We recently got a 40 years old house. The house is unique and we love it. We want to redecorate the enclosed patio. The previous owner had the walls stains and the carpet is red. It has kinda old look. I want to paint the wall and change the carpet. I want some thing like dark green in the stain and still the brown stain should show from beneath. How do I do it?
What kind and color should I buy carpet?
Thanks in advance,
Ani

I know my question probably made me sound snobby and ignorant, but if you’re still interested keep reading: This is one of my VERY best friends, and I want to feel comfortable when I go over to her house. It’s just so unsanitary and an eyesore. Her dog (a westie) isn’t housebroken. And even though my friend and her family have absorbent sheets for the dog to use, Roxie (dog’s name) goes wherever she pleases. And the things is, my friend’s family sometimes don’t clean up after her. Which definitely makes a difference over time. I’m super sorry if this sounds gross, but tend to be little pieces of stool on the floors. Then there’s the vomit stains (from the dog) on the carpet, and odor near the garage and kitchen. The kitchen floor looks like it hasn’t seen a mop in years. Plus, the house has dead bugs lying around. Now I know that I can’t expect everyone’s house to be sparkling - mine isn’t either. But I just want to enjoy spending the night at my friend’s house instead of feeling disgusted. When I take a step in to the home, I would like to take a step back out. I really do not want to hurt my friend’s feeling by saying anything…I’m not sure what to do.
Any advice? Has anyone been in this kind of situation before?

My sister is a year and a half older than me, but acts 10 years younger. She is the mother of two children, recently separated from her husband of 8 years (he left her because of the way that she is). She is messy (never sweeps/mops, furniture is covered in food and stains, clothes all over the house. she always has at least 4 animals in her house and it reeks like litter, the animals also continuously have fleas and matting in their fur…it looks like an episode of Hoarders). She sits around all day and watches tv or sits at the computer. Only calls our mother or myself when she wants something (ie to watch the kids while she goes out to a bar or she needs money "for bills" aka booze/smokes) or to whine and complain about even the smallest issues. I try to listen, give her advice (especially when it comes to money management) however, if she doesnt like to hear it she will hang up. Recently, I have become engaged and am expecting my first child. She doesnt call with Big Sister advice or to see how i’m doing…instead, its more drama about her ex or her kids, etc. I’m fine without her advice as i have great support from friends and other family, but its very stressful when all i want is for her to be happy and not so….jealous. She exhibits all the signs of ADHD but thinks that nothing is wrong with her. Is there anything that I can do to get her to see that she needs help to be truly happy? Getting her to see a therapist is out of the question….Should I cut ties with her even if it means she won’t let me see my niece and nephew again? Please help.

Is it OK to bathe my cats once a month to keep them clean and remove loose hair? Should I bathe them more often?
Any *special* brushes or shampoos to help with shedding?
Tips on how to cut down on vomiting? With 3 cats I tend to clean up at least 2 hair balls a week and it always stains the carpet.
Cat grass? My cats ADORE it. Does it help - or make worse - hair balls?
Last question…………
How do I keep my cats off my bed, furniture and kitchen counter? When I am home I use a squirt bottle filled with water but as soon as I leave the house the sneaky little devils crawl in the bed, take over the furniture and wallow all over the kitchen counter!!! This is REALLY getting on my nerves. What can I do?

My Roommate has IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome). He’s a nice guy, but often when we have guests he can be in the kitchen and his light tan khaki pants may turn dark brown in the back. The smell pervades the room, he becomes embarrassed, and we usually don’t see him again until the company leaves.
I have paid for most of the furniture in the house and he stains it often. What do I do? A part of me wants to tell him I can’t abide with his problem any longer- it is hard to live with- and ask him to move. Any suggestions? His name is Joe.

I have black and white printed chairs and have a curry stain on them. I have soaked them in water with washing solution and rubbed bar soap on the stain, but it just seems ingrained! I have also put carpet cleaner on it but nothing has worked. I don’t think bleach would work as the black parts would run… does anyone have a magic solution for removing curry stains?
