Yep- never leave the vet’s office without thoroughly understanding what’s wrong, what they’re doing about it & why.
Since you’ve been to two vets already & aren’t understanding what’s going on I’m going to say that you need to quit nodding your head (which implies you understand &/or agree) & start asking questions till you thoroughly understand. I
f your vet or his assistant is not patient enough to do this then try yet another vet.
The other thing I see with this question is that you seem to have trouble sorting out the important info from the rest.
Work on doing that, write down the things you want to tell & ask the vet then call the vet in the morning, tell them what’s going on & ask what they suggest.
Best wishes!
Its really hard to answer this question. Go back to your vet and be FIRM with them. Say you dont understand whats going on with him, or whats wrong with him or what they think will happen. Ask to speak to the manager if you have too. You are paying them, so they are working for you! It sounds unprofessional to me, you need answers
Have you been force feeding him? It is essential that a tiny dog like him gets food in. They quickly develop hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which can be very dangerous and can lead to lethargy, confusion and eventually seizures. Make sure you’re getting food and water into him.
Fleas can cause anemia which can decrease his activity level and his appetite. Stress from that could definitely lead to vomiting and soft stool. The Capstar is amazing and should quickly kill off the adult fleas, the Frontline plus will prevent further infestations.
The Cerenia will prevent him from vomiting and should make him feel better and less nauseous. Hopefully treating his fleas, force feeding, and keeping him comfy will help him heal quickly. I would really doubt that dropping him is what caused this as you were seeing problems before he was dropped.
Good luck.
First of all, he’s sick. Second of all, he’s in trauma because he’s been taken away from all he’s known in his short little life.
The second will start to correct itself once he starts to feel better.
The most important thing right now is to get his health in order. Of course his little tail isn’t wagging — yours doesn’t either when you are not well. Fleas, anemia, vomiting and the meds are taking a toll on him right now. Just make him as comfortable as possible, hold him on your lap and speak sweet nothings in his little ears to let him know he’s loved and you want him to get well!!!
Your post is difficult to understand with no paragraphs. If you use paragraphs and a capital letter at the beginning of each paragraph it makes it easier to understand.
When you go back to the vet, ask specific questions and tell them in clear manner what the symptoms are, don’t just ramble on. Ask the questions you need answers to and if you don’t understand what you are being told then say so and they will explain in a way you do understand.
Please do not let your young child pick the puppy up and carry it around. She can sit on the floor and the pup will come up to her. It is too dangerous for the pup being picked up and carried by a young child, as you no doubt have discovered.
