My kitten has diherrea what could it be from?

I have a 12 week old female calico kitten and a 10 week old turkish vandinski the calico has had the runs and soft stools since I got her a week ago but the other kitten seems fine. She was eating friskies cat food when I got her and I changed her food to iams kitten food which both kittens are eating(I am not sure if this is a good enough food?) I am thinking it might just be that she either she has a sensitive stomach and will need better food or maybe she has worms I am not sure. I think that if it’s not worms I will try to change her food to Royal Canin kitten food becuase our Chihuahua is on the same thing and I know this is a good brand… also does anyone know how much it cost to get a kitten dewormed at a vet and if they need to go in for an appointment or can I just buy the pill from the vet also I was wondering if over the counter deworming pills would work please if someone can help me on what is going on could you please let me know and let me know?
MY KITTENS DO NOT HAVE ANY MILK ONLY WATER AND I GIVE THEM FRESH WATER TWICE A DAY

I think my cat is dying.. Help me please?

Me and my mom both think my cat got bitten by a snake. She has a bump about the size of a ping pong ball on her side and whenever we try to look at it, she hisses and swats at us then runs away. My mom said that since it’s been a few days, it’s not poisonous and won’t kill her, but my cat’s still acting strange. Every time I pet her, she’ll just sit there and glare at me and when I move my hand from her to stop, she scratches me on the face or hand. Also, she jumped down off the bar one time to a chair and I was on the other side of the bar and put my hand over the side of it [no where near her] and he hissed and swatted at me again.. Please help me? This is very unusual. My cat is very loving. She won’t even eat anymore. :’( I love my kitty and I’ve been crying my eyes out.. Any vets know what might be wrong with her? Or what I could do?
Without taking her to the vet.. I really can’t afford it no matter how much I wanna take her :( So anything I could do at home??
I can’t take her to the vet. It’s not possible.. I’m only 15 and we barely have a place to live. I really wish I could but I can’t. My mom said she had a dog and it had a bump about a week and it lived.. Could that be the same situation?

i have a 3 month old pitt pup. i reguraley check her stool for worms i also am worming her ever three weeks but yesterday i noticed she had some worms in her stool but this morning it was full of them. They are flat and are long but some look like rice.. I know they are tape worms. I deworm her with a brand called demex -12.. she is constantly eating and she doesnt get much bigger i know it is from he worms my question is though is there a wormer that i can buy over the counter or is it a must to take hr to the vet? any breeders know a good dewormer for tape worms?
she is up to date on her "puppy shots "
so no pitt bully lover i dont plan on giving her her shots at home and if i did does t matter?

Hello… About six weeks ago I started making my dog a homemade diet with added supplements. It’s going ok so far, but she is a picky eater so it can be difficult. She had a mast cell tumor removed, hence the switch of diet. Anyway… I am noticing that her stools are definitly looser than they were when she was on commercial dog food. She is an Aussie, with all that long hair on her rear-end so loose stools cause issues.

Should I add fiber to bulk up the stool? That’s what I have read but it seems counter intuitive to me.
Yes, I slowly switched her over from her old food took over to weeks to do so because I didn’t want to upset her stomach. I do put veggies in, the last batch had shredded, steamed sweet potatos and I think the stools have been the softest on that mix.

As far as following a balance diet… I am, have several books, a few even written by vets that give you specific instructions and recipes. Cooked brown rice is one of the ingredients that goes into her food.

Want to say also… ‘Your vet (depending on who you have) is NOT always the all knowing, able to help you with everything kind of person. They all have specialty areas, homemade food is not my vets strong point.

My dog has been infected with what I believe are tapeworms.
They’re small rice like worms in his stool and he’s constantly rubbing his butt on the ground. I called the vet but he is unavailable until oct1st. Can I purchase over the counter medication, and is it as effective as the vet?

Dog has bad case of diarrhea…?

So last Thursday morning we woke up to my dog sitting in his kennel..looking miserable.. covered in diarrhea from head to toe.. along with his blanket.. toys.. etc. I figured maybe he ate something… then he seemed to be fine all day.

That evening around dinner time he went on the kitchen floor.. pure liquid. Then about 20 minutes later he did it again right by the door, about to bark to go out. I made him some white rice before we went to bed in hopes it would settle his belly..

