What wall color should I put with dark coffee colored furniture?
I have a living room i’m trying to decorate, it is part of an open floor plan so our kitchen and dining room is open to it also. There are two windows and a sliding door so even though there’s usually plenty of sunlight it can still feel like a cave at times. I want to know if my idea of paint for the walls is insane or doable and i’m open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
I have dark coffee colored furniture. The kitchen counters are also coffee colored and so is the dining table. The carpet is a medium sand color and the linoleum in the kitchen/dining area is a mixture of coffee and tan/sandy colors. I know…sounds boring, it is, it needs color badly.
I am planning on doing a teal for the walls in the living room (not too bright, but bright enough) and decorating with touches of green and orange with hints of the blue throughout the living area and into the kitchen dining area to make it flow. Also, if I decide to not do the whole room in teal, but just an accent wall…what color should I go with for the rest of the room? I’m an artist and I usually have a knack for colors and what goes with what and I really think this will work but i’m really scared to mess it up, it’s my house not some throw away canvas. I want it to look nice and show off the bolder colors that I love.

Hi.
Yeah I think the teal sounds good. I think it works well with brown furniture and it will make the room a little lighter:

I also like the idea of adding contrasting orange, I think it complements blue very well:

(Some inspiration – using blue, orange and green)
You’re right, you do have a knack for colours, don’t be scared to try it. I think having some white walls will allow you to add bright accessories without it feeling too much.
Hope this helped a little.
Try yellow walls, and blue carpet.
TRY BLUE WALL…N MAY BE ANY LIGHT COLOUR CARPETS N CURTAINS…IT’LL GVE A NEW LOOK…..
light beige, light celery green and/or almond.
i would not paint the walls any bright color if the house is not mine i would stay in the nuetral zones with paint and probley would put blue or teal curtains with sheers behind them so when open the light would come in and for accent colors i would go with the orange and maybe a green in some of the pillows for the couch.
