What bird did I see this morning?
I was driving to work this morning (about 7am) through a local neighborhood. There perched on someone’s patio furniture was a hawk of some type. It was very slim looking and about the height of a crow when perched. Its chest was pale with brown bars, the back was dark slate gray to black and head was a dark brown black. I live in South Central PA. Cooper’s Hawk?

may very well have had been.
Sounds like a coopers hawk, but haws have different life stages so it could’ve been a different kind of bird that was a juvenile too.
Cooper’s Hawk perhaps or a Sharp-shinned Hawk. The two are extremely difficult to differentiate especially driving by. Even by those who are pseudo experts.