Friday morning we woke up to the same scene. I called the vet as soon as they opened.. brought in a stool sample. At this point he was going every 10-15 minutes.. pure liquid. The vet tested his stool (which btw was covered in blood) ruled out anything serious.. etc.

They gave him some pills to make it stop.. and it worked almost instantly *thank god.* That weekend we kept him on a bland white rice diet… and then slowly started his regular food bad in once he had solid food. He only took the pills for 2 days and seemed to be fine.

Then yesterday we noticed he was really gassy all day.. and commented on how horrible it smelt. My husband made the comment "we’re going to wake up to shi*t again" Sure enough… around 5 this morning my husband smelt something terrible downstairs.. same scene.. After cleaning him up we gave him another pill… which has slowed it down (but not completely stopped yet) and of course have not fed him.

It hasnt even been a full week of him not getting sick… he is about 4 months old… he is a lab/ husky mix.. he has been eating Purina Puppy Food for large breed since he was 8 weeks old..nothing new has been introduced into his diet.. he doesnt eat human food.. (besides an occasional crumb or two he manages to find)…When he goes outside he has about a twenty feet radius of roaming space.. and its free of any wild plants etc.

The only thing I can think of is excattly one week before this started we took him to the vet and he got caught up on his vaccines etc maybe he could be having an allergic reaction?! It’s really the only *new* and *different* thing we have introduced to him…

The vet ruled out anything serious.. I do plan on calling them again today when they open.. but I figured I should get some other opinions.. and hopefully not have to spend another 150$ + on another vet bill..
they did do a full fecal test and checked for worms and all of the above!

I’m waiting for a doctor to call me back! Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m starting to wonder maybe he did swallow a sock or something?! Great..

My Rottweiler puppy is 9 weeks old and came down with Parvo 2 weeks ago. She wound up surviving it with the vet’s help, my intensive care at home. When I took her back to the vet to be re-checked last Monday she got a clean bill of health!

She has had Solid stools all last week and now yesterday and today I am noticing she is having brown diarrhea with spots of blood! but at the same time she is VERY hyper and active, eating her puppy chow on her own, playing with my cats like she always does, doesn’t look skinny and has her fat puppy body back, she also isn’t dehydrated at all, and she isn’t vomiting.

When she was sick with the Parvo, she threw up foam and mucous/water looking vomit a lot with barely any diarrhea. She also was a bag of bones in meaning she was very skinny from not eating any food what so ever, and she also was very lethargic and the only thing she would do is sleep in her bed under a blanket in the bathroom all day, everyday for 5 days straight while I was giving her Pedialite,Parvoguard,Vibactra Plus ( i researched the web and found out that these home remedies if given consistently, will beat Parvo) every hour on the hour 24 hours a day,and when she started showing interest in food, I gave her cooked white rice and boiled chicken. The first day she was sick, she was at the vet for IV medication and fluid overnight, but it got too expensive so I had to take her home and try to nurse her back to health which was tricky and touch and go, but it worked and I was over the moon happy!.. now I am getting nervous again seeing diarrhea with blood!. But I also heard from the vet, once a puppy has Parvo and gets over it, she can never get it again since they build up an immunity. I was going to get her second shot this weekend, but the vet told me to hold off until next weekend… so I am.

Why is she going backwards with her progress yesterday and today?? I don’t understand why its happening if the vet checked her up last monday and came back to the room telling us "She looks beautiful and looks like she beat the Parvo!". Her words exactly.

I was giving her Parvoguard and I stopped giving it last Tuesday, the day after the vet said she looks perfectly well. Should I start giving it to her again?

Anyone else ever deal with a few days of going backwards with Parvo (only 1 symptom) and it went away and she was fine again?

Right now she is going crazy with my cats.. running all over the kitchen with them and doing her puppy growl thinking she is their boss while they swat at her,its the cutest thing! Back when she was deathly ill she wouldn’t even as much as lift her head off her bed in the bathroom! So that is why I am confused!

If you have any advice.. PLEASE let me know right away!

