My puppy has dark stool?

My puppy has been having darker stools lately. His stool isn’t black but it’s a dark brown color and his poop is of a smaller amount then before. There are no traces of bloods or worms. He’s eating fine, drinking water regularly, and as active as can be – basically, he seems normal. Also, he goes to the bathroom less.

I switched him over to Innova Puppy. And yesterday, he jumped onto the counter and ate half a can of Spam. The stool was already dark before this incident though. (My mom feeds his table scraps occasionally. She promised she’s going to stop though.)

I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow. So my question is, how dark does a puppy’s stool have to be to be unhealthy?

His is a little lighter then the color of dark coffee, and around the color of brown coffee. I’m not sure if that makes sense so..

His stool is similar to that color.
Since the picture is in the corner, my computer views it as black until I move myself to look at it directly. So I’m just saying, his stool isn’t black.
The stool is usually solid and at the end, it gets a little soft. Usually they’re in two pieces. No I cannot see any undigested food pieces. His butt seems fine and not irritated. He goes very easily. And Innova isn’t a dark colored food.

How do I keep my dog from chewing up my deck?

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, and I have two dogs, one is 7 months old, the other is 9 months. THe 7 month old puppy is chewing up my deck. I was leaving them in their crates during the day, to crate train them. But they are getting to big for their crates, and we have a huge deck, so I thought I could leave them out on the deck. We recently laid down low grade outdoor carpet, bc she was chewing up the wood on the deck, and we thought she wouldn’t be able to chew up the carpet, but I was wrong, after less than a few hours out their, she chewed a whole in the carpet. What can i do to stop them from chewing, bc I want to be able to leave them on the deck.

I have 6 puppies all together. They act like they feel ok, but for the past couple of days, they haven’t been as active. I know the correct answer would be to take them to a Vet, but my financial situation isn’t the greatest. If there are any good over the counter Puppy wormer , please let me know. Thanks!

Is my dog at risk from parvo?

I’m really asking what should i do. I’m so upset, so I’ll describe the circumstances and hopefully somebody can help. My roommate’s (who has her own room) puppy has parvo. My dog is about a year and a half and had his last parvo vaccine 4 months ago. she keeps her puppy in her room most of the time, only taking him out to the bathroom twice a day. then, he walks through the apartment. She has only sanitized his crate and some of his toys. I don’t think she is taking this seriously enough. she isn’t cleaning up his stool and she hasn’t bleached anything in the apartment. I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen with bleach solution- the rest of the apartment is carpeted. I stayed in a hotel for 2 nights, after coming home from spring break, because she hadn’t cleaned. I hate how she treats me and her dogs, but I know it is up to me to make sure this is a safe place to live for me, my dog, and the other dogs in the apartment complex. Is my dog in danger of contamination? how can i sanitize the carpets?

anything for dogs diarrhea over the counter?

my puppy has giardia she just got her antibiotics, had the first dose, but every 30 mins shes going bloody stools/diarrhea and i feel terrible for her, is there anything like maybe peptobismo dogs can take?? or anything that I can do that will help her? or should i take her back to emergency vet?
she goes about 3 times every half hr about, half the stool seems like its blood
i was thinking i can get pepto bismo or kaopeptate or anything to help her if its safe for her shes 6 months
she was at the vets 5 hrs ago tested positive for giardia. My family does NOT understand to be honest thats why i even asked this question here instead of just going back to the vets, because they’ll trash all over me that i leave their thanksgiving to take my puppy to the vet. But if she has to go back then of course ill take her.
the antibiotic they put her on is a powder called fenbendazole

HELP with these dreams! Are they connected?

I had a dream about my friend driving a car in new york, filled with hills and she almost ran into trucks as they drove by. No matter how much I yelled at her to stop she kept laughing and going but I wasn’t even scared. I had my laptop in th car and we were listening to techno music. Then I woke up.

