What are some cheap ways to decorate your room beachy?
So, I will be painting my room in 2 weeks but I want more changes than that, I’d like some suggestions ! The walls will be all cream with one brown accent wall, which is the one with a window. My bedspread is simply navy blue and white. I wanted to try something new with my room, but I have no idea where to start. I have a white bookcase that can’t be painted, a HUGE (6′ ?) black barred cage for my chinchilla, a white desk with a brown top on it, a brown dresser, and a small dark wash wooden bedside cabinet thing with a white marble top. It’s basically all of my parent’s old furniture that I got stuck with, but it’s all I have. I can’t buy new furniture at all so what do I do?
Like I said, I’d like some cheap, do it yourself way to add to the beachy-ish feel to my room.

You can paint all pieces of furniture that you don’t really care about the color of, white. That’s the first step I think. Also you can look for a cheap white wicker bench/chair, and get cheap cushion to go in it. If you want, and have the money you could get a new comforter. Get shells for cheap, of different colors and could use a mirror you already have and put shells around the outside of it.
im totally into the oceany thing too…i googled ocean front hotels and stole their decor ideas…generally light colors..blues whites beiges..some nice palm leaves (can get from wally world for super cheap) and some sea shells inside vases would give it a nice beachside feel.
go to target and look through their home decorations and things like that. they have wall ornaments, paintings, etc that are beachy themed. i would put starfish on the wall and things like that! you could also buy a fish for cheap and a fishbowl to add more to the theme.