Oh one more thing I had asked a question about puppies and Parvo yesterday and someone who responded asked if I was the user ATL and then they started saying rude things! I am not that person! I live in Georgia, but I am not them! I promise! I have a Rottweiler Puppy and a Boxer puppy. I just got the boxer puppy yesterday too, so another thing I am worried about is she might catch the parvo.. My husband brought her home as an early Valentines gift to me since i’ve been wanting one badly!.. So far she is fine, but I know it takes weeks for symptoms to show. I do have her away from my Rottweiler though, they haven’t touched yet.
Thanks!

My Dog Ate Chocolate.?

To be more specific, she had a bite off of a fudge bar.

My mom was eating it this morning on the couch, and she didn’t know that chocolate was poisonous to dogs and so she gave my dog some. Just a little; perhaps a teaspoon full. My dog is a Maltese, about five pounds. She has whined a little today but it may be because she hurt her lips today. She’s lying on the chair next to mine, asleep. She’s slept a lot this evening and I’m kind of worried…

Help! No vet near me, and even if I were to find one my mom refuses to go to the vet if my dog doesn’t LOOK like she’s dying.

Ok let me start with i have a vet app tomorrow at 8 in the morning.. I just got my puppy like a week ago he was 8 weeks when i got him, he has had all of his shots and has been de-wormed.. Tonight i noticed that there was blood in his stool when he pooped on my kitchen floor (not potty trained yet). it was like he pooped and then as an after thought pushed again and it was blood. The poop was soft in consistency and the blood seemed a little watery to me.. So as soon as i cleaned it up and got a better look at it i called a 24 hr vet and they were not of much help. She told me to make an app for in the morn and he should be fine but as i was talking to her he pooped again and it was all blood not very much just a few drops but still blood i told the lady on the phone and she still did not seem worried.. So i made my app for the morn but im still panicking.. He seems fine, he’s still eating and drinking and is as playful as ever. Im just wondering what it could be? I haven’t had a dog since i was a little girl so i don’t know much about puppy’s.. So im just worried i love my puppy and don’t want anything to happen to him..

my 10 month old female spayed sheltie puppy ate half of a cooked chicken leg bone last nights. she’s about 16-17 lb, i checked her vitals (heart rate, respiratory rate, capilary refill time on her gum, her temperature) and all of these things are normal. I called the vet and they told me to give her pumpkin or squash and feed wet food and keep an eye on her but I am still concerned. I caught her chewing and grabed the half that was not eaten. I’m worried that the piece is sharp and could tear up her intestine. she had bowel movement afterwards and the stool looks normal and she had another bowel movement this morning and everything was fine too. Has this ever happend to your dog? I’m really worried and I feel soo guilty. I only left them on their room(which is puppy safe) to brush my teeth and my baby brother accidentally leave the door open and she went to the kitchen and found the chicken bone(i think m brother droped it, coz the trash can is closed)
please help and
please no mean comments
thanks in advance

I took in a stray cat that had tapeworms. I took it to the vet to have it checked out, and she said it was generally healthy. The only known problem was the tapeworms that I’d noticed in its stool. She advised that I get an OTC tapeworm medicine instead of paying her high prices.

I gave the cat a tablet a week ago. I think it must still be infested because the cat is literally hungry ALL the time. As in, if I even go in the kitchen, it will run in there, meowing like crazy, making me trip, because it wants me to feed it AGAIN. It’s just not normal for a cat to eat this much.

I want to give the cat another tablet, but when should I? Should I wait a week or can I go ahead and do it today? Thanks.
I’d already checked the package, it said nothing about retesting. Yes, I treated it for fleas already. I’ve never seen a flea on it but I knew that if it had tapeworms, it has to have had fleas.
I forgot to mention that the vet didn’t think the had the other kinds of worms, but he was already treated for them anyway. She gave him that shot for free as a promotional offer.