I had another dream that I was in some kind of pet store where the pets were so cute and happy that they took your eye off the awful conditions. I found a dog in chains behind bars on the ground. I started to pet it and notice the conditions I got everyone’s attention ands they were all mumbling around me and the dog. My friend, the same one from my last dream, came and fed the puppy and everyone went awwww and cheered for her. I stood up and felt so out shined, no one cared that I was the one who noticed it. The reason I was so upset is because my friend is so good at school and such a good sister but the only thing I’m good at is knowing and caring for animals.

Last night I had another dream that my friend and I were watching rollercosters go around and I got really dizzy and started to collapse so she took my home. But it wasn’t my house it was a crappy little room with tiny windows and no furniture. There was dead plants everywhere and I knew it was because there was so little sunlight. Then my friend took my next door to her backyard. It was beautiful, we swam in her pool and she showed my her awesome hot tub that had all these beautiful plants around it and she could make a waterfall start by pressing a button. Then I awoke.

Can anyone tell me what these dreams mean? I think the first one means that because I was listening to techno music I’m thinking with my mind and someone is driving my mind (not well may I add). But I have no clue what the second one means or the third one and if they are connected. BTW I’m not jealous of my friend. Although I get kind of embarrassed with the things she does.
CAN ANYONE HELP ANSWER MY QUESTIONS? thanks

I adopted a 7 month puppy around 7 weeks ago. She hates being confined and hates being left alone. She ate through the first crate I got her which had plastic sides. I got a new one with metal bars on the sides, and she tries to eat through the metal, but can only bend the metal bars so far.

I have been able to coax her into her crate with treats for the first 7 weeks, but she is now wise to being locked in before I leave for work, and she won’t go anywhere near it when I try to coax her in.

The last two mornings, I have had to pick her up and try to force her into the crate. Then she tries to run out. Today I had to spank her and yell at her, which I hate to do, as I know the crate is supposed to the a "happy place."

In the evening, she willingly enters the crate to play with toys and chew on a bone. Just as long as the door is open and she knows she won’t be locked in, she seems to like to go into the crate.

So what can I do? I tried to leave her in the house unattended, but she became destructive, and I don’t want my house to be destroyed.

For various reasons, I cannot leave her in my back yard all day, and I don’t have a garage…

I’ve thought about "chaining" her to a heavy piece of furniture during the day when I’m at work…

If I cannot find a way to keep her and my house safe during the day when I’m at work, I’m afraid I will have to take her back to the dog pound, which I hate to do, because at this point the puppy and I are very close!

Ok let me start with i have a vet app tomorrow at 8 in the morning.. I just got my puppy like a week ago he was 8 weeks when i got him, he has had all of his shots and has been de-wormed.. Tonight i noticed that there was blood in his stool when he pooped on my kitchen floor (not potty trained yet). it was like he pooped and then as an after thought pushed again and it was blood. The poop was soft in consistency and the blood seemed a little watery to me.. So as soon as i cleaned it up and got a better look at it i called a 24 hr vet and they were not of much help. She told me to make an app for in the morn and he should be fine but as i was talking to her he pooped again and it was all blood not very much just a few drops but still blood i told the lady on the phone and she still did not seem worried.. So i made my app for the morn but im still panicking.. He seems fine, he’s still eating and drinking and is as playful as ever. Im just wondering what it could be? I haven’t had a dog since i was a little girl so i don’t know much about puppy’s.. So im just worried i love my puppy and don’t want anything to happen to him..

my 10 month old female spayed sheltie puppy ate half of a cooked chicken leg bone last nights. she’s about 16-17 lb, i checked her vitals (heart rate, respiratory rate, capilary refill time on her gum, her temperature) and all of these things are normal. I called the vet and they told me to give her pumpkin or squash and feed wet food and keep an eye on her but I am still concerned. I caught her chewing and grabed the half that was not eaten. I’m worried that the piece is sharp and could tear up her intestine. she had bowel movement afterwards and the stool looks normal and she had another bowel movement this morning and everything was fine too. Has this ever happend to your dog? I’m really worried and I feel soo guilty. I only left them on their room(which is puppy safe) to brush my teeth and my baby brother accidentally leave the door open and she went to the kitchen and found the chicken bone(i think m brother droped it, coz the trash can is closed)
please help and
please no mean comments
thanks in advance

what is wrong with my puppy?

