworming pill, so I don’t think it’s worms. He has eaten a bit of grass and his food and water today, but nothing else as far as I know. I watch him like a hawk outside.
Anyways, just now he went into the kitchen and pooped, then under the kitchen table and pooped, and then into the living room and pooped, and then into his roomand pooped. It got looser and looser, with the last being a bit liquid-ey. He usually indicates he needs to go out by standing by the door, but this time he didnt do it.
I plan to take him to the vet tomorrow, but does anyone have any other advice? I am really worried about him.
To clarify, I am not worried about the behaviour of pooping inside, since he has been learning well since we got him. What I am concerned about is his health.

I have a 4 month old chihuahua puppy and I’ve had her for 1 month, with no issues. We only feed her Purina puppy chow, no human food. We noticed that sometimes after she pooped she would try to eat it, but if we yelled no she would stop and run back into the house. She sleeps with us every night with no problems, we just get up after like 5 hours to take her potty. And sometimes she starts walking around the edge of the bed before then, so we know she has to go outside. But last night, she actually jumped off the bed while we were sleeping and went to the kitchen and pooped (which I didn’t find until later) and I woke up when she came back to the room, but thought she had just jumped down and needed to go potty so I took her outside and she peed. Then I brought her back to bed and woke up later to find that she threw up dog poop in our bed. At least I think that’s what happened, I guess it could have been diarrhea, but there were chunks of dog food, like it was puke. I put her outside again and gave her some water and then put her in her crate for the night. She hadn’t thrown up anymore when I got up but she had runny stool today, but not too often. I put her in crate tonight when I left the house and when I came back later her kennel was a mess. It looked she pooped and then ate some of it and threw it up and it was everywhere. She was covered in it
She’s been acting totally fine and has never pooped in her crate. She had pooped right before I left and I was only gone a couple of hours and her poop was solid. What is going on? Please help!
And yes, I’m happy to take her to the vet, but she doesn’t seem sick enough to warrant a trip to the emergency vet; I’m just looking for some ideas. Thanks

I have 3 cats and a dog all males I also have a 4 year old little girl.
My oldest cat is somewhere around 14 or so years old he was a stray we took in 10 years ago.
We are having a hard time with this and I will list the reasons why I think he should be put to sleep I made an apt. 2 weeks ago and cancelled last minute because I just couldnt do it.
Ok for starters
1.For about 5 years now he has had alot of itching on his head we have tried everything the vet can think of and nothing helps it is to the point now when he scratches his head he yelps in pain and you can tell it is itchy alot, poor thing
2.For the past year when he goes to the bathroom he has bright red blood in his stool and ALL of his poop is very runny which I am sure is not very comfortable, the vet said stress I had him cjecked a few times.
3.My dog and him used to be best friends they have been together from the start for the past 2 years everytime my cat is even in his sight my dog attacks him and sometimes to the point my dog will have fur in his mouth and my dog guards the kitchen so the cat cant get into the basement, not sure what is going on there really weird the change all of a sudden, maybe the dog senses the cat is sick, not sure? nothing has changed as har as alpha animal would be concerned.
4. for the past year the cat has been missing the litter box it started he would get right next to it and now it is wherever he wants to go and again it is the bloody slimy stuff which is VERY unsanitary to my family, my daughter is old enough to yell out MOMMY yuck come here quick but this is 2-3 times a day I think I am being very patient alot of people would have put there animal down along ago for this reason.
I have tried differnt cat foods, the vet said try a fiber diet etc… no help.
5. The cat has been throwing up for awhile now for awhile it was just once in awhile and it would be his catfood right after he ate and now it is at least once a day and it looks just like slimy poop, I notice he has lost some weight lately.
6. A big problem and with me probably the straw that broke the camels back is he has been peeing on things, on my husbands shirts, on my daughters blankets, on my shoes etc… I wasnt sure which cat was doing it and tonight we were watching tv and my daughter had a blanket on the floor and the cat comes up paws at the blanket my husband was about the yell at him and I said no let him do what he is going to do I want to see that he is actually doing it and sure enough he peed all over it right in front of us and it had nothing to do with he was too old or not able to make it to the litter boxes he just sat there and did it, I was mad!!!!! The worst smell in the world is cat pee especially from a male and I have thrown away ALOT of things some that I love because I refuse to have that smell in the house I dont care how much or how hard you clean it, it still smells and I dont know if you have ever smelled someone that smells like cats but it is gross and I will not be one of those people!!
7. All this poor cat wants to do is go outside and eat grass and lay in the sun and we wont let him out we dont want him to get hit by a car and there is a couple of stray cats across the street, my other cat got out (long story) a few weeks ago and one of the cats beat the crap out of my 18 pound strong cat so I dont want to chance anything.
So I guess by me just writing all of this has helped to make up my mind but the reason why I am having a hard time is
1. My daughter just loves this cat she loves all animals but this cat she just loves she can pick him up carry him around (gently) he sleeps on her lap he rubs up against her he just loves her too, the other too cats she likes too the one likes her ok and the one is scared but this one just adores her.
2. He still has a good appetite and still drinks water fine
3. He still gets playful at times like a little kitten his eyes get all big and he will chase after a bug or a toy.
4. He jumps around like crazy like nothing in the world hurts him.
and 5 he is just a very very nice sweet cat! the best cat I have ever had a nice little lap cat that isnt too buggy and still needs lots of love!
Soooo there is my whole story and I hope someone has the time to read all of this and not judge me but maybe give me some advice I really need it!
Thanks,
Connie
There is one option at the moment, my parents are moving from another state closer to where we live and my m om just loves this cat and she told me to wait on what I do and when they move which will be in a month or so that they might take the cat (have to work on my dad he says no) but the thing would be he would be an outside cat there, they have 2 cats and they are inside/outside cats and this new house has a barn type thing he would live in with a couple acres of land in the middle of nowhere which would be fine now but what happens when it gets cold? I know my mom and she would let him in if it got too cold but with the blood poop trails and the pee that wouldnt last long in there NEW house. I have taken him to a couple vets and they pretty much tell me the same thing about the blood and the itching I have changed his diet and done cortisone shots etc.
As far as my dog he is not aggresive what so ever that is what is so weird he one day just started going after this cat.
thanks