it all happened like this:
my mom left a huge bowl of fruits out one night, grapes, cantaloupe, honeydews, watermelons, and strawberries, i think, and when she came back into the kitchen, she said the bowl was empty and my dog was licking his lips. i guess he jumped up on the table.
that was yesterday, and now hes been farting all day (really strong smell), and had diarrhea with huge lumps of who knows what. i think the fruit hasn’t been digested properly , or something.
the first session was just a puddle of "stuff", and the last ones were just watery poop.
my dogs a 2 year old yorkie, and hes not energetic at all anymore, and just sleeps and walks real slow. i called my uncle who says he was a vet and says its just indigestion, and to feed him salt water to dry out his system a bit , and a banana to firm his stool.
i don’t know, that doesn’t sound right.
also, he usually whines and/or scratches at the back door to be let out when he has to "go", but now it seems as if he cant hold poop or urine and goes wherever.
my mom said we need to fix it soon or else he’ll have diarrhea a lot and get dehydrated.
HELP PLEASE!
its been 2 days since he ate the fruit, and now he seems much better. no diarrhea or anything.
i havent fed him yet though, because i read i shouldnt for 24 hours to let his system get rid of all the diarrhea.
do you think he’s better now?

I think my dog has a weak stomach?

ISo my dog is throwing up today, he was making these weird snorting noises then throwing up (tho I think sometimes he threw up in his mouth and ate it) and has also been pooping alittle but it’s not firm in the least, gooey even.
I don’t really know what to make of it. I can think of several problems but I can’t narrow it down.

My mom feeds them junk sometimes late at night like a small piece of fried chicken but I don’t know if it’s that because they’re both (I have 2, brother and sister, but the sister generally never throws up tho she does get loose liquidy stool sometimes) not over weight and other dogs seem fine.
I’ve told her to stop but she get’s annoyed and yells at me because I’m the child and she’s the mother (keep in mind I’m a minor)

They rarely drink water, I don’t know what it is, sometimes I let them inside from a potty break and wait in the kitchen to see if they drink water but after 10 minutes I give up and just go upstairs.

They don’t really eat their dog food either, I had them on some dry food with some rice and meat when I got them a year ago but they started pushing the food around with their nose and just eating the meat. So now it’s just dry and they only touch it when they’re starving I suppose and eat a bit.

So I do things sometimes like rub their belly in a motion to try and get things to go down that end well but I don’t think it does anything.
I’m concerned because I noticed his vomitting is really common, too common and I think maybe his stomach is weak.
I have medicine for vomitting from the vet from a funk my dog had a while back that I plan to give (but I have to wait till tomorrow and not give him food) but is there something else I should do? I really don’t know what’s wrong and I really worry about him.

Oh and any nice home made recipes or solutions from experience would be appreciated, I like to hear everyones advice.
Ah if my mom is the case then I’m really screwed. I got her to stop giving them food once before but then she started doing it late at night while I was sleeping -____-
She really LOVES giving them this food so she’s not only angry that me, her youngest child is trying to tell her what to do, but I’m taking her joy away too.

Why is my kitten leaking jelly-like diarrhea?

He used to be really sick a month ago but I nursed him back to health and took him to vet. He used to have roundworms and they’re all gone at 2nd stool sample test. For a long time he is still having diarrhea and sometimes he is dripping jelly-like light brown diarrhea on my carpet and kitchen floor. It looks like beef gravy! What is it? Giardia? I even feed him high quality holistic food!

He’s much smaller than a normal kitten his age (4 months at 2.5 lbs)
his poo looks like toothpaste and sometimes shiny but not watery

I think my cat is really sick! :(?

My cat, Pookie, is about maybe 12 years old and has been acting really weird lately. Her stools have been really gross and diarrhea like, and she makes a sad moaning meow when I try to pick her up and tough her stomach. Also, she has a ton of scabs all over the back of her neck and she barely lets me touch her back.
I’ve also noticed that she’s been finding very odd places to get herself into to sleep. She’s made her way onto the kitchen counter and into a cabinet, on top of the fridge, behind the tv, under my rabbit’s cage and right now, she actually crawled into the cat carrier, which she hates and would normally refuse to go into. She seems really depressed and sick and before I take her to a vet, I would like to know if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be. Please and thank you, I’m really worried and about to cry, worrying about her. I can’t take her to the vet yet because my mom hasn’t come home from work and I would need to take the car. =[
Manny, if you had actually read what I posted, you would have seen this "I would like to know if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be". Nice job, douche.
Rachieh Lalal – I don’t think she’s that old because two of my other cats are about 17 years old and they seem fine and still act like kittens. But I don’t know =[
