What is the best kitchen flooring for a home with a very slobbery dog?

My dog slobbers a lot on the kitchen floor when we are out. We come home to lots of very watery slobber on the floor. Our current linoleum flooring is old and needs replacement. I would like something in style but it needs to withstand the slobber. Thanks for any suggestions.

The subject of kitchen flooring and dogs can be a real dilemma for those who have large rambunctious pups and a small budget. Some of the more durable floor types can be somewhat expensive. When it comes to flooring, you get what you pay for. While some kitchen floor types can entail high upfront costs, in the long run, they may just help you save money.
Some Kitchen Floor Types for Dogs:
Linoleum flooring
Ceramic tile flooring
High-pressure laminate
Rubber flooring
Hardwood is affected by changes in humidity and is not recommended for bathrooms, kitchens, or below grade. Many laminate floors are water-resistant, but you should check the warranty to be sure what is and is not covered.
slate. it’s not cheap but it is definitely great for dog slobber and spills in general…

Dog slobber is no harder on the flooring than most other kitchens spills and traffic. New vinyl flooring would be a fine choice or you could install a floating laminate floor. Those floors are easy to install and maintain and are comparatively inexpensive.
The chief concern for laminate flooring is that spills be wiped up immediately because liquids getting through the seems between boards can damage the floor. But it isn’t so sensitive that it can’t tolerate typical spills. Dog slobber shouldn’t be an issue.
Bamboo flooring is popular, tough and environemtally friendly.
Bottom line, dog slobber really isn’t a factor, choose what ever you like.
I would suggest hardwood floors. Vinyl, or laminate are too slippery.
I’m a dog owner, too, and a DIY’r. Vinyl or tile is, IMO, your best bet. Wood will scratch and the other guy is right about laminate and wood needing spills wiped up very quickly. If cost is an issue, good quality vinyl will last for years and is easy to clean. Tile is more expensive but adds more value to your home. The choice is yours.
BTW, that throbbery dog thounds like a real trip!
