I would suggest you choose a color such as "Toasted Pine Nut", from Sherwin William’s. It is a nice light/medium neutral tan color that would be appropriate for the decorating style you are going for. A comforter in dark green, dark brown, or even dark blue would coordinate with this wall color. You can check out the color I chose for your brother’s room at:

Try tree-bark brown.

maybe a shade of brown?
or dark gold… i think that would be kinda cool
i think like a dark forest green and a natural brown or something like that or maybe even consider a navy blue?
Before I answer your question!
Does your brother know that you are painting his room and what colour does HE like for his room ?
rustic colours would be, brown, tan, beige, Terra cotta, rust , burnt orange
look at furniture store web sites for ideas on great color combinations.
like a rusty earthy burnt orange.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a color like "tamarind" (# 7538) would be a great color.
