Why does my cat meow for endless supply of food?

I have a sweet, two year-old male/neutered kitty I adopted recently from the SPCA and named Phurba. Recently, I started feeding all three cats in separate rooms because Phurba would wander from bowl to bowl and push the other two kitties out of the way to get to their food. He was never satisified with the one bowl of food. Now that they are being fed separately, Phurba gobbles down his serving of food and immediately cries for more food. If I go near the kitchen, he runs ahead of me and sits my the food bowl and cries for food. He does this day and night.

The other two kitties are polite and they don’t take food from him or push him away, so he isn’t fighting with them for control of the food bowl.

He did have an infection for awhile and I was finding blood in his stools…this problem has since then cleared up with medication. Could there be an underlying problem? Is he just a little piglet? Could it be a shelter-kitty thing? Anyone have ideas?
I don’t neglect this cat or underfeed him. I do feed him extra food at times. I give him somewhat over the recommended amount for each serving. I also give treats and a tremendous amount of attention. He’s well-fed. He just can’t seem to figure out that he’s full. If I keep each cat bowl out in the same area, he will clean out each bowl before the others can eat.

I did take him to the vet, and I had him checked for worms. He’s fine. I take very good care of these three cats and will spend whatever I have to spend to be sure that they are healthy and happy. Each kitty is up to date on vaccinations and bloodwork too.

He is very attached, and he does follow me from room to room and always wants to be by my side. I wondered if the food thing has to do with his wanting to be near me or communiate with me, and when we are in the kitchen, he simply associates our interaction with food.

Or it could simply be a shelter thing. If he had to fight for food, it may have stuck.
And he isn’t fat. He’s only slightly overweight. He’s a little guy, but he does have a tummy on him. I want to keep him from becoming obese and unhealthy.
It may be interesting to know that he is the littlest of my three cats. Mallory is a 1 and a half year-old 13-pound Maine Coone (large breed), and she’s a polite sharer of food. Chloe is a small kitty who is 16 years-old and is a little taller than Phurba, but skinnier. Phurba is actually a small fry.
The other two cats would graze throughout the day and never over-ate. Phurba, however, will not simply graze. If Ieft food out, he would gobble up all of it–even if he wasn’t hungry. I want him to know that he food supply is always going to be there for him, but I don’t want him to overeat.
Thanks for all your answers…valuable information!

My indoor kitten had bloody stool.?

I got my female kitten in in mid may. The owner said that she was born at the beginging of april. I noticed tonight that she had blood in her stool. She is an indoor cat and I also have her brother too. They are both indoor cats. They have been recently been climbing on the counters in the kitchen. I am afrraid that she has eaten something that was bad for her. What should I do?
The kittens got int othe basic stuff. Some crumbs of the kids crackers. The kids drop stuff on the floor and the kittens get there before I can. Nothing toxic. Hoe can it be worms if they are indoor cats only?

Can my toddler be around a dog with worms?

I rescued a puppy two nights ago and after a trip to the vet, found out she has worms. The vet gave her a dewormer. I have been keeping her in the kitchen, with paper, but my two-year-old keeps begging to play with her. She isn’t lethargic or anything. Obviously, I know not to let him near her stool and we’re keeping that cleaned up well, but can he play with her as long as she is clean?
He doesn’t put anything in his mouth, actually. He’s almost 3.

Well i have a lovely female Siberian Husky who is 7 1/2 months and will be 8 months 14th of feb, she has never been a big eater eating about 2 1/2 cups of dry food a day << which btw is perfectly normal to the breed, however i was just wondering if she is too thin, some vets say she’s fine other say she’s a little thin and to put her on a science diet weight gainer :/
someone asked me today if she has worms, she is wormed every month and the vets say it covers all worms bar a few foreign worms in different countries, when she was about 3 months and still lean we took a poo sample and it came back clear…how would i know if she has worms? she rarely scoots <<< like i cant give an exact number..not even once a week, her stools are firm, she has a worming tablet every month, she eats normally……

here are some pics of her and the most recent..i.e just taken now!!:

i dont want to become obsessed about her weight, so if their are any husky owners/breeders/experts or dog owners could let me know whether for a siber her age is she is normal or too thin?
yes she is full sibe, and most huskies especially bitches look like this – fur wise, she is also of the working line of huskies…her brother has more fur than her, but her fur is tru to the breed standard:
a thick soft water proof under coat and a coarse over coat acting as a guard.

i cant see her ribs but i can feel them, her belly tucks in but not too much nor does it pertrude… but i can feel the groove inbetween her ribs if i dig deep enough but not as bad as im making it sound!!

she is about 19 inchs at the withers and will only grow to 22 inches, and last time she was weighed at 5 months she weighed 15 kg…so im not sure now!

Okay, I have three cats. Two are brother and sister and are small kittens. I believe they were born on 4/19 so they are not that old. The older kitten will be a year in August. Not this fourth of July weekend but the Sunday before, I went to a pet clinic and got them shots. My older kitten had already received shots but before but we got her vaccinated again. The two younger cats had never been vaccinated before and received the general kitten vaccines and a deworm. I also, received a free sample of kitten revolution. This is suppose to help treat parasites and what not. Okay, so this morning I wake up and there are worms everywhere! Yuck!!! I keep the litter box in the corner of the kitchen and there are these worms that look like maggots spread across the kitchen floor and behind the litter box. My house is clean and I am a vegetarian so I don’t know where the worms are coming from. I thought maybe a fly laid an egg near the litter box because I didn’t see any actual worms in the litter box?? What are your thoughts? Last night I changed the litter, swept the floor and wiped the floor around the litter box with Lysol wipes; I did not see any worms. This morning there must have been 15 worms scattered around the kitchen floor. Do you think maybe the kittens passed some worms in their stool last night? What kind of worms could these be if they are coming from the kittens because they were dewormed a week ago and given revolution. They were yellowish/whiteish with darker color “faces.” Help!
Yes, one of them had a really bloated tummy when we got him but it looks like it is deflating. Although, the girl looks like she is not gaining any weight and seems to be hungry a lot…as if she is not getting the right nutrients in her body. Anyways, it is gross. I did purchase a fecal test that I have to turn in on Sunday. So, I have to wait until then. Like I said the worms look like maggots or like long grains of rice. Any idea how long it will take for them to poop them all out?

Also, if the worms were roundworms (which is what my husband seen in the stool), can my 4 year old some how catch them from playing with the puppy?

what is the best over the counter cat dewormer?

i don’t know what kind of worms my cat might have. i haven’t seen any in his stool or vomit. are over the counters safe and do they work.
