It definitely is an individual decision- it depends on several factors- what part of the country you are in, size of the home , ( colors will make a place seem larger or smaller.) personal preferance as to what you feel "comfortable" in- ( I am a redhead, and would NEVER want a lot of red in my house, for instance.) I like the idea of cream for a base, and probably would add natures colors in the pale forest greens, rusts, colonial blues, etc. have fun1 ( yes, this ismy business.)
One of the hottest colors in decorating right now is Sage Green, or any color green for that matter. That would go right along with the cream walls, and wood of the logs.
Greens, browns and reds (brick red, not fire engine red) are great colors. These are all warm and inviting colors. If you have an open concept floor plan you can use more color than if you have smaller rooms. You could also use all of the above colors in the same room, depending on it’s size.
Blues and purples are nice colors, but can very easily make a room feel cold. Yellows might not look good with the light colored wood wall.