ok, my husband and i got a full blooded siberian husky when she was 8 weeks old. had her shipped from a breeder in another state. within 72hrs of us receiving her, we took her to a vet to get checked out and make sure everything was ok. that she was a healthy puppy. come to find out she had some kind of worms. like ground worms or something that they found in her stool. we gave her the 3day medication as directed and she seemed fine. for about 2weeks she was hyper, energetic, eating regular, etc. 2 more weeks passed where her poop was soft. wasnt quite watery but wasnt hard either. that went on for about 2 more weeks and we assumed it was the dog food and changed dog foods. she is now 12 weeks old and for the past 2days she has had very watery poop. it honestly looks like she has a mustard bottle strapped to her butt that squirts out occasionally and earlier today she drank some water and ran to the kitchen and puked it right back up. is it the new dog food that is making her do this?? is it possibly parvo?? or some kind or ring worm or something?? please help we are concerned. she has a vet visit for more shots on friday and will address these concerns to the vet if they do not clear up by then.

Okay so my 5 month old pup seems to be getting potty trained but I have never had a puppy so I wanted some input.
At night he can hold his bladder and stool for an easy 8 hours. BUT of course he is sleeping. During the day we usually still take him out about a 1/2 hour after he eats, drinks a ton of water or is very very active running around playing with my cat. Unless he is napping after that. Once he wakes up from a nap at this point we don’t take him out right away but watch for signs. His sign seems to be to walk over to the little 10 foot hallway right off our tv room. We have the kitchen gated off so he can’t go to the other side of the house. So with that being gated off he can’t go to the front or back door as a sign. So if we see him wandering over into the that little hallway quite a bit we take him out. If we don’t that is is secret pee place. He rarely ever has accidents in the house anymore because we take him out probably about 6 times a day. Is this too much??? Or is this normal?
P.S. Also he is a Basset Hound and I heard many many times they can be difficult to housebreak so we are trying to do a REALLY good job so we don’t have issues with him going in the house as an adult. He never poops in the house, which is awesome! He has not done that in a couple of months.

Help with my Siberian Husky?

I have a 6 month old Siberian Husky which I purchased from a pet store. I love my puppy but he can be a real pain and I am not sure what to do. First off he loves to sit and howl in his cage, even if he has just had hours of exercise, he has accidents all the time in the kitchen when you leave him. I almost feel like he is doing it out of spite. I am at a loss on what to do. We had a trainer for a while and being out of a job, I can no longer afford it.

Recently I changed his food and now he is having loose stools that are grainy all over the place multiple times per day. Before that he was having very mushy stools up to 4 times a day, and eliminating constantly. I would take him out he would relieve himself, come in take a sip of water and go out 10 minutes later and do it again. To top it off the poor little guy has a heart murmur, so I am hesitant to have him constantly running. I want to give this dog a good home but finances are hurting me. He needs a bigger cage, a different food and a fenced in area that he can run in. I tie him outside, but he gets into the neighbors yard and often starts drinking the water that is leaking into their yard from their faulty pump.

