I have 3 dogs. A golden retriever, a scottie and a westie. They are given heartguard since I got them. But when I sent their stool sample to the vet 2 days ago.He told me my retriever has whipworms.I was shocked cos they were on heartguard.

He told me heartguard doesnt protect the dogs against whipworm..I was stunned cos if it doesnt, why didnt he tell me?

He gave me 3 packets of panucur. I gave one packet inside the food on yesterday’s breakfast.Last night,my retriever vomitted and pooped so much.I was thinking the panacur was acting up the cleansing job.But this morning when I woke up,I saw 4 ‘lots’ of poo and pee in the kitchen where my retriever was kept for the night.2 patches was just blood and the other 2 were pee and watery stool without worms.

I called the vet and he says panacur doesnt have such effect but if it happens again,I should send my dog to the emergency room.

I will monitor again to make sure she doesnt poo blood again.
Can someone tell me. As I read that the eggs of the whipworm cannot be eliminated completely. What can I do?

And since heartguard doesnt protect her against whipworm. What is good?Interceptor or sentinel?

As I have mentioned,I have 3 dogs. The retriever is 40lbs 6 months old puppy. My westie and scottie are 6.5lbs 4 months old puppies.

I appreciate genuine advices.Thanks
