My living room flows into my kitchen and there is a "bar" to separate the rooms. You are able to see into the kitchen so the colors cannot clash. My dilemma is what two colors will go well together or should I pick one color and do different shades? I have a rich brown, comfy couch in the living room with brown furniture and a neutral carpet. The kitchen has dark cabinets and counter tops, light floors, and the appliances are white. The kitchen table is glass and dark metal. Hope that helps!
Thanks!

painting my new apartment?

here is the link to the floorplan of my new apartment(.http://www.timberslife.com/floorwalnut.asp?id=95).what do you think would be a good color combination? Right now I’ve got the living room and dining room the same color a liberty blue…the bedroom a romantic isle blue…the bathroom two colors-> Embellished Blue and Bear Rug Brown…and the kitchen Frost white…what do you think? The colors are some of my favorites…help me please I’m moving in on Sunday and my couches are the only thing I have right now I’m going to work off the paint for the rest of my furniture the couches are a dark grey…

I’m a thirty-year-old single guy. I like dogs, the outdoors, my Jeep Wrangler, autumn, good wine, travel, photography…

I’m trying to integrate my "likes" into my home. I have painted my living/dining room two colors of khaki, and a chalkboard-green wall. I have a brown leather couch, and walnut tables and bookcases. I’ve also remodeled my guest bathroom – new flooring, hardware, paint, etc.

However, I’m trying to get ideas on decorating… accent pieces, dining room furniture, bedroom furniture (blank slate right now) and my own bathroom. I need help finding websites for "bachelor pads" and masculine design (not a lot of flowery-things). I’d like to redo the kitchen with the small tiles as a backsplash.

I’d like to find websites/books/magazines that show off a masculine home. Pictures are a must!!

The main goals are to have a cool guy’s house and up the resale value.

Serious responses only… any help is appreciated. Thanks!
As I said, folks… I need pictures, websites, magazines, etc. While I appreciate the suggestions, does no one know of ANY place to LOOK at pictures to get ideas? That’s what I’m wanting.

what color couch/love seat set should i get?

my fiance and i are so back and forth between two colors – fern or beige

the fern appeared dark in the warehouse, but i’m wondering how light it might actually be once it’s hit with sunlight. i prefer it looking dark

and with the beige, i’m concerned there will be a washout effect in our living room since the walls are white, carpet is light colored, computer desk is tan, bar chairs are beige seats and brown legs/arms, kitchen cabinets are tanish too. we live in a condo, so redecoration is not an option. and the kitchen and living room are open together. and computer is in living room.

our tv is a flat screen which is piano black and sits on a dark brown stand (SO doesn’t match – i know). just throwing that out there.

we do have stuff to hang on our walls, but haven’t done so yet. just moved in about a week ago and we’re procrastinators (plus we have to work)

what would you do? wish i had a link to show you the colors and the couch but it’s not available