He is starting to regress today he had an accident in his cage, the first one he has had since he was a puppy and he was just out at 7:00 am and he did this around 9:30. I am at a loss and I do not want to have to get rid of him. Please any advice on food, training, exercise, what you do with your puppy? I would greatly appreciate it.
I absolutely agree. I know he has separation anxiety because he is really good when people or other dogs are around. Right now I am at my parents house with other dogs, when I move out I plan on getting another one. I will try changing back his food and eating rice. I give him bones each time he leaves. I may have to start investing in new toys though. He seems to like them for a while then gets bored, possibly switching them up helps. He has gotten diarrhea when I have given him the KONG with the peanut butter spray, but maybe I will try again after getting his food changed back. THANKS!!!! I am looking into getting him a kennel and a bigger cage as well so he can have lots of time outside, in the yard, as opposed to the large deck he runs in now. Also a shorter chain until the neighbors get their fence finished so he no longer has access to the dirty water :)

My puppy finished his perscription for coccidia medication a few days ago. His stool was getting firmer on the medication, but once it ran out, his poop got looser again. I took in a stool and urine sample to the vet because there was mucus in the stool, and she analyzed it and didn’t find anything. He was dewormed two weeks ago, and tomorrow will have another deworming pill, so I don’t think it’s worms. He has eaten a bit of grass and his food and water today, but nothing else as far as I know. I watch him like a hawk outside.

Anyways, just now he went into the kitchen and pooped, then under the kitchen table and pooped, and then into the living room and pooped, and then into his roomand pooped. It got looser and looser, with the last being a bit liquid-ey. He usually indicates he needs to go out by standing by the door, but this time he didnt do it.

I plan to take him to the vet tomorrow, but does anyone have any other advice? I am really worried about him.
To clarify, I am not worried about the behaviour of pooping inside, since he has been learning well since we got him. What I am concerned about is his health.

I am at my wits end! What do I do now?

I bought a 2.5 month old male bulldog pup weighing in at 5.5kgs that had done 2 out of 3 vaccinations.

Brought it to the vet IMMEDIATELY after picking it up. Vet found slight fever, rashes on the face and also a sore throat. Vet also inspected blood sample and stool sample. Medication was prescribed. At the time, the vet mentioned that the pup was neglected, exposed to heat but still in reasonably acceptable condition. No antibiotics prescribed.

Pup was placed indoors. Fed Eukanuba Puppy Large Breed 3 times a day and given free access to water. Pup roamed living room, kitchen and bedroom. Never exposed to heat. Never brought outdoors.

Brought it back to the vet 3 days later for follow up checkup. Condition now worse. Throat all red and covered with mucus. Pup wheezing. Temperature normal. Rashes reduced. Traces of fluid in lungs. Did a blood test on a ‘Distemper’ test kit. Results negative. Broad spectrum antibiotics prescribed.

Yesterday morning: Pup wheezing loudly. Very inactive and no longer playful. Pup vomited. Nose covered with green mucus. Immediately brought it to vet again. Fluids in lung remain. Pup put on nebulizer twice daily. Pup was sent to vet again this morning.

I have been feeding pup medication and taking it back n forth to vet since the day I bought it. I really am looking forward to the day when I can just feed it normal food without all the pills and medications.

I really do not know what to do anymore. What do you think my pup has? Do you think it’s anemia or what? Any advice? Suggestions?

4 months old puppy always eating poo!!?

I have tried so many different things..Forbids from the vet.Deter brand, petco brand, excel brand from the petstore.. I even added in pineapple crush into the food.Or added a bit of wasabi into the stool and let her find it.

I dont keep her inside the crate.I used a safety gate to keep her in a hardwood floor place next to our kitchen. She is papertrained. Everytime when she ate,we would stay there till she pooped and clean it away but there got to be times when we are not able to stare at her.

Like night time and when we have to run errand.

I dont know what to do with her anymore cos there is no way to get her to stop doing that.
she is checked for worm and there is no parasite in his stool check just last week.

I put her on eukanuba lamb and rice and she had diahhrea and was eating her poop,I changed to natural variety prairie and she also got diahhre and also eating her poop.

Now I switched back to evlove puppy and her stool is solid but she is still eating her poop.

And I was checking the dog food ranking site.It says evolve contain filler and adding stress to their liver and kidney. But this is the only food that her stool is solid..
