I have a white wicker indoor patio set that I’m thinking of spray painting dark brown. If anyone has done this before please tell me the brand of spray paint you used and the name of the shade. I’m trying to achieve a natural wood feel.

Are there any real reasons for spray paint? And don’t tell me to repaint your patio furniture. I see the utility departments using it on streets for digging projects, but what if it was stopped being produced to combat graffiti and tagging? Wouldn’t tagging still exist with big fat magic markers?

I have a large wicker basket, that appears to have some kind of hint of whitewash finish on it. I noticed that there is a spray paint out there from Rustoleum in a dark espresso brown. However, if the color is a dark stain, is it necessary then to prime it? (I’ve never done something like this before, so I wasn’t sure.) Thanks for your help!

I have a old wicker chair that needs to be repainted. I am keeping it’s original white color, but the current paint is flaking. Lots of little flakes pretty much all over the chair. Do I need to sand the entire chair before repainting, or would I get the same result with just using a stiff bristled brush it get rid of the flakes? Or do I need to sand it or do something else? Also, can I use spray paint to repaint it?

I recently had my solid oak barstools sanded down and spray painted with rustoleum 2x spray paint. The guy who did it, then tried to seal it with polyurethane which caused a mess. I have been slowly removing the poly with mineral spirits to get the layer off. I do want a protective coating on when I’m done, so I have two questions… 1) when can a lacquer coat be applied? Should the chairs be COMPLETELY dry and if so, for how long? 2) Is lacquer even my best option to protect these chairs from scuffing and wear and tear. Look forward to expert opinions. Thank you!

It is particle board covered with a wood laminate. I want it to look like it’s stained dark like a rustic wood. Obviously I can’t sand and stain it so is there a paint or spray paint that looks like wood or that will make it darker while still showing the grain? I’d even do a paint technique if not too complicated.

I have gotten all the varnish off and sanded an old kitchen table. The look I’m wanting is that rustic black look and I’m not sure what to do now. Do I use a spray paint or a paint brush? What do you put on the table after it’s painted so it won’t chip and so I can clean it?

Regular gloss white spray paint will work or is there a special one for wicker?

Hi there. I love to free hand paint and I would like to paint on plastic tables, chairs, benches, etc. patio furniture.
I know I should lightly sand the surface – making sure it is very clean – and prime. I know that much.
However, I want to paint a design with a paintbrush – not spray paint.
Anyone tried this? Which paint would I use and how can I make sure it will last?
thanks for any help folks!

Do i need to apply anything before the gloss paint or just paint over existing paint?

My wife and I have been brush-painting our unfinished Alder kitchen chairs by hand, and we’re getting drips and uneven blotches everywhere. If we want to speed up the process and make things look nicer, do we have to invest in a Spray Gun, or can we use good ol’ canned spray paint?