I have tried so many different things..Forbids from the vet.Deter brand, petco brand, excel brand from the petstore.. I even added in pineapple crush into the food.Or added a bit of wasabi into the stool and let her find it.
I dont keep her inside the crate.I used a safety gate to keep her in a hardwood floor place next to our kitchen. She is papertrained. Everytime when she ate,we would stay there till she pooped and clean it away but there got to be times when we are not able to stare at her.
Like night time and when we have to run errand.
I dont know what to do with her anymore cos there is no way to get her to stop doing that.
she is checked for worm and there is no parasite in his stool check just last week.
I put her on eukanuba lamb and rice and she had diahhrea and was eating her poop,I changed to natural variety prairie and she also got diahhre and also eating her poop.
Now I switched back to evlove puppy and her stool is solid but she is still eating her poop.
And I was checking the dog food ranking site.It says evolve contain filler and adding stress to their liver and kidney. But this is the only food that her stool is solid..

We recently moved to a new state about 2 weeks ago. Earlier in the week on 2 different mornings I found that my cat had pooped on the floor. (since we moved here the cat has been rolling around in those spots if I’m in the room and he’s in there with me) the stool was very dark, almost black in color and wasn’t in the ‘shape’ of normal stool. Since we moved my cat has been very weird about his water. I will have 3 different bowls full of water in the kitchen but he barely drinks out of them (he wants to watch me get a new bowl of water and put the others in the sink). Then tonight right in front of me he was digging in the carpet and then squat so I picked him up and put him in the litter box. I shut the door and when I checked on him about 10 min later there was poop on the tile floor &in 3 spots where he was sitting there were dime or penny size puddles of watery brownish-greenish colored water. I checked his ‘area’ and there was the same stuff on/in him.
Is there something wrong??

My Husbands Friend and the Best man in Our wedding is a good guy. My husband now 24 and his Friend who is 19 grew up next to each other when my husband moved from Russia to the USA.
Here is the Help I need.
Jr who is my husbands Friend lives in Complete Fifth with his 13 year old sister and Parents. They have 7 cats who Pee and Poop everywhere, In the Kitchen on the furniture Etc. Every time we go visit the Whole house reeks of piss and poop. There are filthy dishes with Bugs swarming in the Kitchen. The Daughters bed reeks of Cat peep and poop and is nasty. Her clothing is Dirty and there only Bathroom leeks and as mold everywhere.
I can’t Stand going into the house. Every time I do visit the daughter complains of being hungry and there is only dirty nasty food in the Kitchen so I end up taking her out. This family is a Nice family but has fallen on hard times. But I breaks my heart seeing the condition that the family lives in. I have invited them to my house for dinner but they cannot afford the gas to drive 20 miles. I have gotten the Daughter clothing and things she needs. My husband and I just bought our first house, Its is small but very clean and cozy. We have invited Jr and his Sister to stay with us but because of work and school it’s just too far.
My husband was only 12 when he met the family and things were different then.
I really want to help them but I don’t see how else I can. What Do I do?
I am only 22 and adopted myself from a similar situation. I am not sure how far helping will go.

I just woke up like 20 mins ago, which makes it 730 am right now. and I did what I normally do: fall downstairs, make cerea,l feed fish, take cat out, but this time when I came downstairs my cat was whining a lot (as he usually does) but it smelled like someone had diarrhea in the middle of my house! He didn’t go out last night because it was storming ( he won’t use his box in the summer),and I think he may have pooped on my computer room floor, because it smells worse in here and there is a wet spot. I really hope he didn’t – cuz I would feel awful – but I thik he may have been ashamed and ATE it! He is a very obedient cat and I love him a lot, and he never ever does anything wrong that would make me yell at him ( climbing on the kitchen counters, scratching furniture), so if he did this I wouldn’t think it would be because hes scared of me. Do you think its possible he did this? The rest of the house is spotless except right there
My cat has no problem using his litter box and I buy the good litter, he just prefers to only use it in the winter when he is stuck inside. Otherwise he goes in the bushes. I really hope he did not eat it!
**UPDATE**
Found the poop it was in the attic and the vent made it smell down here. And I was right on with the sense it was diarrhea
. Gonna change his diet and see if that helps.
